it was so odd at the time, but looking back, it's much like a podcast with comedians just playing off each other and being amusing on their own FOR an audience, but without one present. They did a great job.
From March of 2020 without an audience and they addressed the topic of no laughter.
That "go away and come back three days later" joke was one of the funniest things I've ever heard on QI ...
This is the most surreal episode ever. I remember when it aired and it gets better each viewing.
What a remarkable show to have put together in that moment!
It’s misleading to say speed readers can read “1200 (or any large number) words per minute,” because the main strategy of “speed reading” is to read only a few words on each page. The Evelyn Wood method, if I recall correctly, is to move your finger down the middle of each page (neglecting the words near the margins), and to look only at the first and last sentence of each paragraph, only paying attention to key words. It’s a fast way to get a general idea of what’s being discussed in a chapter, but you won’t get many details.
One time I performed in a play with zero audience. We had opened on Friday and on Sunday nobody turned up. The director decided that we needed the extra practice and since were there already, might as well. Only did the first act though. Another time I showed up to see a play and literally doubled the audience.

How is a raven like a writing desk? Because they both have bills upon them.
That biblical quote about not swearing isn’t about profanity or taking the Lord’s name in vain. It’s about taking oaths on things I.e. I swear on my mother’s grave. Jesus said Don’t swear at all. let your “no” mean “no” and your “yes” mean “yes”.
