What helped my grandson with asthma...I put his pillow and mattress in a dust mite proof cover. They zip shut, helped him a lot. Also had to wash his stuffed animals once a week. Also, give her the inhaler, a little while before bedtime, as it makes their heart race, for a bit. He outgrew his, praying she does as well.
I can't believe Beckham's progress. It seems that Blakely is doing well with her breathing. Both of you are such great parents and you also have a good support with your family. Love you channel .

It's great to get her her diagnosed and on preventative care at such a young age. I was constantly in the hospital until I was finally diagnosed around 8. I didn't go for allergy testing and shots until I was about 11 and had a decade of shots because of how many severe allergies I had. Young kids are the most resilient, and I'm sure technology has improved a great deal. Managing my allergies helped my asthma immensely. Good luck with your journey. And reach out for help when you need it. ❤

Good doctor for sure. I have had terrible allergies. Just fyi … make sure her pillow is covered with a bedspread as dust is a big allergen. You have the most compassionate and happy kids. They both have such sweet personalities and Blakely is such a fire cracker! ❤️🇨🇦🙏
My son's allergist suggested that we get him new pillows every year. I switched them out during the spring. The allergist said that we have our head on a pillow longer than any other place and dust mites can build up in the pillow. I bought hypo allergenic pillows each time.
I'm 47 NOW and I've had asthma since I was 15 and what U guy's are doing is major preventative Care and it sounds GREAT!! 💯❤ Cuz when Ur given the steroids to open Ur lungs UP when Ur having a flare up or ruff allergy season, it's such HECK on Ur body! Do not use fabric softeners or fragrance soaps on bed sheets. Baking soda for wash cycle and white vinegar for rinse all natural. No your bedding will not smell like vinegar. I have had asthma all my life and the biggest triggers are fragrances. Candles, frebreze is terrible, aramo therapy stuff is a instant trigger.

That's good they inter react with one another playing etc etc . But glad they also do single stuff with each child . Cause sometimes with a medical child or more then one child all the focus and attention on that one child . But glad they take turns together or separate. And though you don't force anything etc on your children . You also know when to push them but not to hard to achieve stuff . Nice nice swim suit. They both have cool cute laughs

Hi Hughes family, I don't usually comment on your videos and i watch you when your content pops up in my recommended watching,but I'm happy to see that Blakely finally got diagnosed with asthma. Hope she grows out of it and that she can see the allergy doctor soon to find out her allergies. Hopeing she isn't allergic to dogs but if so, I hope you don't have to get rid of your dog's because of that. A little girl the same age as Blakely that we watch is allergic to dogs and her family has 2 of them and thankfully they have not gotten rid of them, they just have to bathe them more often to keep the allergins down for her because they are mainly outdoor dogs and barely inside. As for Beckham, he's recovering so well from surgery and I hope once he gets his casts off,he can swim for rehabilitation therapy to help strengthen his legs and learn to walk a few steps that way by using his legs to paddle in the water.

Your kids are so darn cute!!! I love watching how Beckham is improving in movement so fast. My son had asthma only when he was sick and fortunately he grew out of it. He started at 2 and he was out of it by 5 so I pray that you guys get the same luck with Blakely !!! You two are the best parents ever keep enjoying those cute kids they grow up fast. Mine are 24 and 25 now.

About allergy for a dog, it's the skin that couse that. There is a special shampoo for that!
The best dog for allergy is the poodle, Havanese and the doodle. But if someone think about adopting one, go to the breeder and ask if you can visit 2 times or so. You will know with more dogs of that breed if you tolerate the breed or not.

Aww the daddy daughter date❤ did anyone else notice the heart shape on the ground in the water puddle @5:36 as Blakely was walking...my mom passed in 2019 and I see heart shaped SO much in everyday life, so I def spotted that on the ground💕

I'm giving you this information because I wish I had it growing up. I've had asthma since I was a child, and I never grew out of it. Was on a rescue inhaler and steroidal inhaler and received nebulizer treatments a few times a year. When I was 30, I saw an allergist/immunologist and was diagnosed with mast cell disorder. He put me on Ketotifen and told me it should help with my chronic hives and on the plus side, my asthma. Bro, you have no idea how much it helped my asthma. Its been 5 years and I'm off the steroid inhaler, haven't had a treatment in years and have only used my rescue inhaler when I got sick. Which, by the way, I used to get bronchial infections on the reg. Those also stopped with the medication. So I highly highly highly recommend looking up ketotifen and/or asking your doctor about it. I hope Blakely gets an answer for all the issues going on with her...... Beckham looks so great recovering!!! Keeping you all in my thoughts 🤗🤗💚

My mom had asthma in childhood but wasn't diagnosed until she was an adult. She recently got diagnosed within the last 5 to 10 years or so ago with a rare autoimmune or eosinophilic asthma. So she was able to be put on a newer shot medication once every 6 or 8 weeks. This shot has been amazing for her. It means the difference between hospitalizations yearly and many bouts of bronchitis with always needing nebulizer treatments to now almost no or rarely hospitalizations and only needing the nebulizer treatments sometimes with bronchitis. She still takes her daily preventative inhaler and always has her rescue inhaler ready just in case. But her asthma has improved greatly since she was put on the shots.
Is it me or no that he trying to talk more or make more sounds so so good . And glad they got a plan in motion for her breathing etc etc

My sister didn't find out she had asthma until she was 18 and she was doing this in childhood that little girl is so lucky it was found sooner.

I think Blakely definitely senses that Beckham has different needs, she is so sweet interacting with him (especially being so little). As someone with seasonal allergies and asthma I totally understand and although mine did not go away completely they have improved dramatically. Beckham is doing so well with his recovery it seems, loved his interaction with Gatsby, so cute. Halsey and Blakely look so much alike!
Be sure to brush her teeth after! I wasn’t told that those daily inhalers can really wreak havoc on teeth! Wishing you all well!
Also, fyi, she should rinse her mouth out good after she is done with the inhaler to prevent thrush.

I hope Blakely grows out of it like my son did. He went on to be a long distance runner in High school. There is hope ❤

Having both asthma & allergies myself, I'm sooo glad you have such a great paediatrician for Blakely. Allergies & asthma can be so difficult to get under control if you don't have an experienced health care provider. As a health scientist & advanced first aider, the only thing I would add is to buy local honey if it's available in your area. It's a great natural way to help with allergies to pollens in your local area. You can use the honey as a dip, a glaze, on a sandwich or french toast (instead of syrup), there's a surprising number of things you can do with it. And it's also good in hot drinks when you have a sore throat.
My daughter-in-law didn't get better with her asthma as she grew up. Praying Blakely does grow out of it.
She had parents that refused to stop chain smoking in the house. That was very detrimental to her health. She was in hospital 4 or 5 times at deaths door. Her doctor kept telling her parents that they had to stop smoking around her. Nothing ever changed. The day she turned 18, they gave her a month to move out. Over the next 2 years she saw a change for the better, because of living in clean air. She has a really good vacuum to get dust mites, etc.. none of them smoke now (my son did grrrr) but never around her, she hasn't been hospitalized since moving out 22 years ago. She uses the nebulizer every morning & evening, the inhaler throughout the day and takes a pill daily to keep her asthma in check. Prayers your little one does improve.
Hey Rachel I have severe asthma and I am on three meds two inhealers and then neb three times a day and right now as I am in Illinois it is hot as it is ninety degrees and the heat index 119 and I been having problems breathing today so I am glad to hear blakey is finally doing better
3:00 my son had to do this when he was young. And the spacer is amazing no matter what age.
🥰 I’m so happy they were able to give you a diagnosis to confirm Blakely does have asthma…The quicker the diagnosis the better so they can start the appropriate treatment plan❤️🩹! Crossing my fingers 🤞, Blakely treatments avoids further hospitalization🥰! She did so well taking her inhaler with the pedicure chamber, so proud of you lil Blake! I know it can be scary 😱 my daughter had the same chamber when she was lil, now she has the youth one…thankfully now only when needed..And colds etc! Crossing my fingers Blakely grows out of it too ❤️🩹!

Rachel please ask about a more adjustable stander for Beckham. He is way too tall now for the one you have at home. Set him up for success and crying when he is in it. It looks painful to me. I have a LOT of experience with standers. I agree it's important for him to stand. Hopefully, now that Blakely has gone to the doctor and you guys have figured out what is going on with her and you figured out that she has childhood asthma. She will hopefully get better with the medication that she was provided. My parents and myself can relate to this because my brother who’s 24 now almost 25 I told her asthma growing up as well and they took the same precautions for him as well so hopefully with this medication she will get to feeling better and also wanted to wish Beckham a happy birthday. I had asthma until about 7 years old because I was due 2 months premature. I grew out of it but recently a bad cold activated it again. I'm on albuterol inhalers now as well as allergy medicine nightly. My CAT was just diagnosed with asthma too! How crazy, so we both take out inhalers now 😅 he uses a similar mask to your baby girl to be able to use it. Wishing you all the luck with her asthma!! My mom has drilled it onto me how scary it was as a mother!

She is doing what is called maintance and her inhaler is attached to a “spacer”. What the spacer does is it traps the medicine in the chamber which prevents the medicine from escaping and the child gets more out of it.

Do you guys have a cool air humidifier? That helps me more than anything. I'd just run it at bedtime. I think something my parents did was turn back the bed covers about an hour before bedtime. That gives any dust, etc. to settle before she goes to bed.

My son is 18 and he had asthma and has grown out of it a few years ago. I have 2 daughters. My oldest daughter doesn't have it but my youngest daughter does. She is 10 and she is finally out growing it also. She has the mask for her inhaler too. She does have a nebulizer when she gets sick or when the winter hits. She was getting bronchitis every winter and has 2 meds for her nebulizer. Hope she definitely grows out of it and gets better.

I didnt develope Adthma till i was 51 During a major ill ess including respiratory issues. Have not used rescue inhaler for 2 yrs. I take advair i haler every morn

My youngest had this when he was younger he has asthma hes had it since 3 months old but didn't get diagnosed till he was over a year old he had to use a spacer and put his inhaler in the end just like this. He takes them without a spacer now as he's alot older now but he has to take 2 of his blue one like this in morning and evening/night he also has to have 2 puffs on his other inhaler in morning and evening/night and my 15 year also has to do same as hes got asthma, but alot of kids do grow out of it im happy that you guys now have an inhaler to give her that should help alot ❤❤ im sending all my love to you all ❤ they both have amazing,strong, outstanding, caring parents so both are in good hands ❤❤

My son went through this since he was a infant. He is 11 almost 12 now. He only needs a inhaler about once every two to three months now. It helps he he can't stop coughing from the air quality in N.Y. and seasonal allergies. ❤

Did they suggest allergy tests? A very common allergy nowadays is corn and it comes in all forms. Sorbital, sorbitan, corn syrup, fructose. We have a mini Doodle, we brush him outside and use a wipe to get the grass scent off him, he doesnt shed muh, but grass does get into his curls! Less processed food will help alot. Sounds like s great dr.

I’m not sure with the air o chamber but you should make sure to rinse her mouth or get her to drink something after taking the inhaler. Inhalers can give you thrush so rinsing or drinking something can help prevent it.

Ik I’m under the age of 13 but asthma is still very hard for me. I went to the emergency room more than 7 times for it. It may be hard, but just push through it. If she’s sick or wheezing or just showing symptoms if you have a inhaler let her take it unless she doesn’t and she becomes sick take her to the doctors. Hope this helps! Get better Blakey!❤

I was only able to have poodles growing up with out having bad allergies or reactions. They don’t shed. I think the golden doodle is also good from friends that have issues as well.
My asthma came on & got worse after each pregnancy. I have cats & iK it’s not good but they help my anxiety. So it’s a win win. If poodles weren’t so expensive to get I’d get another.

I have asthma and here's a suggestion for Blakely. Even if she out grows a spacer, keep using it. It helps get the medication to where it needs to be rather than just staying in the mouth.

You should ask your pediatrician about having a nebulizer on hand. Even with my albuterol inhaler I still ended up in ER for breathing treatments. After 6 ER visits my pc finally ordered a nebulizer with ipratropium bromide and albuterol sulfate solution. Its my security blanket and I carry it with me everywhere. Plus it works better than inhaler when I'm sick congested and coughing.
Does Hunter deal with the actual pesticide chemicals? Does he shower and change clothes before he comes home and loves on the kids?
