2:20 "This is a player btw"
cant know that for sure we need the entire community to verify this
more like a Playah
He truly was a player
Real
haha
15:34 that's actually badass
What isn’t badass on trackmania
But yes that is particularly badass
if i see another person make the "x views x seconds you fell off" joke the country of france is no more
0 views 56 seconds you fell off
2 replies 46 mins you fell off
11 likes 48 minutes? You fell off
40k views 3 hours he fell off (please get rid of France)
1 hr and the country of France is unfortunately still there
the pinch grip is extremely common in RC stuff like quadcopters
yeah, that was what I thought, he probably grew up doing model planes and never learned how to do the other way when getting into games
Yeah its quite stabilizing, if you try to just move your thumb back and forth (even doing it in the air in front of you while paying attention to it), you wont have consistent movement, but using your index finger to stabilize it gives it pretty fine control with less chance of a thumb twitch launching you in a direction. Love to see it
Pinch? Isnt what's gameers commonly call claw grip ?
I just tried it and actually kinda like it, less strain on the hand and i feel like you have greater precision, though i lack the practice with it, kinda want to try it for a while and see. it'd be a good backup for when my thump hurts.
@captainphoton1693
no. The claw is with thumb on stick, pointer finger curled up to press the buttons.
20:06 the throttle matches the music
underrated comment lmfao i love this
This is insane xd
So relieved that Wirt went back to look at that wood turn.
It's the year of the WirtualTV channel! Keep up the amazing work!!
When isn't it
yeah he's just pushing the main chanel

"So far, nothing too spectacular" after my record 😅. In all seriousness though, great video Wirtual! Been watching you long before I decided to actually pick up TM. Never thought Id see my name in one of your videos, I'm still super new to the game XD
Nick any world record is still impressive, also here before this comment goes famous
Ayoo
Thank you for sharing this. Sandder is an old TMU player (probably started with Tm Original), part of the very successful CMC team at the time (you can see other CMC names on some of the maps). It's refreshing to see some of these old names pop up. Among other ones I know are French players Lolomax (/Grolomax on your slow Snow COTD video the other day) and Cibermix which I saw on few maps in this video as well, as well as Roa who was very skillful at all Original environments in TMU at the time.
7:36 when I was into RC boats, planes and helicopters, i saw quiet a lot of people using this grip. Especially for planes and helicopters.
But RC controllers have a lot longer sticks + many of them have hight regulation, so it is much more convinient to pinch. In general it is better for precision near the center.
Every now and then I catch myself using that grip (I’ve only ever had 1 or 2 $50 max drones in my life)
7:34 I used to pinch my steering analogue on my controller my entire childhood, it actually gives you more precision depending on how your brain processes information, i think. When you pinch, you can make the analogue stick go exactly where you intend it, where using one thumb can be more indirect. If you were to be someone who uses their controller this way, you're kind of naturally inclined to, and you naturally started holding your controller like that from the beginning because it felt more comfortable.
It's true. The body mechanics work very well with the pinch grip. There's two joints moving a lot to produce very little stick movement, that makes it very precise and repeatable. The normal thumb grip is the opposite - very little joint movement for a lot of stick travel. The pinch grip is still degenerate, but it makes a lot of sense for a track which requires minimal movement.
15:38
this is sick 🤯🤯🤯
ngl wirtual has been and is and will stay as the best trackmania streamer i have ever watched .Goodwork, and keep it up
wirtual: *sees an amzing turn*
wirtual: That is hot.
One thing I've always noticed in Rally Games is that Analog has always reigned supreme because of the way dirt is designed to act in most Games.
I played Grand Turismo 3 on PlayStation 2 since my Childhood, and have set Personal Bests on the Rally Tracks that have beaten some records by mere Seconds (intended way ofc). I knew which Car and Tuning Upgrades were the best to use for Rally Tracks (A Suzuki Car if I remember), the lines you needed to take, and the overall route for beating such tracks. As for Trackmania, the records lay the same for Rally, and it's because of how dirt behaves in this Game and many other Racing Games.
Dirt (across all Racing Games that I know) tends to have what's called a Slip-Friction Mechanic (the Car oscillates on a set interval between Slipping and Gripping the Terrain). This is what gelps Developers simulate Dirt in Racing Games (most other programs can do this for you by changing slip values or by changing the roughness of terrain to add grip sections to the track, but this is the typical way most Racing Games have done it).
Because of the Slip-Friction Mechanic of Dirt, it's not a good idea to take the Ideal Racing Line (a Racing line in which you brake early and turn sharper to get more Acceleration and staighter lines out of a turn). This is why most Keyboard Players have Records on other Roads besides Dirt or Rally. In the Rallying Scenario however, there's a special line that Rally Drivers use called the Ideal Rally Line, or the Drifting Line (a Racing line where you approach and initiate a Drift to keep your Car on the inside line while still preserving Speed through the turn). In Rally Racing, precision is key to maintaining a clean RRL, and Digital Control Systems (like Keyboards with On /Off Input states) do not have the same level of precision that Analog Systems do, which is why Analog Systems (Like Controllers or Joysticks) are superior on Dirt or Slip-Friction Terrain.
Hope this has educated some of you folks. Controller Users have an edge with percision, and in fact its in far more ways than one 😊
Oh hell ya, right away the background music is the excellent Orchestra version of Gurudo Valley from the Zelda 25th anniversary CD! I love that track so much!
7:36
I had a friend of mine who used to play competitive Super Smash Bros with me, and this was the exact grip he used on his stick as well. Threw me off completely when I first saw him play LOL
plup, cody, and i think hbox all play like this too.
I bet none of the top records are keyboard.
Nevermind. Tomasus is nutty
He literally said the opposite. Maybe watch the video before commenting.
@@corbintinnin5892 And he said he "bet". Maybe read comment before commenting.
*ing
@@corbintinnin5892 id expect exactly that much immediate edginess from a kid with an anime pfp. stick to watching cartoons and anime lilbro 🤣🤣
I appreciate the many acknowledgments of us from twitch. We can't say hi back, but they still make us feel like we matter. Thank you twitch for being considerate!
who hurt you? @@Hannah_The_Heretic
@@Hannah_The_Heretic ??? what are you on
I don't respond to comments that add nothing to a conversation.
thx for your response@@Hannah_The_Heretic
I would second this. Hi twitch viewers.
that zelda 25th anniversary orchestra goes hard
7:39: pinching is actually a well used technique among FPV quad pilots. its more precise
"Infinite dopamine if you can go into a map and do this" is exactly why I started every single game I've ever played
If i were a mapper i would make a map called 'motorcycle' and have the theme be that you gotta tilt on two wheels all over
I just picture Granady having the meme laser eyes when they announced the snow and rally cars lol. Seriously, he's an unstoppable god with them.
1:56 HOW DOES HE HAVE THE OLD STADIUM CAR???? I NEEEEEED IT
there're tmnf and tm2 cars on maniapark :)
Best main channel vid yet
Rally C1 Reloaded, the one at 5:00 is a track I really enjoyed myself on keyboard with action key two. Very playable, and I'm not surprised he got that record. Keyboard would probably be easier for consistency. Really don't like snow car, but I found rally car pretty cool even on keyboard!
12:24 trackmania's version of synchronized ice skating. Beautiful
It’s not Rally if it’s easy!
I watched the whole video pretending Wirtual was a turtle in his hoodie shell
Exetic is a known tmu player especially known in roc from Germany
13:20 dark Kirby is a small tm UA-camr who makes great content - wirtual you should enter a Kirby of the day sometime
7:36 That's how I used the N64 controller as a kid since I was too young to read how to do it correctly.
No way this guy says "quantum slide" unironically
exactly man its so annoying, its just a noslide
@@benjt8680 It's not, it's a speedslide with full grip. He's made a video on it, but basically the tyre marks are >99% covered and it just gives a huge amount of extra speed
I'm trying my best to get into this game but Nadeo has been making it so hard to learn
Honestly this video dragged me out from despair after recent events in Moscow. Thx Wirtual you made me feel a little bit better.
what was happening in Moscow I don't see anything on the news in Canada
I believe there was a shooting and fire at a Moscow Theatre.@@vdqm
@@vdqm 10-12 hours ago there was a terror attack in one of the huge malls. Group of armed people went in and started to shoot civilians. 60+ got killed by them. After that they set concert hall on fire which led to more death from suffocating and fire. Special forces got to there too late to catch them cause of Friday’s traffic jams. So for now every structure tries to find them.
UPD. All of them got caught trying to get through Rus-Ukr border.
if people are this precise with rally tilts, I can hardly wait to see what comes of the inevitable desert car
at 17:13 he drove diagonally through the booster to increase he distance he traveled over the boost
15:31 iv seen this kind of stuff in Mario Kart of all games
mk8 rainbow road had this kind of stuff on nearly every turn, its crazy.
Great video, Wirtual.
Thanks for stopping by our club today!
KID ICARUS MUSIC GRAHHHHH
The Ralley car is so much more fun to watch than the snow car. Maybe it's a good thing they released it in this order.
Forever.SL's grip is much more precise though. It's also a grip you commonly see in fpv racing as "thumb control" is much less precise than using "pinch grip".
Nice to see the RallyCar's engine sound hasn't changed for the past 21 years lol
my question about the rally car: What is the point of steering past 40% if it's not useful? What if they just made that the new 100%
look how quick it spins on ice at 100%.
i love falling asleep to your videos, not in a mean way, youre nice
21:05 F to the guy who's so out of the loop that he's surprised they aren't playing on keyboard
lmao
What are the best runs done on a keyboard? That would be a good video idea...
God, that Kid Icarus Uprising soundtrack is just... it just takes me back. God, that game was so good. It was actually a perfect game.
In competitively melee, we call that "claw grip"!
Well specifically, left hand claw, where right hand claw is more common, but there are some people who claw both hands!
Entering the booster with a certain speed (low) and angle gives you more of a boost then just hitting it head on while accelerating fully. (You rarely hit a booster at low speeds unless the map starts off with a booster.) I think Granady kept this to himself.
Forever’s way of holding the controller is called “the claw”
The fact I see samifying here just blows my mind
That 25th anniversary of legend of zelda music is just pure 🔥
I hope you have a great day, love the content, been watching is wr on 19. Really appreciate your work. ❤️
Wirtual really loves when WR are edging
The rally car is so precise and quick in steering, and drives less fast... i think the smaller dirt/rally blocks really complement that instead of having wider tracks
i mean, real rallye cars also drive through impossibly narrow tracks at impossibly high speeds.
The two-wheel action off the edge of the wood tracks is bonkers
11:55 is a genious race craft
You can only guess, how's Forever trained to hold stick that way😂
Big corgiloafer moment at 5:30
That CorgiLoafer guy is pretty cool, I guess
The wood turns with no inside wall/kerb... that's so satisfying!
Dont feel discouraged Wirtual- @ the 20:41 part i need to completley stand still and tab gas so i can make the turns at all. And Sandder just full speed through :D
Taking advantage of the car tilt on wood to take ridiculously inside lines is so cool.
15:35 for the moment 😀
don't know if you will see this wirt, and im sure you've gotten this question a lot. Do you think "custom" action keys would work or make it too complicated?
Like if you are grinding a map should you be allowed to figure out what the action keys should be set to and then you set them on certain turns.
By too complicated I mean for the average player they would never know the ones to use unless they do external research or watch streams to figure out the "correct" percentages.
Sounds broken. People would be able to set up the perfect angle for every turn… takes skill out of the picture
7:40 tried this myself
works so well
15:44 - I think he means RALLY RALLY nice.
It's not infinite dopamine to be good at something, like the best at it, you stop feeling when you stop doing better, and once you're among the best there are very few moments of a genuine feeling of accomplishment.
6:28 Funniest moment in my opinion
Control stick pinch gives more 360° control (especially movements that require precision followed by quickness) at the cost of shoulderbuttons, it's probably not necessary for a game with only one axis but don't sleep on the technique!
3:42 "TomaSUS"
Gotta love that they drive the stadium car more like a rally car than the rally car
21:25 Whether you believe you can, or you can't; you're right.
Actual rally roads are often skinny(!) dirt tracks. Dirt, or snow north of the North Sea.
2:19 jumpscare for Wirtual
Sandder was locked tf in for that run, jesus Christ
Would definitely like to see some really tight tracks, proper rally style.
Samifying plays TRACKMANIA?!?!
And geometry Dash!
15:05
Wirtual glitch 😂
sandder is really in a league of his own
21:48 - I'd rather watch videos of other people doing it and smoke a bowl.... 💨🥴😂
16:00 kid icarus music nice
3:44 TomaSUS* its in his name man, u cant skip it...
As a non trackmania player, this shit looks insane for most of the runs. I think I'll just stick to my drifting in Forza...
Good main channel video
I didn't even know the rally car was in the game until like 4 or 5 days ago lol
2:27
if it was tmnf, they would dig in his inputs and replay frame by frame.
And if they found nothing, they would dig in his personal history and criminal records 😂
campaign maps having names is such a nice thing for some reason
Seeing the difference between first and second was cool but some maps you didn’t press second so those maps were very boring to watch as there was no comparison to the margins and lines of the top players
i clicked thinking it was a video about rally cars... well it is but not what i was expecting lol
i should pick up the game
i thought the community agreed on not calling it quantum-slide anymore. its known from long ago and called noslide sd.
1:52 Is that a TMNF skin
Yes
Its "ralying"
Those spaces are already bigger than Gorlock Destroyer.
Nice vid wirtual love the content
bro only watched the first minute of the video 💀
yes sir you already know @@cosmic2616
7:46 it is not the grip that is a much more precise way of controlling
Been really enjoying this week+ of all these new videos.
Still don't play Trackmania though.
wirtual is the on youtuber to have zelda music while watching trackmania
Its funny how wirtual is now asking the same questions weve been asking of him this whole time.
The shortcutting the outside wheels over the turns is strait out of initial-d
