- This is my Mix of the soundtrack nightsong which you is used in the "Val'Sharah - Death of Ysera" Cinematic, "in "Ashenvale" and in many things. It took twelve years for this game to get feels out of me. I almost cried during the Ysera cinematic, and probably would have if I wasn't too busy cursing Xavius's name for his bullshit.
Ysera's last sight was of Elune lovingly bringing her forth to her final dream: Peace. Peace at last for my favorite of The Dragonflight, I hope her mate and all of her children are there to greet her.

There was a cave in Loch Modan, SE of Thelsamar, i remember quest got me there.The moment i entered cave, standard Loch music stoped and that "sad" part of this theme start playing. I was in trance...so beautiful...

Yam Jam it wasn’t about killing hope, it’s was about showing the Night Elves that as much as they adore Elune, Elune does not care for them all that much...

I feel bad for her so many players ignored her beauty and grace for a drake that shares sylvanases model now we see it at the last moment right when she dies...
I like the transition of this soundtrack. Think about it.You're forced to kill Ysera and forced to watch her pass, the emotions and music surrounding your ears. When the Tear of Elune appears, there's a moment of silence for Yesera. Then you feel a pent up emotion of rage, vengeance, and where do you go with the increasing adrenaline? To kill Xavius' echo and send a message. You kill it, a sense of momentary peace... but you're reminded of the pain Ysera felt and reminded this is just a false copy of Xavius. It's not enough. You journey into the dangerous plains of the Emerald Nightmare, killing one foe after another, knocking Cenarius unconscious. As you stare into the abyss, adrenaline kicks in once again. You jump down; immediately swarmed by nightmare creatures... but then you see Xavius laughing at you in the background. Adrenaline kicks in even moreso now. You hear Ysera's voice in an echo. Justice, vengeance, and rage pents up again, and you charge face to face with Xavius himself. At the end of the soundtrack and sudden drop of music, you deal the final blow, and end Xavius' life once and for all.
Jesus Christ...that is an amazing re-writing of the story..shivers are real right now and i want to fight the shit out of Xavius..

What gets me each and every time I listen to this.. I can see it all as I close my eyes.. Ysera's last mortal breath.. Elune reclaiming her child.. And the pain in Tyrandes face.. It seriously is one of the very few moments I've cried playing WoW. The other was the death of Vindicator Maraad in Talador. Another sad loss

This more than Ysera reminds me the whole night elf race and all the obstacles they had to go through, since The War Of Acients to Ashes Of Teldrassil. While listening to this music you hear all the struggle and it force you to fell in love with their race. While playing the game im not even thinking about this, but when i get to hear this, i always love to think about all the night elf race had to go through and how much time i had spent in WoW universe while reading books or playing games. And altough a lot of people might say, it was a waste of time, it was worth it, no doubts.
This is no longer "Nightsong," now and forever, this will be known to me as "Ysera's Lament."

Sitting here listening to this all these years later, reading the comments, and damn if the tears aren't coming as if I'm there watching that cinematic again. I'll never hear Nightsong the same again, and it's been one of my favorite songs for years.

mind you, the aspects were heavily weakened after Cata. Stellagosa even mentions it while questing in (i think) Azuna :)
Yea, aspects are weakend plus Ysera still exists within the Dream after Xavius.
what piss me off so much is that Cenarius went into the nightmare and then Malfunction stick up his anger problems all of a sudden goes to face Xavius and you and Yesera go to save his ass and he gets Ysera killed do to his blind actions and it pissed me and made me cry a bit because even though i never really knew Ysera's lore they made her so moving and inspirational.

This is one of the reasons wow made it big...the time and money they invest in music and other arts departments....kids now a days don't appreciate these things but once they listen to Warcraft music they recognise it's greatness.
I'm very new to the game. Having to kill Ysera absolutely broke my heart. Coming in during BfA and just as SL was launching I'm doing a lot of the older campaigns now that I've done the others, but even as I watched her being reborn in Ardenweald, not knowing much about her, the song made me cry. It's such a beautiful compostition.

Listening to this after hearing that my great uncle passed away at age 90. My mother helped removed the cords from various parts of his body that were hurting him as well as gave him medicine to remove the pain and he finally rest in peace.

Anyone else holding out hope that, somehow, she will be resurrected similarly to Cenarius? Or similar to how Xavius was? I mean, Malfurion killed Xavius TWICE! And he still came back. Hell, while they're at it, give us some way for the dragons to become able to reproduce again. Deathwing's death making them infertile/sterile is fucking stupid after all the hell and losses they've suffered. The blue dragonflight suffered greatly, Wrathion can never rebuild the Black dragonflight free of the Old Gods' corruption, the green dragonflight suffered immense losses, the red dragonflight suffered immense losses (especially Alexstrasza who lost most of her children, all of her consorts, and must now, as one who watched over all life, watch as her ENTIRE KIND has NO FUTURE).
No because dragging out of the place where she is at peace would be an all out affront to Elune. You do not force any being like that to come back to a plane of existence where pain and misery can be felt.

Welcome back Ysera! This soundtrack has been used as well during the quest if I am not mistaken.
You know, Ysera's death was made 100x sadder by the fact of this song playing as the moon showed from the clouds and Elune took her to redeem her after the corruption had passed. The second time I've ever actually teared up during the game (the first was Varian's death/funeral)

Didn't cry for Varian, didn't cry for Vol'Jin, didn't cry for Maraad, didn't cry when Anduin visited where Varian died...shed multiple tears of Elune when Ysera died....

On a serious note: That's the COMPLETE corruption of three Dragon Aspects, first Nefarian of the Earth, then Malygos of Magic and now Ysera of Nature. While Kalecgos assumed the role for magic, it's assumed Thrall assumed Earth, who can watch over nature? And how will the Titans react now that three of their Aspects are dead?
