Looks good! I’m 99% with my F/A-18 Maverick. This is a very good good kit. Landing gear took the longest for me to build and paint. I just got to do the rockets. My 13 yo son did an amazing job on his 1/64 F-14 Tomcat. We have a nice display shelf with them side by side. I bought a airbrush kit and it has helped tremendously. I’m still trying to figure out weathering effects!
The landing gear took me a while too it’s so detailed and has a lot of loose parts you need to glue on

That super hornet looks unreal watching you just wanted to say you gave me some ingenious tips.
Great build! I also bought this kit and in addition to the US insignias being incorrect, the Top Gun logo on the tail is completely fictional. Once I build mine, I'll be using aftermarket decals.

Something i've just ordered after taking a 4 month break (due to college work) is the revell 1/72 F104G Starfighter of the West German Air Force, course a plane that had a deadly reputation in Germany but I'm looking forward to its 3 tone camo

Rumour has it Mavericks’ Super Hornet is now flying as a Blue Angel. There’s no doubt that airframe will end up on display as a museum piece. It’s story is too special to lose.

Great build! Very nice catch on the lighter gray trailing edges but the Super Hornets have not flown with the early non-blanketed ECS exhausts in 10-15 years. That is something Revell never updated on this old mold boxing - along with the prototype-style RAM covers on the pylons. :-D

I thought about getting this, but after looking at it, and reading, It is the exact same F-18 Kit revell has had for years, with just different decals, so I opted out of this one. nice build regardless.
Yep you're correct. They've tarted up the original 2005 model with fresh box and new decals. It's a pretty labour intensive build.

You can add the Steel Beach resin update for the ECS vents at the back of the aircraft

Wow, amazing detail work! Thank you for showing all of the steps involved. It seems like I have lots to learn. I've never done any of that fine air brushing that you do, and that's something I would love to learn. It also impressed me how you removed that seem on the top of the cockpit glass. edged it with the knife, then used fine sand paper to buff down the rest, then used polishing paste to get rid of the haze, that was great! You used a lot of products and technique I'm not familiar with. Talented work , I love it.
I started scale modeling just one year ago, I've been working with various kits non stop. All I can say is that practice makes perfect and combined with videos like these, you'll reach another level of talent.😊
Hey I have that kit and I’m working on it, but did yours come with a pilot figure? Also what colors did you use on what part of the fuselage my instruction manual is in black and white and I’m supper confused. Thank you for the help
I don't have the Maverick F-18E but I have the original Revell (pre- Revell Germany Aquisition) F-18E and F-18F kits.

When I was studying in Korea, I once visited a hobby shop in a mall in Seoul.
It was hard to find and at the top level, next to a Lego shop, video games and airsoft.
The shop was so big ! At least 40-50m2 (roughly. It was at least bigger than my apartment) of surface filled with model kit boxes, paints and all. I was drooling in front of these alleys !
The only thing preventing me from buying was because I didn't see myself walking around Seoul with one or more boxes. And then take the KTX :D

Great build as usual! The C versions of the Hornet looks so poor. These E and F versions that are 30% larger looks more badass. To bad you didn't put more armament on that build, the Hornet looks like a beast with more weapons/tanks. Great build thou! 👍

Do you think the Quinta Studios 3d Cockpit Decals for the F/A-18E would fit this model? Yeah, it's made with the Hasegawa kit in mind but there can't be too much difference if they're the same aircraft.

So how is refreshed Aqueous line? Is there significant difference to precious formula? Are they still sticky after hours/days as Mr Hobby paints used to be?
i had been using revell undercoat ...but now i use use a plain generic primer in a rattle can it levels realy well
For those that don’t know, that One Shot primer is the same as Badger Stylenrez and UMP.
For the tail where the rudders are the decal was more complicated because mine wasn’t two blue straight lines

I've built this kit. It's a VERY fiddly kit requiring LOTS of filling, sanding and rescribing.
You have some very good and interesting videos, however, could you kindly activate the multi-language subtitle option? in order to better understand what you explain in Spanish, :)
