They deserved international success! The 80's had sooo many top Australian bands! There is nothing today.
Yeah its ironic - only 15 million back then and yet there was so much talent. Now we have nearly double that population and barely any talent.

Revisiting this for the first time in over 35 years. All I can say is I'm blown away. It's simply stunning... How the band never made it big overseas is a mystery. Comparisons to Spandau Ballet and Simple Minds are very, very valid. KITK are at least as good, if not better. The production values on their albums is still almost unbelievable...

@@SpookyFox1000 Don't overdo it. It's pretty cool all right, but there's thousands to choose from, many even better than this and there's nothing at all wrong with this one! Which shows you how great the 80s were, not that you'd know it with the truly warped and inaccurate version of it that remains in tiny slivers on radio today!
And there's tonnes of those, more than in any other decade. And most of the ordinary and the shite from it is the stuff that's so beloved and revered. Oh dear!
Finding this song on a dusty old record I pulled from a thrift store bin changed the way I see music. The rad old 80s album artwork, the dust-covered sleeve, and this incredible gem shining through the dusty old wax changed the way I see music.

I think I've worked out who the girl is at the start. Is it Aussie actress Caitlin McDougall? From Channel 7 early 2000's series "Always Greener" and the series "The Alice?" She's married in real life to Erik Thompson who was also in The Alice as well as many other shows over the years.
