Chris's joke "I can't believe it's not murder" went over everyone's head. Brilliant though.
The difference between Jimmy and other comedians is that Jack Whitehall and James Corden only ordered pizza for themselves during big fat quiz 2012, but when Jimmy orders food he make sure he orders food for everyone that's interested in getting something to eat.

I lived in China for three years. You learn mime. Two things I struggled with were buying paper clips and hemorrhoid cream. Two things that are uncomfortable to mime to a young girl in a store.

Hahaha! I've lived in China for over eight years now. Thankfully, I'm past the need to mime (I just use a dictionary app on my phone to say the word or at least show the word)
Asking for feminine products, and finding 12 little plastic finger gloves to go along inside the box of products, and no titanium dioxide, an oil by product used for whitening?! like in American of the same brands... And no little gloves in America either.

Years and years ago I heard a series of commercials for "Learn foreign language" lessons which used SOCKS as a mnemonic. That and "I feel so low, I see unto your toe" as a mnemonic for "lo siento" "I'm sorry."
There was an ad for one of those services on youtube. It was some guy with the same spanish skills as my dad... He added an "o" onto the end of everything or found similar english words.

Well actually the Nikka whiskey founder lived in Scotland in the 60's to learn how to make proper Scotch and married a Scottish woman before moving back here to found Nikka distillery. It's all in the museum at the distillery in Miyagi. Nikka makes proper scotch but they technically can't call it such. But yeah, Jimmy's right, highball is probably one of the most popular drinks here.

The story about "esoup" is not true. Nobody does that. Spanish speakers add the e at the beginning only in words that start with an s followed by a consonant, but not with words that start with an s followed by a vowel.
I was coming to see if anyone else caught that. Maybe her mother just has a speech impediment. 😂
There is a perfectly good linguistic reason for adding the 'e' in front of a consonant cluster, but it absolutely does happen when a vowel follows the 's'. Perhaps it's done in casual conversation or slang. But it does happen.

haven't seen QI for a few years (I live in Asia) and this was a very disappointing episode: were the audience dead? The studio seemed silent. The glory days are long gone I think. When one remembers the noise and fun in the days of Fry, this seems very weak indeed. Maybe its been on air too long.
Obviously there is no studio audience due to Covid. The little audience that is there are mostly show crew. Nothing to do with the quality of humour. Episodes like this actually demonstrate how strong their quality is as they still manage to have a good time in a large empty awkward studio. As good as ever
