- Today we are having a huge Bulgarian BBQ Feast! Bulgarian cuisine includes a lot of delicious BBQ'd and slow cooked meats - so today we are eating a mountain of it! This platter includes pork, chicken and veal, a trio of sauces, hand cut chips and salad. And just in case it wasn't enough, we started with a dip plate too!

This is a great adventure. I remember some of this old style when visiting Hamburg a few years ago. And the beer. Great food. Like 311.
At time when elevator was build it was luxury thing , especialy for 4-5 floor buildings i seen the same in Sofia old center buildings but even older ,they look like bird cage and you can see through when you travel between floors.

I dont know what year this lift is but it is before the spelling reform of 1945 as there are words ending with ъ. so it is definitely before or during the war.
I always like a platter of meat like that when traveling in other countries.
We went to this restaurant as recommended by our hotel. Had no idea of the food or what kind of place it was, so was stunned by how huge the dishes were - my 'plate' of salad was large enough for 10. Then we were served with the main of chicken. Had to move tables as our table was now too small. A fantastic evening, wonderful staff, lovely food and great music. Highly recommended.

In Bulgaria we eat pork and chicken in 90 % of the time. And because of the hot weather and the type of meats we can't afford to not cook them well. But steping on the centuries experience, we have learned how to make them soft and delicious, even if they are cooked well done😁

@@rossandbek2407 Nah, it's all good, there haven't been any lift accidents here in Bulgaria in the last 20 years 😎 They check all lifts every few months, it's the law.

@@LeonandTash A platter like that is anywhere between 20 and 40 leva. So 10-20 Euro. Unless you go to a super high-end place. Those don't have limits on their prices...

All those buildings you refer as ''russian-like'' are actually Austrian design from late 19th century, as the one you rented in , the only '' russian -like;; buildings are a few government buildings after WWII built and the endless old socialist era residential buildings which are not in the center of the city.
