My favorite primers are the Covergirl, the Milani, and the Urban Decay primer potion. I haven't had much luck using cream Shadows, they always seem to run on me. Right now I'm using my tarte shape tape concealer as a primer. It's not the best but typically my days aren't very long because I'm a stay at home mom. And because I don't like the concealer under my eyes, I'm trying to use it up as a primer so I don't feel like I've wasted my money.
I am using wet n wild photo focus and my daughter just gave me the black radiance which is harder to find and made by same company. She says it is better. Thank you Bailey.
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow in the color Shore. Matches my skin-tone and cancels out any capillaries or discoloration on my lids. Then, shadows lay down perfectly over top. No creasing. No budging. Lasts all day (and evening).
I’ve loved Nars ProPrime for years as it’s always performed to perfection for any eyeshadow I’ve used. I’ve not yet tried the tinted smudge proof base yet tho I’ve been tempted. Yes the Mac paint pots were my fav for years tho I have never tried other colors than the Ocre. I did try the Bad to the Bronze when the L’Oréal was all the rage tho I didn’t wear much drugstore. And I wasn’t impressed at all tho I came to hear that it was likely my older Lids Still enjoying the daily uploads as I remain impressed at the continued great quality and dedication thanks!
I FINALLY tried the Mac paint pot in soft ochre and it creased on me terrible.... I was so sad. Can’t even layer it over the cover girl lid lock up to help conceal. 😩
Speaking of early days, I remember when I bought a NYX eyeshadow palette online, because they weren't available in stores. It was one of my favorites ever. And back then I barely ordered things online so I was so scared about it. This was maybe 2008 or 2009.
I've heard really good things about Milani eyeshadow primer ! I have the Urban Decay primer posion, wet and wild primer and I just picked up Elfs primer today !
I will use an eyeshadow primer like Milani once it sets, and then I apply a light layer of a MAC paint pot on top, like Painterly, Soft Ochre or Groundwork depending on my eye look. The Maybelline Tattoos were some of my favorite bases at a better price point; I’m sad that they done make all the shades any more. I have very oily eyelids. I like the Revlon ones too.
To cover eyelid discoloration--which most of us have as we get older--I don't think Urban Decay primer potion can be beat. And it comes in both light ("Eden") and dark (Caffeine") shades.
I've used the CoverGirl and Milani. CoverGirl almost holds the shadow too much!! Lol My problem is with cream shadows. They are all too sheer. Any suggestions I would really appreciate. Thanks.
off topic I want to tell you that, I love your videos but I was wondering something. I have seen these makeup looks that have very vibrant colors that really stand out and besides my lips I have never been able to get my colors to really stand out in general. I was wondering if you had any tips or tricks to make the color stand out more without using glitter? (im allergic to glitter)...
This may be late and useless but having white under any color makes it automatically pop. i got an airbrush tattoo and to make the yellow pop on my skin more, the nice lady who was doing the tattoo put white first and then yellow and it made a huge difference! so maybe a white concealer/base would help ? 🤷🏽♀️
I have oily eyelids too!! And I found that the Milani works really well and then I use a dab of Becca ever matte poreless priming perfector on my crease so that when I wear shadow it doesn’t crease. It’s a combination that actually works for me!! I have tried soo many eye primers and my lids crease or the shadow doesn’t last, but give this a try!!
As we are approaching slowly, but soon, 100° weather here in Lake Havasu City AZ I do sweat (glow)! What do you recommend for (drugstore $) face & eye primers? Thank you 🌞😎
Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer! Yes I realize it says Moisturizer but I use my Loreal Hydra Genius and put the 10.0.6 on top. Works great for hot, humid OK!
Thanks for the video! Recommendations on an eye shadow primer that is smooth on the eyelids? I got the Covergirl one and it stays so tacky. The Pur one is the same. I just don't like it to be so tacky but I do want something to help keep the shadow in. I did try a sample of the Nars one and it was great. I would like to find a more affordable option. Thanks again!
Thankyou so much!! I have totally been needing this!! I have wasted so much money on primers that seem to make my eyelids and shadow really wrinkly looking. Would the cream base or the milani work better for this? Rimmel and Physicians formula did not work well at all for me, with this problem. I liked Elf, but it either came to me dry or dried up quickly. I loved samples that came to me of the milani and Makeup Revolution, but that is all I have really tried. I have considered just trying to find some kind of concealer that smooths or something. Never tried one of those cream products. if you have any advice for my particular problem, please let me know. I wish i knew how to describe it better. Many blessings!!
I am 51 and would love a base that did not make my eyelids look more dry and crepey. Any suggestions? The Mac paint pot burns my eyelids, they’re super sensitive. The most recent tries are the cover girl, Clinique, and Smashbox. They’re all horrible on me 😞
My eyes are deep set. Idk if that's a proper term but my eyelid crease is deep and my shadow would always crease there or disappear in a few hrs. So far I have tried the UD primer and the Mac paint pot and they don't help with this issue. Do you have a recommendation for me?
Are your lids oily? I use Milani primer as a base and then I use a tiny dab of the Becca matte primer in my crease to prevent creasing. It works well and it makes my shadow last longer.
Mish mash I find the paint pots to have a slightly thicker consistency, and have less “slip” than those other products. I’ve found that because of the consistency it helps with longevity!
Wet and wild eyeshadow primer has never let me down. I’ve been wearing this for like three years and I keep going back to it
Ri Hinlo only one so far that doesn't crease my shadow!
RykaStar i know, right? It’s the best!! Simply the best.

I have actually bought those exact 3 MAC paint pots you swatched for myself and my sisters for the past few years. The Milani primer is also bomb!

The wet n wild one is the best, keeps my shadow in place better then anything I've found

Hi Bailey!!!! I’ve had the biggest problem with the base for my shadows!
I hope these could help! :)
I FINALLY tried the Mac paint pot in soft ochre and it creased on me terrible.... I was so sad. Can’t even layer it over the cover girl lid lock up to help conceal. 😩
I use the milani one EVERY day. When I want to rev it up a bit, I'll use the MAC paint pot over that! ;)
The wet and wild catsuit liquid shadow in camelback is a good one too.

I really like Wet and Wilds though !
the Avon primer in the pot is super amazing!
ahh the color tattoos! the leather collection was my fav because it had a few good neutral matte shades
I wish they would make more colors!!
My current favourite is the Marc Jacobs one followed by Nars and Urban Decay.

What would you recommend for dryer eyelids?
I am wondering the same to.
My holy grail is the smashbox 24 hr primer🙌🏼

Pretty nails as always!
Thank you!! They're imPress So So Stellar :)

love the milani
the mac paint pot does NOT work for my oily lids 😩 i tried a light layer, thicker layer....and my eyeshadow is crease central
Great recommendations. Love your nails.
Thank you! They're the imPress style So, So Stellar!
Oh I needed this video.
Nyx proof it, shadow primer Maybellines eye primer, and Elf’s are also good ones. Not a fan of the new Rimmel. That one is terrible.
I have tried so many for my oily lids and nothing works!!! HELP

Oh, and I love the Milani eye primer!
my favorite eyeshadow primer has always been the "original" urban decay potion, which by the way have you tried it or why didn't you mention it?

I think the Milani would be a great pick for smoothness!
Nyx HD and catrice waterproof for oily lids
The Milani just didn’t work for me, I want to try the cover girl. I miss the Mac shade stick in beigeing.

Have you tried the Milani one yet? Try moisturizing your eyelids first and then putting the primer on.
Any suggestions for a white eyeshadow base?
jewelsandcrystal NYX Eye Shadow Base in White is fantastic.

Have you tried p.louise base? Maybe that would work for you.
@@katier4288 I’ll check it out, thank you so much!!!!
@@sharauncovell6105 your welcome. :)

How is the mac paint pots different than the Nyx pot concealers or the Maybelline and Revlon shadow pots in a nude?
Mish mash I find the paint pots to have a slightly thicker consistency, and have less “slip” than those other products. I’ve found that because of the consistency it helps with longevity!
i find the MAC lasts longer on me (the NYX creased like crazy). And Maybelline and Revlon don't have many matte nude shades in their collections.
Thank you, ladies! Very helpful.🙏🏽 Hope you have a wonderful weekend/Easter.
Woah, u look so much like Sofia Bush.
