Awesome video!! Thanks so much. You saved me from buying a new battery. So I decided to look on UA-cam and voila... I found this video. Thanks again!

Hmm 🤔 I’m not sure if it would work on the Mavic 2 Pro. However this fix is basically for the BMS so it’s worth a try. Really it’s about the only option other than replacement or sending it in for repair. Wish I had a better answer for you. Thanks for watching!

I haven’t tried with the spark, but in wouldn’t think it could hurt to try. Let me know if you are able to get it working, I’m sure there are others that might want to know as well. Thanks for watching!
Did an update with 30% battery remaining. Something wrong middle 2 lights indicating failed firmware. I followed the steps on this video. I charged the battery, tried to connect to it with the pc exe app over USB. Couldn't connec. Then I connected with the DJI controller and on phone says inconsistent firmware..! Updated the firmware and the battery returned to normal!
My battery is completely discharged so I can’t update it this way unfortunately. I sent the battery back along with the aircraft and RC as they all bricked after a failed firmware update. They returned the drone and RC fixed, but the battery was not fixed..
Unfortunately you need a battery with a charge in order to get the computer to recognize the Mavic. If the battery is having the same issue mine had there is no way to update or charge it after it has lost its charge. Sorry for the bad news 😒
I would try a different battery to see if the Mavic will power up with it. You may have an issue with the Mavic. You could also try installing the battery with and without the USB cable plugged into the Mavic to see if there is any change. I wish I had a better answer for you but I personally haven’t experienced that. Let me know if you get it working and how you fixed it. Thanks for watching 🙂.

Yess.. my is same... I cannot upgrade with dead battery with two leds. I can do this only with good battery. How could you do it with this battery? Your video is nice but you not showed it the most important thing.
Once the battery is dead you can no longer upgrade it. However if the two lights are still flashing it is not dead yet and can still be upgraded using the method shown in this video. Hope this helps.
@@GlenReed The firmware is the newestt, I tried plugged in the battery many times (appr. 15..20x) (with two leds and 12,5+ volts) but the drone not started up - never... this is the problem. Hi glen, i just bought a new mavic pro. I plug The battery into the charger and it only show one light and then off and doing the same thing over and over again with no result. Can i do your suggestion with this matter?

David Hunter thank you for watching! I have not had to deal with that issue myself. It wouldn’t hurt to try any updates available to see if that cures the problem. However, it does sound like one or more of the cells in your battery is having issues. Sorry I wasn’t more of a help.

Same thing, I have one battery stored onboard the drone and two in the bag. The onboard battery is fine but the other two are dead. my rc won't download the latest firmware update very time i try it says update failed. any help? i tried switching cables, uninstalling assistant 2 and everything
Exactly what happend to us. But the Update was interrupted by a "battery update error" and could not complete. Probabely because the battery is almost empty and must be at least at 50%.
@@GlenReed DJI just confirmed it. Our battery is broken and not so intelligent anymore. Even after fully charging, the update did not work and it continued behaving strangely. Sad!
I have the same issue on my DJI Mavic air battery. I will do the same process and see if it works. So far none of my batteries for the mavic pro have any issues at all except for the left front props for some reason hitting the body of the drone and crashed here in Manila, Philippines while on vacation. I don't know what's causing it. No pilot error. Only flew it a couple of times and the damn thing just went sideways and landed on top of a convenience store. I had a phantom 3, spark, air and pro and never crashed one til now with the Mavic Pro.
I have an authentication failure warning stopping me from using one battery even though it’s fully charged so will try this and let you know how I get on . Many thanks 👌👍
Sorry for the late response, I’ve been at work and didn’t have time to look up the link. Thank you for letting me know the link is no longer working so I can update it 😊
I have the Fly More Combo, I always use to charge all the batteries together after use almost 100% of them. Some months ago the battery "A" start to appear an error message on control and also on app, when I try to charge it, it doesn't charge properly. Months ago I solve the problem updating the firmware, but at this time it doesn't work anymore. I already downgrade the firmware, reset to factory settings, update the firmware again, but it doesn't fix the problem. I suppose that the battery goes to the space and I will need to buy a new one. In Brazil, nothing works well, so, I can't contact DJI because they will not help me. Thanks for your video.
Sorry to hear that. I’ve had mine for over a year now so I’m wondering how long the batteries will last before I have to replace them. Still happy with the Mavic though, I got some cool footage of whales up close a few weeks ago when my family and I went to the beach! Totally awesome!!
I bought a second hand battery off of the internet, with this problem. Except when it arrived the board was 100% dead, would not charge either from the dji hub. The battery I bought as a project for £15 the previous owner had hacked the battery out of the box. We charged the battery directly from a large volt. / amp controllable power supply. The hardware holds a full charge. The board no lights. Now you have. A thick red and black power cable to the cells and four telemetry lines three red one black. All can be disconnected. However upon cutting the red / black and disconnecting the telemetry the error reverts back to the guy in the video. I suspect even when "fully " discharged the main board is holding its memory, there is no on board battery but 4x buck converters and two surface mount pic controllers. Somehow you need to fully discharge the battery. Th mavic to battery connector can read zero volts but the battery to board lines can be at 12 volts, th board controls the output to the mavic. So now I am going to do the firmware upgrade, before my mavic battery mod project begins :-) good luck!
Augustine Sullivan that’s awesome!! Glad it was a easy fix, much better then having to deal with customer support. Thanks for taking the time to let us know how you fixed it. Now go get some amazing shots with that thing lol 😎
I just got the Mavic Pro Fly more combo and charged all the batteries. I did everything like your supposed to. I flew all three batteries after they were charged. I went to charge them all again and one battery would not come back on or take a charge. No lights on it nothing just like it was dead. The batteries were not dropped or were ever crashed right out of the box. Just one flight and dead. I've let DJI know so it is in the process. I'm wondering if that is a firmware issue. I'm just trying to get all the info I can about this problem that I'm having. Not sure it will help my problem but maybe somebody watching can help. BTW, Great job on your video.
plutonium235 Sorry to hear that. I wouldn’t think it’s a firmware issue, sounds more like a failed battery. Hopefully they take care of it for you. Good thing you got the fly more combo, I’ve heard they take some time to replace them. Thanks for watching 🙂
Had the same problem with a fresh from the box never flown Mavic and battery. Sadly, this procedure didn't work for me - the battery is still in the two-middle-lights state. Working with DJI on getting a replacement. (Their customer support is ridiculous - they want multiple images, screen shots, and even a short movie showing the problem. Given how widespread the issue is, all of that constitutes an unnecessary PITA - just replace the freaking battery already, sheesh.)
+J Lawrence Buell iv Wow, what a bummer! Sorry to hear that happened. I've heard a bit about their customer service being difficult. Did you get any extra batteries or was that your only one?
I bought the Fly More combo, and a spare battery besides, so I was still able to go flying. DJI's customer service is trying to be helpful but the process is ludicrous. Now that they have my images and the videos, they agree that I qualify for a replacement. But rather than send me a new battery and a label to use to return the bad one in that box, I have to fill out a very detailed Word document they provided and send that in with proof of purchase (in spite of having provided proof of purchase with the original ticket). Unquestionably the most cumbersome defective product return process I have ever run into.
Geeezzz, what a hassle! I hope I never have to deal with warranty! Glad you had a extra battery though, would have been a real disappointment to have to wait to fly it. It would be nice if the sent the new one first with a return label for the original battery like a lot of other place do.
Tony Rödin Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback! Its a difficult balance as every device plays things differently, definitely something I will keep in consideration for the next video :) Happy Thanksgiving!
I feel that I’m fighting a loosing battle! I had another support guy email me with the same answer as the first guy! What niggles me is. Two batteries in eleven months faulty with Cell broken, what ever that means, and only 10 minutes flying time total!!! No hard landings or crashes or any sign of damage! It’s down to bad quality and workmanship that’s what pees me off! “It’s beyond my control” Glen, and they won’t admit it! They will be sending me a form to me to fill out on how they handled my case! Well it won’t be nice what I put on that form!! I really feel I’m being Ripped off! The drone won’t be a year old until 12 June! Anyway Glen will let you know of the outcome buddy!

i try with another battery and turn on! i think maybe the battery than i need to fix dont have enough charge to turn on the mavic... well, i call dji. Thanks for the help :D
my rc won't download the latest firmware update very time i try it says update failed. any help? i tried switching cables, uninstalling assistant 2 and everything
+Jose Velez have you tried using the app instead of DJI assistant?
it doesn't connect to anything, any help? it just stays at connecting
how can i update it through the app when its doesn't connect to the drone?
+Jose Velez are you having the same battery issue described in this video?
no not really just curious of you would know about my problem
Exactly what happend to us. But the Update was interrupted by a "battery update error" and could not complete. Probabely because the battery is almost empty and must be at least at 50%.
The battery definitely needs to have a good charge. For me this happened when the battery was fully charged.
It's not an extension file, it's an executable file. When you click on it, it executes itself.
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to correct me.
I have an authentication failure warning stopping me from using one battery even though it’s fully charged so will try this and let you know how I get on . Many thanks 👌👍
Thank you. Hope the fix comes easy for you.
Can you please send the link as I can’t seem to get the same dji page that displays on your video. All the best Dave
Forget the last message, found it and going through the process now, many thanks, hopefully it will fix the issue 🤔🏴
Sorry for the late response, I’ve been at work and didn’t have time to look up the link. Thank you for letting me know the link is no longer working so I can update it 😊
Tks !!
Thanks for watching!
Great tut man... wish I saw this before i fully discharged mine. now its dead.
Thank you, and thanks for watching! Sorry to hear about the battery. Hope it is still under warranty, they sure aren't cheep.
Thanks mate, yes it is still under warranty. Just a pain having to send it off and wait but could be worse. Happy flying !
Saved my life lol
Glad I could help 🙂 Thanks for watching!
+Mark Willims Wow, sounds like quite a project! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
Got it fixed was the cigarette lighter /wall outlet converter when I charged them from car they charged up 100%'Thank You
Augustine Sullivan that’s awesome!!
It would be nice if the sent the new one first with a return label for the original battery like a lot of other place do.
my battery had the same issue. but now it wont even charge and im unable to perform the above task. Any ideas anyone ?
+shakir ishak Thanks for watching! Are the lights still blinking on the battery or is the battery completely depleted?
mine is completely depleted =(
Luiz Fernando Araújo unfortunately once depleted there's no way to charge it or program it. Sorry to hear that, hopefully you still have warranty.
I m not sure. how can I check warranty? thanks for answering
Luiz Fernando Araújo I would give Dji a call, or see if your warranty info is on the website.
Great video, but hard to hear you with the background music ;-)
Tony Rödin Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback! Its a difficult balance as every device plays things differently, definitely something I will keep in consideration for the next video :) Happy Thanksgiving!
I had a full battery .then I watched it update to 2 lights I said o shit . Then it stopped and went back to 4 lights
WOW it used some power updating
LARRY D I agree, every time a new update comes out I get a littler nervous during the process. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate the feedback!
This just happened to me today smh
Thanks for watching hope the video helped you fix it!
Thanks to UA-cam and your video got it fixed THANKS!!!!!!
Did you really call a windows executable an EXTENSION?! *Rewind*play* Oh god you did...
#stupidityShouldHurt
