Good check on that battery! I have a 2015 Subaru Legacy, about 90K miles a few months ago that everything electrical started acting "weird". One window wouldn't work. Then the radio would "lock up" and not be able to turn on or off - the buttons would become unresponsive. This went on for a few weeks. I took it to a local shop and they "checked" and "determined" a whole bunch of stuff needed to be replaced. Well over $2K of work. I declined and said I would go to the dealership for genuine Subaru parts. I got the usual "it's not safe...we don't recommend it..." speech. I figured I'd get a 2nd opinion. The biggest problem was the radio acting weird daily. If I turned the car off and restarted, the radio would work - for a while. Then the windows started acting up. Planned on visiting Subaru in a few days - and went to work and came out to find...dead battery. Nothing left on. Got jump started and home to find...dead battery after 20 mins. Checked connections and used a jump starter next day and went to Pep Boys locally. Told them what was going on - they checked and sure enough...bad battery. It was 6 yrs old, so not unexpected. They checked everything else and found radio and windows were fine. They determined the dying battery over about 2 months was the culprit. I could still start, but it was getting weaker and weaker, until it just died. Zero electrical issues since getting the battery changed. This battery got me moved from NJ to TN and through the extreme heat and cold the past year. Technician said both extremes are hard on batteries and it died during the heat wave a few weeks ago here in TN.
Those Subies have undersized batteries. Glad you found it was only a weak battery! I found a much higher CCA rated one at Costco as the OEM one in my `15 Outback would die quickly if I left a dome light on. There was a ton of info on Subie forums about the undersized batteries.

I needed a new battery for my `09 Toyota Auris, my independent workshop said it would cost 240 euros because of the start/stop system, which I never use. Simply bought a battery from another workshop for 80 euros and installed it myself, no problems for 3 years.
As someone who used to work at Rural King I can tell you that their batteries were not good. People were constantly bringing them back because they quit working. I got to the point where I was telling people not to buy them.
Why limit it to 250k miles ? I made a Dodge Neon last 207k miles... if a Chrysler product can last that long a Honda or Toyota can easily double that with proper maintenance!!!! 👍🏼

The push towards self-driving trucks isn't only about paying drivers. The bigger part is about using the trucks 24 hours per day. In Australia, human drivers must use a log book and drive for no more than 12 hours in 24, 72 hours in 7 days.
A friend has a 3 year old Buick that had some weird behaviour due to a bad battery. I thought once the vehicle was started, the system was 100$ dependent on the battery.
If you buy a week old battery, drive for 3 or 4 months then park it for 2 months to go on vacation...isn't that the same as buying a month old battery??

Love the CR-V ❤ Thanks Scotty.
I got one dead from the store I was pissed they are heavy and expensive
Do you guys like Genesis cars? Are they reliable? Do you consider them luxurious? How do you feel about used Audis?
They're luxurious sure, but expensive. If you like spending money or have money to burn sure. But really it's like flushing it down the toilet.
Give the new ones 6-7 years,,,,,we'll find out soon enough.
Purely based upon extended reliability and purchase/repair costs: No and No.
Unless you enjoy wasting your money.
They look awesome! My brother bought one about a year ago and loves it. Yes, it is luxury. It is just a flagship Hyundai so I'm not confident in the reliability when it gets over 100k miles on it.
They look amazing but personally I feel their trash I work for enterprise and I have seen my share of lemons even brand new and low mileage they just aren’t building cars like they used to.
The push towards self-driving trucks isn't only about paying drivers. The bigger part is about using the trucks 24 hours per day. In Australia, human drivers must use a log book and drive for no more than 12 hours in 24, 72 hours in 7 days.
The whine alone while driving 50 mph would force me to sell the car.
Scotty keeps us safe.
I still prefer Honda's old SOHC engines.
The only DTC I had was a squib code, because I removed the passenger seat to carry plywood in my van.
I find "Die-Hard" red and silver batteries are the best lead acid batteries I have bought.
8:28 ❤ same thing in Indiana Rural King is the king of cheap batteries and they last forever ask me how I know
One day he'll test ride a supercar and bring it over to his drag strip. "Now this is a fuc*ing Race Car!!" He'll say 😂
Honda and Toyota with their old buring, good grief.
I want car insurance in Tennessee
You're the only person I've ever heard of that WANTED car Insurance.
HONDA's sound like a Pea Thrasher, and guess what, Scotty doesn't own one.
Sir, what is a pea thrasher ?
I would totally buy that crv
Is it bad for honda oil life to drop to 5% after only 3000 miles

California…the land of fruits and nuts!
A friend has a 3 year old Buick that had some weird behaviour due to a bad battery. I thought once the vehicle was started, the system was 100$ dependent on the battery.
I gave Scotty his 40th like for this video
Driverless fire hazards on the road in California? Hope not.
If you buy a week old battery, drive for 3 or 4 months then park it for 2 months to go on vacation...isn't that the same as buying a month old battery??
