Great review! Excited to hear what you think about your Hyperlite2 set when you get it. I've about 10 skates in on my hyperlite2 set and love the blocker and pads but the glove has definitely been an adjustment. I'm a big 590 guy but I just can't seem to get comfortable in this glove.
@@L7spider Nope, this is my first Bauer glove. I've mostly had CCM and True gloves so I expected an adjustment period but the neoprene pinky and thumb loops just feel so weird and the "grippy" material in the finger stalls, IMO, is anything but grippy. It constantly feels like this glove is trying to slide off my hand. Probably going to look in to the Vapor90 a bit more as I don't mind a 580 otherwise I'll just go back to a 9x3 glove.
@@Phil1p33 ok. I asked because I did like my Hyperlite 1 glove. When talking to my custom guy at Pure Goalie, he did mention about the inner palm material getting wet and “slippery”, so that is one of the things I changed going custom.
Love my Supreme Mach set! I dialed the leg pads in using my buddies suggestion and bought some volleyball knee pads to help reduce the stiff feeling when in the butterfly, he uses those with the Bauer Vapor knee guards. I use mine with the Bauer Supreme knee guards and I have no issues. To get the pads to “bend” while in a resting position you should loosen the straps around your calf and knee. Did you use the “professor” strap? It’s all personal preference, if you’re a Vaughn guy then Bauer won’t necessarily work for you. Can’t wait to see the Hyperlite 2 set! My custom Bauer Mach leg pads should be here soon! Can’t wait to get them!
I already use volleyball knee pads (been doing it since the 90’s), so that wasn’t an issue. I agree with you about loosening the straps around the calf, but as I said in the video, I found I could only loosen them so much because they weren’t that long. I would have liked to be able to loosen them a bit more.
@@cw2lido just some cheap Nike ones you can get at any store that sells sporting goods. They are fairly small. Just enough to provide a little extra padding.
Vapor leg pad question. Ive always used softer pads. Velocity and RGT2 leg pads. I want to try something stiffer with big rebounds. I ordered the Vapor X5 leg pads and wore them about the house. I retuned them because the leg channel is not comfortable like the GT2 or Velocity. Do you not notice that as much when you’re on the ice?
I think it’s just a personal feel preference and if you didn’t like them when you tried them on in your house, you probably wouldn’t like them on the ice either.
Just curious how tall you are, I'm debating ordering new pads and have the same ankle to knee as you & floor to knee. The charts say 33 or 32 typically for vaughn or Brians. Im 5'10
5’11. Go by the ATK or FTK though, not height. I wear a 33 in Brian’s. I wear a 34 in Vaughn, but my Vaughn’s are custom ordered with the soft build and soft boot, so they fit more like an older pad. If I was to get stock Vaughn pads, I’d go 33.
@L7spider thank's! I'm currently wearing V3's in a 35 right now. I knew I'd be going down a couple inches with the new pads. Thinking about ordering either new Brian's Iconik or Vaughn SLR 4's.
Im weird i love the stiff knee block but i hate stiff pads. I orderd custom so made it 2xpro stiffness.

@@L7spider oh interesting. I didn't know you could change that at custom. Do you happen to remember what option that was and what you selected?
@@Phil1p33 it’s what is on the Mach. Called Mach grip print.
Exactly how u feel about the gear is how I felt. Especially the Mach glove, just a weird feel. Not for me. The pads also to stiff for me.
Good review

@@Solovey28 you’d definitely need a small. My measurements are larger than yours and even I’m between a small and medium in the Mach.
