Birb, thank you for being a constant homie. Canada beers soon? 🍻
Come to Brazil (and lets grab some beers too!)
Please tell me you’re hinting at the fact that you’re coming up north soon because absolutely you gents!!
@@METALBIRB I wish but nope sadly no one will take us on tour yet and we can't fund one ourselves so it'll be a minute 😥
@@sharchik916it's just a matter of time. You guys are more talented and capable than the vast majority of artist that are out there, popular and fully funded. Keep making art that makes people feel like this. Please.
Thank you for listening my sweet Canadian Prince
Hell yeah with the Reign of Kindo callout!
Man oh man.... @aviationsband musical composition is what sets them apart.
Regardless of being technical with their melodies, patterns, and time-signature switcheroos (which we are always astounded by)… they leverage multiple movements in their composition or what Birb refers to as "transitions/less is more/rising emotions". It's the difference between artists that have an education in music composition/theory and the traditional bands in this genre that don't. The emotional highs and lows/wax and wanes of their musical movements are perfectly stitched together to tell their holistic journey, it's more than a song ya know? It's their "it factor".
Every Aviation's song takes me back to my nerdy music days as a drum major and how I considered a higher education in music... Tbh if you guys were around back when I was working through that decision, my life may have ended up being entirely different. You guys are an inspiration for this genre and the younger community pursuing music.
Thanks Birb for the reaction, much love king.
Vocals alone are chill inducing but when the whole band is jamming, it's ethereal.
This goes so hard. Thank you for being one of the few people who actually promote prog
Loved this final single. It's such a shame it's the last track on the record and it's been revealed, however I'm still so hyped for Luminaria. Less than 2 weeks to go baby!!
This band is unbelievably talented 😮 I’m super impressed
Was this your first exposure to them?
❤❤❤❤❤❤ Been waiting for this day for a min. THANKS EVERYONE FOR LISTENING! I LUV THIS SONG AND BAND AND BIRB AND YOU AND YAY But for real, this is the perfect review. So glad another long ass song stayed emotional 😅
Found one of my new favorite bands. Thanks Birb! I love your videos!
This is, I think, THE quintessential Aviations song. It's got a little bit of everything that I love about them, and it manages to be fun and emotional at the same time. Not the song I'd recommend to newbies, that might still be Safehouse, but for someone who is already versed in prog, this is the song I'd put forward.
Imagine all the work put in all those 7 to 10 minutes long songs. Prog is something else and these guys sure are pros at it!
I'm so glad you made the title of this video what it is, or i probably wouldn't have watched. I love this so much! Definitely checking out more of their music. Thanks Metalbirb!
I loved this song. Probably my favorite from them so far. It just mixes a lot of things I love in music in one song: it’s intricate, thought provoking, beautifully arranged, and technical (without it being overkill). I’m a relatively new fan, but damn! This were ten of the best minutes of music I’ve heard this year.
And speaking of things it reminded me of, I felt like it was if Plini and Caligula’s Horse decided to collaborate together and added a little early Haken here and there, hahaha. Thank you for introducing me to this amazing band.
Dude, Birb, thanks for continuing to show Aviations so much Love! They have legit, if not surpassed Coheed as my favorite band, at least tied it. Sorry Claudio. Lol.
MB!!! I'm a recent sub, I've followed your Sleep Token, TMBTE series and been enjoying and looking forward to every new upload since! More power to you! Cheers from the PH! :D
Thank you so so so much! When i hear this for the first time i was like “man, this intro reminds me of something” but i cant remember what specifically. Yeah, it reminds me the first record of The Reign of Kindo A LOT!
the outro's final chord progression is very similar to outliers too. what a flex by them. "you thought that was good? just wait lol"
Anyone else get like major old polyphia vibes from that insane instrumental section, like transcend off the inspire ep
There are a couple things going on in this song for me. Firstly, there are 3 *huge* vocal motifs that make me wanna just sing at the top of my lungs every time; "SOMETHING STRANGE" "COULD THIS BE THE WAY" and "I'M AT A LOSS". The deliveries on those lines are just killer, and their spacing throughout the song add that extra reward for listening all the way through.
Then there's the intense nostalgia for me in this song. I can't explain it but this song just screams Paper Mario, especially the little wind line at 4:16 high above everything else, man it's just straight up fucking adventuring through sunlit clouds, beautiful stuff.
AND the fact this whole song just seems like it's meshed so well with cozy pop. This is cozy pop metal. This is radio hits type pop if radio music was just a bit more carefully and cleverly written fused with intense technical playing. Dancey and groovy and approachable and singing along loud drinking type music that makes me wanna socialize.
This is a get shit done song
9:09 "Sneaky B*stards" 😆
This is my favorite single so far. But they have all been so good
So hyped for this album, strong AOTY contender for me, this new track really blow me way again and it s so cool to relisten to the track pay attention to different details and kind of rediscover the track a bit, the piano taking the riff again is incredible, the ending part is mesmerizing.
Anyway Aviations is one of my favourite bands at the moment for sure
another absolutely divine track from Aviations
PLEASE GOD LET THEM BLOW UP ON THIS RELEASE THEY DESERVE IT SO MUCH
this was fucking beautiful.
This definitely could be used in an anime soundtrack. No doubt this definitely could
Aviations. This is good solid prog. And is just great music. Period. 💜💜
They are soo good!
A tour that should exist:
Opening Band: Stoneside.
2nd: Aviations
3rd: Imminence
Headliner: Sleep Token
We’re down.
@@aviationsband please do ❤️
Ooooo I love playing this game!
Opener: Aviations
2nd: Haken
Headline: The Contortionist
Has to come to Canada though 😂
Amazing music guys! Love everything you guys put out 👌🏻
Aww man thats damn fun! Thanks birb
Looks like I have a new band to listen to 😄
I remember being on a live stream of yours and you were reacting to one of Aviation's singles. I made a comment about their drums sounding too over produced and as if it was all triggered. I remember the band was on the stream and commented saying all drum sounds were legit recordings and all - mad respect for this drummer killing it with the vibes.
I hate sampled drums - legit Machines with Magnets where we tracked drums - it just sounds like that.
And it’s SICK.
also hit hard and sweat a lot.
Drum production stream should come next 😅 although Bentley really brought it home too
@@JamesKnoerl dope drumming, James. Super complex and intricate fills. I'm a fan.
Boss
This band is amazing!
All you had to say was Sleep Token and I’m on board
Haha doesn't sound like them though although both progressive. Just got the same feelings as Euclid since this is the last song on the album after a long journey with this band
its sooooooo good
I don't disagree, this song is probably the hardest they've come on for the scene this year
I do apologise lord sir Birb the 1st, no song on earth can do to me what Euclid does
Top 5 songs 2023 so far
Karmanjakah - Flying
Violet Cold - Ein Langer Weg Extended version
Humanitys Last Breath - Instill
Vildhjarta - den spanska känslan
Insane Therapy - Vaccum
They kinda remind me of Arch Echo with their prog feel..
I know!
Aviator has always been a hit or miss for me. Songs like Polyphra are spectacular but this one just doesn’t have the same feel. It’s not that it’s a bad song but it just doesn’t feel like what they aimed to convey came out.
is that cdawgva in the thumbnail?
Nice Song. But Euclid is another Level.
Musicaly they are a modern version of dream Theater. But there is no vocalist who sounds like James LaBrie 🤟🏻🤟🏻
It's kinda sad to see the obsession about comparing bands with other bands. I get the love for Aviations even though they don't do a whole lot for me - which is not the point. The point for me is, as much as you love and have promoted the band... we keep seeing comparisons "If you like Sleep Token, listen to this". I don't know about you guys, but always looking for bands that SOUND like Protest The Hero, or Reing of Kindo, or Sleep Token is not really what I look for. As much as I love all of those bands, they're all unique and always putting them in a box of comparisons against other bands is kinda lame. Aviations is doing their own thing... as much as they mix djent, prog etc, I wouldn't PROMOTE them by comparing them to other bands. They deserve their credit but not by being as good as so and so....
Cool instrumental sections on this track for sure!
It does really help bands of our size reach a larger audience as bands like Sleep Token, PTH, and Kindo have larger audiences that also might like our music. I think that's all Birb is trying to do, essentially Hey if you like this, you might also like this! :D
I understand but trust me as someone who’s been promoting bands for 5 years, I understand what works and what doesn’t. This is simple marketing and so far it’s getting peoples attention, it’s also not putting them in a box as I never mentioned it SOUNDS like Sleep Token. The title of the video is @ 13:45 so it’s not like I drew the comparison out of thin air. I think you need to look at the bigger picture which is getting Aviations in front of more eyes, and so far this video is doing well in that regard.
I hear it, but Im not the biggest fan of the approach. Bands should taken by what they create and produce and not by "what they sound like". @@JamesKnoerl
I do understand the importance of what Birb is doing, especially for local smaller bands. Don't get me wrong, I just think comparison is not always the best approach. Even though I like Sleep Token, for example, I was disappointed by their last album... so definitely not a good reference for me lol.
Aviation is doing their own thing, and deserves their merit, they don't need to be overshadowed by other artists. Anywho, I get your point and appreciate the response.
