If the project tiger moth team green lit 2 whole seasons of Gauge 1 Thomas episodes, we would’ve finally got a vision of what Mountain Engines stories would’ve looked like in the style of season five.
After watching this video, I don’t think ALL the stories should be adapted as it would make the Railway series go into obscurity, besides, not having all the Railway Series stories adapted, gives fans the opertunity too create their own take on how they think the exclusive stories would have been adapted. However some stories I think they SHOULD have adapted are: Super Rescue, Mountain Engines, Very Old Engines (first three), Gordon Goes Foreign, Triple Header, Stop Thief, Thomas and the Twins and Jock the New Engine.
Stories like all the Culdee Fell Railway or Super Rescue should be adapted or at the very least expanded upon but there are some that I don’t think deserve to be adapted. So I guess to me it’s 50\50
I really like the points you make in this. I agree with you that my love for characters like Wilbert are a cause of how niche they are. While I love his stories they definitely benefit from being locked away in a book. Maybe I would love him even more if I saw him on the big screen but there’s no way to truly know. I think the closest we will ever get to that is season 20 introducing the alresdale engines. Personally them getting introduced made me like them even more but that’s just one case and they did more with them outside the og stories. The Christopher books in away almost feel forbidden and that makes them cool Thanks for the shout out btw I appreciate it 😁
It feels like if it was adapted by the modern producers, it would really have to stand out as to not tarnish any more of the Rev. Wilbert Awdry's reputation by more casual viewers. It should be done by the dedicated fans that know what is special and let it show through the work and their love of the series and what makes it great.
Yes it deserves to be all Adapted if Andrew Brenner did adapted more RWS Stories then he adapted the Arlesdale stories, but if did Adapted Gordon goes Foreign in mostly like Season 20
Great video! You know I've been thinking about this for a while. Now it's unknown if the Marc Forster movie is gonna happen or not, but here's what I think they can do. They should make a RWS toned movie. Maybe adapt stories from the Eight Famous Engine stories, but in movie style. Something like that.
I really wish that the original Thomas and Friends show is still going on. And I think every story from all 42 Railway Series books should be adapted. If the original Thomas and Friends show ended up having more seasons after season 24, maybe the rest of the Railway Series stories that hadn't been adapted could make it into the TV series version.
Personally I agree not every story should be adapted, but some definitely got robbed, regardless I’m just glad both universes have their cool exclusive content for better or worse
Great video my friend. While I agree in principle that they should be adapted, the question I have is, given today's programming, could they be adapted successfully by Mattel? Fan channels would do them justice but I'm not sure about the people who actually own Thomas and Friends. Interesting video that's certainly got me thinking ☺️🚂🚃
I feel that boat sailed twenty five years when they started making unique stories and when more unique over RWS episodes happened per season By that time I would have been too late.
Here’s something I really want to share with you that no one talks about. So as Lego guy here I really want them to make Lego Thomas sets and it’s on my top 3 most wanted Lego themes and I did see someone make a Lego Thomas model on Lego ideas but sadly it was rejected thanks to you guessed it Mattel but I hope one day we do get them and I will share it with other fans to because I’m likely gonna be attending the Awdry extravaganza 5 for the 80th anniversary. And it’s a perfect topic for this video cause I want the sets to have every character from both the show and the books but I know some people would doubt that they’d include RWS characters but I think Lego should include them not just cause I want to see them in Lego form but I think they would also make the sets sell better. Seeing fan model videos really inspired me to make ones like them but with legos and I think lots of fans would want that too so lemme know if you also want Lego to make Thomas sets
I do think most railway series stories should have been adapted like Stop Thief, Triple Header, and Super Rescue. But are those that don't need an adaption. I don't think Drip Tank would be suitable for an adaption. Heck, I didn't care for the stories from More About Thomas the Tank Engine because I thought Thomas and Percys quarrel was pathetic, and the Better Late Than Never story didn't make much sense.
I believe it would be great if all of the RWS stories were adapted. It would also be cool if they made episodes about Barry the Rescue Engine, a character created by Christopher Awdry who he was planning to write a book about, but the stupid publishers want Thomas stories only. I hate how they stopped adapting the stories when Wilbert Awdry died in 1997, it felt wrong. That's why I think Season 5 is overrated
Great video! I think while it be cool if they were adapted i should say no! because its fun to go out of your way and more story's to find and i think it give the railway series the need to still be around the show is cool and all but its not a special then finding the books were they actually come from!
I've actually been thinking about writing an aeg version of bad look out where Thomas Percy Diesel Nia Kana Carly Sandy and Bruno take the place of Skarloey Rheneas Sir Handel and Duncan
Even if by some once in a lifetime miracle the series was revived back to a state in which adapting more rws stories was an actual possibility. In addition to your reasoning, i have a few beliefs as to why it shouldnt/couldnt. Pretty much all of wilberts stories that werent adapted were too grandiose and would require a lot of effort for just one or a few episodes (see gordon goes foreign, super rescue, the culdee fell railway, little old engines). That OR they just arent necessary because many of the first stories of books are just introductions where nothing important happens and it can easily be squished into the next episode without losing any integral content. Speaking of nothing important happening, i dont think many of christophers books would work either because 90% of his stories are boring af. i know its not his fault because pretty much every character is fully developed by the time he took over. But this results in the vast majority of his books containing all "slice of life" stories, which dont get me wrong are nice and every once and a while, but when you have like 7 straight books of them it gets tiring. In addition to this, i cant put my finger on why this is but chris's stories dont have the same charm as wilberts do
@@christianpark5155 I do agree it'd be a big task to do Wilbert remaining stories, though I do think there are some good Christopher stories that can work.
@@spiderfan2003 james and the diesel engine, thomas and the twins, and some of the ffarquahar branch ones go hard. Other than that i don't get much enjoyment out of them
Simple answer: most of them SHOULD be adapted to television because they deserve more publicity. 📺
@TrevortheTrainFan that's a completely fair point, and it would be awesome to see how it'd be done.

I’m surprised that Stop Thief wasn’t adapted. Considering how it’s a Thomas focused story written not long before the TV series started.
@IsleofPigsStudios honestly it'd be an easy story to do as well. Wonder what it would be like in the TVS.
I could see it being adapted in s4
@@IsleofPigsStudios not to mention, in terms of stand-alone stories, it's probably the best one written by chris
