Only few people know about it and they don't make videos on it. Staying alive for more than 10 years on UA-cam is challenging as hell. Your career in UA-cam will be like a bell shaped curve. You will make maximum amt in the middle years. One more tip to new gen youtubers. Keep UA-cam secondary. First get skills. Get educated then come to this field otherwise you will find difficulty handling your fame, money and will loose everything in the end. thought i like varuns content a lot but this video is just too naive , it doesn't depends on the no. of followers that much its way more dependent several other factors , like the quality of audience, no. of videos, you r putting out, and watchtime ,views, and it can vary wildly, you can have a channel with just 10k subs earning more than 1million subs channel. dividing the income a channel generates based on followers is just stupid.
I don't think he's making money from his channel. It's not monetized, he doesn't do promoted deals, affiliate marketing, or paid courses. His aim is to build distribution from UA-cam. He has got more than enough money from his businesses.

The Indian consumer is spoiled, they can pay 700 for pizza but not for ANY digital product, except some like education content. While buying digital products, people have options, they spend less and go for the best in the market, think the subscriptions you've, I've not more than 3, rest physical products I buy from Amazon.
