Oh Rachel you all have certainly been through it! Just an FYI one my nephews had asthma at Blakelys age. Same type of presentation, always running to the ER. They did give some type of preventative drug for him and ultimately he totally outgrew the asthma completely. I’m so excited to see Beckham at home! I’m hoping that you and Hunter get some sleep🙏🏻😜🥰

@@HOUSEOFHUGHES_just so you’re aware it’s rare to grow out of asthma, but it is usually worse in childhood and a little better as an adult. But that doesn’t change anything! Preventative treatments are excellent! Just kinda wanted to make sure you know not expect it to go away or try taking her off medication without consulting a doctor.

Blakely's problems started about the time she started pre-school, didn't they? No telling what is there she could be allergic to, or which is triggering asthma ! I had my 2 yr old go in my purse, get my BIG bottle of pure thyroid extract tablets which looked and tasted like Certs breath mints, and SHARE them with her 1 yr old sister ! That was a day in the E.R., pumping both babies' stomachs, monitoring their hearts and other systems, both in the same bed-with all those monitor leads- until the nurses finally just wrote "BLONDE" and "REDHEAD" on pieces of tape and affixed them to the correct babies' leads ! They pumped most of it out, but a couple of days later, we had two Tasmanian War Devils on our hands, wild and crazy and hyper stimulated from the tiny bit their bodies had absorbed ! While they were eating them, I was trying to jump off my car's battery because it wouldn't start. We had been going to an appointment, so me, babies, and purse were all in place and ready to ride... I thought.

4:43 my kids had better success with Xopenex, which is Levobuteral instead of just albuteral. You may check into it. That’s the only type of breathing treatment meds that worked on them. They also had the same in a rescue inhaler. They make a thing called a spacer that is a mask (like the nebulizer mask), and a tube that you attach the inhaler to and they breathe the inhaler the same as they would nebulizer meds. And the Xopenex didn’t make them as jittery as the albuteral.
Bless y’all’s hearts! Praying for the kiddos and for strength for y’all as well! ❤😊
Sorry. I’m commenting as I watch, so there may be lots of edits. I wanted to say my boys are now 26 and 21, the oldest outgrew him, and the youngest only has an episode maybe once a year if he’s sick, or working out, or playing baseball. So there is hope with asthma. I was allergic to all animals, trees, plants, grass, dust mites, etc. and I took allergy shots twice a week for 9 years. I’ve had cats my entire life thanks to the allergy shots. ❤

I do not think you are stupid parents, but I have to wonder. If your daughter has oxygen saturations 82% you need to call 911!!! You do not go to a pediatrician!! I would fire that pediatrician as her saturations were still low and you took her home. Something is very wrong. She needs to see a pulmonologist asap in the hospital. Please make sure you have albuterol to nebulize at home to start immediately. My fear is if her asthma remains uncontrolled she could end up on a ventilator.

My brother was in and out of the emergency room up to age three when he was diagnosed with allergy induced asthma. When he went for allergy testing, he reacted to EVERYTHING so severely they documented and sprayed him down with Benadryl earlier than the test was supposed to take. Once he started on asthma and allergy meds (including nebulizer medicines when he was little), he didn't need anymore ER visits. He took allergy shots in middle school and is now able to go without any meds except an emergency inhaler and OTC allergy medicine when he's exposed to the very few things he still reacts to. I hope your little girl feels better soon.

My eldest son coughed since he was a baby, he would cough so much he was sick every night. At 2 years old it caused a mallory weis tear in his esophagus. He was hospitalised 3 more times and then They then diagnosed him with asthma. He was on montilucast and then a brown inhaler every night, and a blue inhaler every time he needed. Hes 7 now and has the inhalers but nothing else.
My youngest has had a bad chest since he was born. He has had around 9 chest infections in the last year. He is now on both blue and brown inhalers and theyve said they wont diagnose asthma until 5. Hes only 2. I hope this helps. My young brother developed asthma at age 2. He had constant hospital stays, some of which were extremely scary. Asthma can go in 7 year cycles. David's reached a frightening level of severity when he was just 8. He was in intensive care and we were told he might not make it. Thankfully he did. As he turned 10, his attacks became noticeably milder. His daily meds kept things under more control. It was when he turned 15 that my parents, who had kept notes of every attack, saw that he had not been hospitalised for 11 months. He continued using his inhalers but stopped when he turned 16. He never had an attack again. We then heard that he was yet another 7/14/cured success. I wish you the very best because you are perfect parents who will see easier times ❤❤

Rachel, my lil girl started doing similar right after starting school. What was happening was she was constantly catching “viruses” (colds) which is common once they start school or daycare BUT she was keeping these viruses for like 4-5 weeks (instead of the normal 1-2 weeks) before she’d get another & would require oral steroids sometimes especially spring. Turns out, she’s asthmatic & also has some allergies so it makes the respiratory viruses a lot harder for her to get over. She now sees an asthma & allergy specialist every 3 months. She’s on daily allergy meds, 2 nose sprays, a rescue albuterol inhaler & then a daily inhaler (Symbicort) to help keep her well & it’s been a game changer.

❤🙏🏻for the babies to feel better! That was a good update on asthma, Hunter. I had moderate severe asthma which I was hospitalized for a bunch of times from 4 years old to high school age. I hear Sissy wheezy coughing, but can’t say that I recognize the type of breathing concerns that Blakely has with her neck and stomach, and I know you had a history of lung issues, so I’m so glad you guys are on top of things with the doctors. My asthma had been considered both allergy (smoke, grass, flowers, sprays, perfumes, rabbits, dogs, cats, winter cold air) and exercise induced. Had hives to cat scratches, but didn’t need skin response to have asthma attacks. I coughed and wheezed deep in my chest. Air conditioning helped a lot, Sitting up pretty straight in bed was often necessary (but rough to sleep that way), and dairy products, laughing, and activity too soon worsened the wheeze. I often get an itchy neck when I’m about to have an attack. Allergy shots for many years in my teens seemed to help, and since college I have had many years without many attacks. I’m 57 now, and way better unless I get a cold that goes into my chest or an attack from a cat or dog. My attacks resolve easier today for me with just an inhaler that is way better than the inhalers of the 1970’s. Blakely does so great with the nebulizer. I hated it. The nebulizer treatments and inhalers made me very shaky and weak as a child and I had to sit quiet and still for the coughing to stop. My pediatrician gave me a coke to perk me up with strength after the nebulizer. The more serious preventative regular medications were scarier to deal with as one doctor prescribed too much and I passed out, one pharmacist filled the script wrong but my mom noticed and prevented me from taking something dangerous, and side effects. Health conditions are a lot of ups and downs like a see- saw with 1 thing tipping it the other way and switching it up just when you get used to dealing with it, as I know you and Rachel are well aware. I’m so glad people take asthma more seriously than when I was little. Family friends would smoke right next to me and not understand how sick I would get. My mom would have loved to have been able to measure my oxygen saturation like grandma did for Blakely. You guys are a great mommy, daddy team with awesome grandparents giving the assist. Sending lots of love to Blakely and Beckham, who has really been through it with these surgeries. What a champ! ❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Awww my son had moderate asthma at 2 he was put on preventative medicine and that kept us out of the hospital for the most part lol. Still had some bad attacks with illness. He was a sick toddler as well. He’s 15 now and he barely needs an inhaler he’s pretty much grown out of it. He does have bad allergies though that still gives him hard times. But she will be okay you all are doing the right thing. I hope you guys have smooth sailing ahead. ❤❤
