I'm in my 50s, grew up listening to all different kinds of music through my parents and extended relatives, then later gathered friends who I swapped music with. And I have always loved music more than just about anything in the world. But I swear, when I hear songs that I've heard a hundred times on your channel, as the kids say "it hits different." There are so many songs that I have enjoyed throughout my life, but I think hearing them through your fresh ears, and seeing the joy you two feel just makes them even better. I seriously cannot tell you how much enjoyment I get from this channel. I've watched a number of UA-cam reactors over the years, but you are just special and I appreciate you so much.

You just summed up all the feelings and words that I've been searching to say to and about this channel, I feel the same about Amber & Jay's reactions to the music of all genres that I love so much, a lot of i have sentimental & emotional ties to in some way, & its almost like hearing it all over again, i ove the way they understand music itself, especially Amber, they've grown & learned so much, & it's a joy to see how much knowledge they've gained and grown from the music & thru the channel. Thank You for the original comment & Thanks to The Rob Squad! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como and Andy Williams made it look so effortless when they sang a song. It was like they just opened their mouths and they hit every note perfectly. They also had great music arrangers and the record studios provided the best musicians and orchestras for their recordings. I should add Bing Crosby to that group though he was really from the previous generation to them.

I'm not sure what Frank songs you've already listened to but his album "Sinatra at the Sands" is where the real Frank shines, especially with the Count Basie Big Band. Every song on that double album is incredible. You feel the electricity of the classic Vegas, it was recorded in 1966 when Frank turned 50. (It's his birthday today) is that why you featured him? More crooners please, you guys are great!

You two really need to react to Frank Sinatra and his daughter Nancy as they duet their way through the song SOMETHING STUPID. It is a beautiful song and the two of them really knock it out of the park.
Speaking of Nancy, a reaction to her hit songs BANG BANG and SUGAR TOWN would be much appreciated.
As for Frank, the best song of celebration in his catalog, in my opinion, of a love most thrilling has yet to make its way to your ears. The song is (I'VE GOT YOU) UNDER MY SKIN. The song carries all of the signature Frank Sinatra moments as it celebrates the realization of a most exuberant and thrilling love. The orchestra adds the necessary energetic swing thanks to conductor Nelson Riddle, who knows exactly how to support the feeling of a love supreme.
Finally, there is a 1965 black and white live recording session of Frank with a small audience of friends and others as he sings,
IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR. Again, with Nelson Riddle scoring the musical journey. Love you guys. The best reaction channel. You deserve 5ook subscribers and support that goal. And to enjoy

    2. My Kind of Town ( Chicago is)
    3. I've Got You Under My Skin

    1. Everybody Love Somebody
    (London 1965) His signature song
    2. For the Good Times

    4. My Rifle, My Pony and Me
( from the movie Rio Bravo. There's a second song with Ricky Nelson ...watch both)
*Duet of Dean Martin with The Mills Brothers....Paper Doll & Up a lazy River ( really good and fun)
*Mills Brothers....Basin Street Blues.( Video with the Boston Pops Orchestra...some special effects that you will love)

As stated, the singer they were trying to get booked into the Vegas club in The Godfather is based on how Sinatra is rumored to have gotten his start.
This was was actually a #1 hit on the Billboard charts when it came out in 1966. And BTW, New York isn't the only city Frank is associated with. "My Kind of Town" Chicago was a Sinatra staple at his concerts. From his movie "Robin and the Seven Hoods". Might want to visit that one at some point.

Not only did he hang out with the mob, he partied with the Kennedys, and sang the jingle for JFK's winning presidential campaign. He plays a mob boss in the less serious musical "Robin and the 7 Hoods", with co-stars Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Jr. and Barbara Rush (among others). Dean used to kid him on TV about singing "doobie doobie do" in Strangers in the Night.

Frank had so many great songs going back to the thirties, forties, fifties that you really need to react to. A few of my personal favourites that I'm sure you will love are Don't Worry 'Bout Me, In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning, How Little We Know all superb ballads that can't be bettered. A lot of his sixties output is terrific too. Love's Been Good To Me, It Was A Very Good year, The Summer Wind and of course Somethin' Stupid with his daughter Nancy.

Supposedly the Johnny Fontane character in The Godfather is based on Sinatra. Just as in the movie where Fontane is trying to get cast in a movie, Sinatra was also trying to get in a movie to jump start his career. He ends up getting a supporting role in the movie "From Here to Eternity". You should check out the movie and Sinatra's acting chops at your movie reaction channel.

Yes, they reacted to the Godfather just last week and I don't think they realized that Fontane was modeled on Sinatra and his rumored " assistance " from the Mob in furthering his career.

Tommy Dorsey was holding Sinatra back, having Frank under contract with his band. But, it got "resolved" and Dorsey released Frank.

He would have been a great choice to sing a James Bond movie song. He just has a voice that sounds like it would have worked perfectly for it.

    • @Pravda3
      @Pravda3 8 місяців тому +3

Not sure if anybody mentioned in the comments yet, but daughter Nancy sang "You Only Live Twice" for the Bond film, one of the greatest Bond themes, IMHO. I see lots of mentions in the comments of Frank and Nancy doing the duet on "Somethin' Stupid," but "You Only Live Twice" is an incredible song on its own merit.

Frank owned the CalNeva casino hotel, in South Lake Tahoe. The whole West Coast syndicate used to have meetings in the basement of the hotel. Frank was very much a part of the syndicate. But, he was able to keep it under wraps just enough that it just wasn't talked about. He was one of the most loved entertainers in our history. With his looks and voice, he was mesmerizing. On your free time, check out an episode of Johnny Carson's Tonight Show when Frank was a guest and Don Rickles walked onto the set, unannounced, and played on Sinatra's mob ties. So funny.

Frank Sinatra had many hits some for the holidays, for this time of year I'd recommend, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" or a duet he did with his daughter Nancy, "Something Stupid", other ones for different times of the year, "Summer Wind", "My Funny Valentine", "Witchcraft".

Sinatra's voice is superb , but what makes his voice standout even more is the the way the music Is being matched to his crooner voice ,there's so much Romance in the 1950s and 1960s Romantic classical masterpieces. I would like to introduce you guys to another Marvelous 1961 song called ⏩ " The Girl From Ipanema" by Dan Fontaine . It's one of the most romantic songs ever made check this beautiful song and title it's pure Romantic just like Frank Sinatra's songs and music.
