Chad and Mindy are single-handedly destroying the trope of "the only black people dying first in a horror movie" by replacing it with a new trope "the only black people will not die even if realistically they probably would have due to the severity of their injuries". I actually agree with this a lot of the other horror franchises are extremely inconsistent and don’t measure to the point the sequels fails to even live up to the original (most specifically the Texas chainsaw massacre, Friday the 13th, and a nightmare on elm street)
Scream is a series I am always hyped to see a new release of. 4 completely revitalized my interest, and I love that the new movies pay homage to Wes Craven's work as they continue his legacy.

A fun but sad fact: Melissa who plays Sam when she was saying “it just sucks being this hated” it hit close to home with her because some people didn’t like her in scream 5 and hated her which is sad but seeing Sam in this movie they better rethink their answers

I ended up REALLY loving Sam in this movie. I was one of those people that wasn't a "big" fan of her in 5, did I hate her? Lord no. She was a fun new addition, but I found myself more involved in Tara. But THIS movie?! I was ROOTING for Sam!!

At 30:38 when Gale says when you lose that one person you just keep going, Dewey's theme score played for a few seconds. You know, that music that always played when Dewey appeared onscreen. I'll never in my life forget it and I liked that they played it in a moment where Gale was reminiscing about him and relating to another character.
The convenient store scene and he keeps talking while ghost face is killing... the cut to "there are people who are dying" had me 💀💀

I’ve seen this movie 7 times in theaters and far too many reactions. But every single time the synchronized wipe of the blade gives me chills. On opening night I never heard an audience audibly gasp and cheer within 3 seconds.

Richie's dad convinced himself that he wanted to kill Sam because after seeing the photograph of Richie's body with everything Sam did to Richie when she killed him, he was certain that she was a killer just like her dad Billy, and she had to be stopped. But dude wasn't fooling anyone... he just wanted revenge. Ironically, HE'S a killer just like his SON. As are his other kids.
He and Billy's mother both created a killer and deserve a good slap ✋️

We know Bailey lied when he said his whole family was dead because one faked her death, and it turned out he had TWO other adult children, college age. There could still be a Mrs./Mama Kirsch/Bailey - I still don't understand why Det. Bailey and Quinn and (Real Name) Not Ethan have a different surname than Richie. Ma and Pa Bailey could still have younger children not mentioned, or Det. Bailey could have a bxstard child from some two-bit trollop on the side. I really missed Sidney in this one. And it bums me out to know they wouldn’t pay her. I hope they make it right for 7 and have her come back to close it out. I think the Legacy alongside the new would be amazing. (I also want the opening kill to be a core 4. Raise the bar.) and yes, Tara dying would be the catalyst to really push Sam to the edge.
Although, it is true, she isn't worth as much anymore, I mean the last movie she was barely even in it, so what did she expect?? And she's not even the main protagonist anymore, 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ so it all would be pretty fair what she'd be paid, unfortunately it's not the 90's anymore and they decided to continue with a storyline that makes no sense.......

Something extra sad is the directors said on the Dead Meat podcast that the scene at 22:48 was also referencing the hate Melissa Barrera was given after Scream 5 from the fans for giving what they felt was a bad performance, so it was their way of saying they and the cast all had her back. I'm so glad she's getting her flowers after this movie.

I've been a Zzavid fan for about 2 years now. I have NEVER seen him react to a movie like this! Testament to Scream ripping us all to shreds, congrats Radio Silence. I screamed watching David scream at 34:25 honey. I have NEVER heard him react like that, I feel awful that I was glued watching his reaction when he was going through such turmoil. This reaction easily jumped to one of my top 3 for David and Nicksaysboo too. And David, honey, if you can somehow continue making reactions over 40 minutes, girl, I will do ANYTHING!

CAN WE ALL PLEASE just take a moment to appreciate the fact that David here didn't see this in the theatre LITERALLY because he just loves us too much and KNEW we would love seeing his raw reaction to a series he loves with all of his heart? I feel so unbelievably spoiled, I watched this series for the first time with David because the first movie gave me a fear of knives as a small 8 year old kid and I never could bring myself to watch them growing up for that reason until now as a 25 year old. Especially alone. In this one in particular, I cried with him, laughed with him, screamed with him, made myself watch because David was here with me and we both watched it together for the first time. I loved this so much, thank you so much for watching this with us for the first time David. You've made me love this series despite my major fear of knives, and overall love you more when I didn't think it was possible. I can't wait to watch Scream 7 with you!!!

Oh this movie was SO good. From that opening with Samara to seeing what you THINK is the killer's face to bringing Kirby back, to that scene with Gayle, the FAKEOUT with one of the supposed victims... This was candy. Effing horror candy and I loved every second of it.

The thing I love about this movie was how aggressive Ghostface was. In the older movies, we still got aggressive Ghostface. But there was a lot more humor mixed in. Here we got some humor in there. Like when he was confused when Gale hung up on him. But aside from that, it was pure violence.
Also, when I first watched this, I thought for sure Ethan would be a disposable victim after the movie kept trying to hint that he was Ghostface repeatedly. So you can imagine my surprise when the masks came off at the end.

Girl I was so excited to see this movie on the day of premiere and I couldn’t contain myself with the experience. I screamed sm during Gale’s sequence like when she got stabbed with the glass I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOO and a couple of ppl in my theater were laughing at me freaking out lmao. Sam didn’t turn the party in scream 5 but she was the party in scream 6 sm better than she was in 5. Rip to Samara Weaving and that gorgeous dress she had that got stabbed and stained with blood.

31:07 This is exactly how I felt. It’s actually my #1 complaint about this movie. It just felt like it lacked some real impact or stakes cause none of our favs or continued characters died. They almost had me at Chad but then they retconned that (although I was cheering and screaming along with everyone else that he survived when I saw it the day it released. Deadass everyone was chanting “CHAD CHAD CHAD CHAD!” 😭😭)

for a split second there I thought that we were going to get vigilante ghostface, and i immediately thought it was sam, now i want that for her and i think the perfect catalyst would be tara dying. that would be such a gag.
I love Chad as a character and seeing Mason Gooding do literally anything is a treat, but Chad either has to die in Scream 7 or just not get stabbed. Dude's been stabbed upwards of 20 times at this point and is still kicking, it's getting silly at this point lmao. At the very *least* give him some kinda nerve damage, just *something* to show that the knife wounds had a lasting effect. Dewey gets stabbed just once in Scream and we see the effects of it in Scream 2. It just sucks that the Core Four are all so likeable because I don't want to see any of them die, but from a writing standpoint, we can't have the four of them survive in *every* movie or there aren't any stakes at all.
But on a positive note, can we discuss how much Melissa stepped it up in this movie? I wasn't impressed by her at all in Scream 5, and was a bit disappointed that Sam would be our leading lady going forward but this movie completely changed my mind. I love a final girl that's just as vicious as the killers she's up against. She doesn't do "scared victim" very well, but seems right at home in the "angry survivor" archetype. Though I do wonder what direction that they can go with her from this point on. I've seen some people say they want her to be Ghostface in the future but I feel like that would just undermine the whole character and would be kinda cheap.

Just like a couple people on here have saved this franchise just keeps building it has the same formula but just tweaked a bit in each movie. I got to this movie and reaction a little late ,but it did not disappoint!

Gale is smart/quick af throughout her entire fight scene! She lived bc she was always ahead of Ghostface. The balcony to trap him outside, the panic room, using a silencer gun with at least 10 bullets, calling his phone to know where he was, throwing his ass, and stopping his final blow like the fighter she is! Gale is a Final Girl, point blank period 💯

The latter kill was my favourite in the movie, so intense. Also disappointed no one in the main cast died, i liked them all but it would have been more impactful. When I thought Chad die i felt something, then he was somehow alive.
