My Wife and I were just there the first two weeks of February. We went to the Cup Noodles museum after watching your video. It was a fun time for not very much expense. Enjoy your videos, thanks.
Kyde and Eric!! My wife and I look SOOOO forward to your videos. We may be strange but we call it a date night when one of your videos comes out and we get to watch it together. We love your sense of humor (fits us to a T) and we love japan. So there's nothing not to like about your video adventures. Thank you so much for spending the time to make these videos and know that it brings joy to many people like us!
Another excellent adventure guys! I don't know what brand of camera you are using these days but the video quality on this one was amazing. I watch your adventures on my 42" Samsung plasma and everything looks amazing. Keep up the good work.
Andrew Q Thanks! Awesome you watch our videos on your TV, that's really neat. We shoot with a Sony DSC-HX50V these days. I wish you could see the videos without UA-cam's aggressive compression, they look even better in their raw format. -Eric
I gotta say I always love watching your videos!!! I am constantly looking forward to your next ones. For sure it's a life goal to go to Japan, I honestly envy the two of you.
I'm off to Yokohama for the first time next year so this is a great insight for me. Oh and at around the 11 minute mark when you're talking about the 2000yen notes. I've got about 5/6 2000yen notes in my collection!
New vids !! YaY!! Always great to see nice 30+ min vids of your journeys in or on or at Japan haha!! But yeah, please film and edit more for us addicted to your travels' swagger 😎
You guys rock! Cup noodles looked fun, and the soup dumplings looked good. I've always thought Japan was fascinating. You have such a relaxed way about yourselves feels like talking with my friends lol thanks guys, Take care. Hello from Texas!
Really enjoyed the cup noodle tour. You guys really make us feel like we've been there. I especially like your appreciation for the different foods. Wish I could be there with you! Hey Eric...you know that meat on the stick was Monkey Meat right? ;-)
By the way, fans of the "Pretty Cure" anime series are pretty familiar with the Yokohama area. Two of the "All Stars" movies based on this franchise are based around the Minato Mirai section of town, and you see a lot of well-known landmarks in background.
The first time we went to Japan we had a bunch of 2000 yen bills (got them at a bank in Australia through a currency exchange). We learned quickly that this was a rare item from the reactions of all the Japanese folk when we went to pay.
The Japanese conbini industry never had a better spokesperson than the 2 of you. I always have a hankering for conbini food after watching your videos.
I really enjoy your video's, especially because of my trip to japan 3 months ago. Al those stories make me want to go back. btw: Belgium has a lot more than wafles (french fries, chocolate, beer, ...)
The food in Japan interests me. There's this dichotomy between highly processed convenience foods in exotic, seemingly kitschy flavors, and then the traditional, more culturally steeped standbys. The seafood, the soups, the traditional foods eaten with friends, family, coworkers...these things seem much more important there, Also, the drinking culture, which I'd love your guy's perspective on, seems so much more socially important than in America. Japan is wonderfully interesting!
Thank you for posting a lot of information on your videos! I leave Tuesday for baseball in the kobe region and was told hey our first meal is at 7/11... I was freaked out and did not want nachos before a long week ahead .. after watching yalls videos I am content on how much fun this trip/tournament will be! Thanks so much! Rick W.
That cheese waffles taste could be schmand/quark(similar to yogurt) cream with vanilla aroma. I love how creative and passionate the japanase are with food. They create much interesting taste combinations. I dont know if they have noodles made of sea fruits. Would be interesting.
I just subscribed to your channel today after watching 10 videos. Yall are the cutest couple I have ever seen. And seem so happy. Which makes watching yall so enjoyable. I hope yall get 1 million subscribers so yall can make money for these videos. Yall deserve it. I know I said yall alot. And yes I live in the south. Florida. Keep up the videos!
Michael Elenz Haha, thanks! Glad you enjoy the videos! I hope we can find a way to make more videos financially feasible as well! Thanks for the kind comment! -Eric
Thank you, Eric and Kyde, for this wonderful video!!! The balls with the soup inside looked delicious! And Eric, you are right. I came to the same conclusion about restaurants in touristic areas. They know their customers will be there only once and they can sell them terrible and cheap food for high prices. And Kyde, I love your chicken on the noodle-cup! Love, Maike
Kyde and Eric thanks for the reply, your welcome to come and join my Tachikawa ab facebook group, here is a link to thousands of Tachi ab photos from 1945 to 1977 www.flickr.com/photos/20576399@N00/sets/72157648726604968/
I love the interesting foods you guys find at 7-11s and other places. If nothing else I love Japan just for the unique food it has :-). Diffently nothing like that here in South Florida :-(
As it must be already explained by now, kitsune means fox, and for the food, means deep fried tofu. No apparent connection here, but fox was considered as an avatar of Inari (god of harvest and business). Generally speaking, fox is carnivore, animal meat, however, wasn't really ideal offering in medieval Japanese mind (because you've gotta kill, and people were like 99% Buddhist). So a theory says people started presenting deep fried tofu as an offering, making substitution. Then today, say kitsune or inari and it's fried tofu. Not quite sure if it's entirely true though.
yay new video! i am eating cup o noodles while i watch this! it's interesting about the exclamation points all around the cup- never knew that! i like kyde's fall theme :)
The bridge at the start was built in kit form in the USA in 1907, it took 2 years to transport it and assemble in Yokohama, thus the 1909 date would be correct.
40:00 that is called BUCHI and the filling is sweet mung bean paste or purple yum harlan.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-make-the-best-buchi-by-Harlans-Original-Recipe
Koto Nizna my mom used to buy them from China town all the time when I was a kid. I love the texture. there was also one that wasn't fried, and coated in shredded coconut, that one was my favourite!
Good morning Kyde & Eric. Thanks for answering. I love the episode about the expensive burger from McDonald's wow so pricey. Eric, sure loves his snacks. Have wonderful day! 🍦🍦🍦😂😂
The Fried Sesame Balls you ate in Chinatown were filled with adzuke Red beans. Normally you have three types of filling red beans, black sesame, or Lotus seeds. Nice you ate them fresh half the time they sit around during dim sum at a Cantonese Chinese restaurant on the carts being pushed around in a dinning hall, and it is always 3 per tray. Lotus seed filling is the best since it requires the most work in producing that filling :)
we also went to that china town. We took a picture with the panda, ate the same dumplings, and sampled some chestnuts lol. You are right tho, the food we got from a restaurant restaurant over there was disgusting. We didn't finish it.
Guys, this is one of the most entertaining videos. I laughed, I smiled and I wished I was there with you tasting all the new stuff. I never thought I would say this but I want a cup of noodles that I make too! Love you two... MAM
That's kind of interesting that 2000 yen is as illusive as a 2 dollar bill, I wonder if other countries have a strange currency that hardly anyone sees?
what app do you use to translate ?? and can it be used Offline? Thanks in advance! Loved your trip to yokohama video! Hopefully i'll be going there soon =]
hybridbeat On the computer, we use google translate but we know that it's not perfect! So beware. On our handhelds, we use an app called Akebi. You can use it offline which is good since we don't have internet on our handhelds! -Kyde
I haven't read all the comments so I don't know if it has been said before; I am guessing the big bubble package on the cup of ramen would be so you can ship the cup in the mail and the cup of ramen doesn't break.
Best food I ever discover are usually the little unassuming outfits. I always follow the locals, see where they go. Chinatown here too is kinda touristy but if you know where to go there's some quality places.
ladyamerias Hi Amy, glad you enjoyed the video. You gotta learn to love eggplant though, it's so good when made right! Don't get carried away by mosquitoes, take care! -Eric

Yokohama seems exciting ! Who knew a Cup Noodle Museum could be so interesting. Also, that dim sum squirting action was the most funniest thing I've seen in a few months. I had a feeling Eric would try an "Eric Sized Bite" on that dim sum with the "Don't do it" video behind. Priceless.
What are yall favorite tv shows in Japan where does Eric shop at for clothes and shoes what electronics do you have cellphones laptops and how do yall like your new place can you do a video on these topics please
Vashawn Brown 1. We don't really have time for TV, but Kyde sometimes watches things from the states. I'm not sure what though, haha. 2. There is a specialty store for shoes in Tokyo I go to which is great, and I can get pants at Uniqlo. Shirts from anywhere fit me. Jackets are tough, I got one in the states when I was there a few months back. 3. Kyde has a Nexus 4, I have a Nexus 7. Neither of us have cell service, we just use WiFi when we have it. We each have unremarkable i5 based 14 inch laptops that work fine. 4. We like our new place a lot. -Eric
I have to say , I'm totally addicted to you two! Amazing videos I will start the patreon contribution soon. Cold rainy day here in NC and I watched a ton of vids. I just get grossed out by the eggs in your burgers lol. I just had a ramen soup and though of you guys hah. ~Dino
You'll know this already but it took an hour because you'd made the same mistake we did - we took the express from Tokyo to Yokohama (very speedy) and we took the LOCAL train back (we could likely have walked faster).
We got a bunch of 2000 en bills from our bank in Canada before we went to Japan. Our Japanese friend also commented how rare they are! She hadn't seen one before.
"Hot or not, this shit's going down". Lol! Love your comments, Kyde! Can't wait to try it myself (hopefully a year from now, but just a vacation, not moving there).
I have had Kitsune Udon in a japanese restaurant before, it was some sort of sweetened roasted tofu...maybe that's what the flavour was supposed to imitate ^^
Vashawn Brown As mentioned by drmlabs we did one about a year ago, maybe we will do another one sometime. It took a really long time to shoot and edit though, so it's tough to schedule that in between all the other videos we want to make. Here's a link : kydeanderic.com/5000SubscriberQA -Eric
CNVideos Yea, I knew that but didn't understand what that had to do with soup so I figured it had another meaning. I'm still confused about the soup. -Eric
Aww I really want to go to the cup noddle museum now I love ramen and your chicken top is really cool and soo is kade's chicken it was really cute. You guys should make a video of akihabura you know if you like anime and stuff because I heard that it is amazing it might be a fun place to go and I have always wanted to see it. It is one of the places I definitely want to visit when I come to Japan.
Yup, I made the mistake of accepting a 'sample' chestnut there. Could not for the life of me convince them that I couldn't eat an entire bagful. Every attempt I made at gesturing for fewer, they'd grab an even BIGGER bag! Very awkward. :-/
I never realized how sincerely concerned Eric sounds about Kyde's chicken lol "he's not ugly, he just.... he needs help". makes you want to donate to the poor helpless chicken cause XD
Super-long vlog, but I liked it!! FWIW, I'd recommend next time breaking up the long video into shorter videos based on where you go, what you're eating, etc. I live in Yokosuka, which is 30-45 minutes south of Yokohama. Would love to make videos with you guys sometime!!
***** Glad you enjoyed the video! We don't like to slice videos up in a way that doesn't carry a narrative, so if they end up long because that's the footage we have, then that's how they get uploaded! -Eric
Does every country have an elusive bill or coin? - I know I have a 2 dollar bill and a dollar coin somewhere....I kind of want to find a 2000-yen bill now, maybe one day I'll hunt one down. Also, a museum for cup noodles....I think I've seen it all now. Just goes to show how we sometimes take things for granted, I mean come on Cup Noodles are so simple you would never think they have an ENTIRE BUILDING dedicated to them. Very cool video guys, that trip was fun!
Oh funny thing; There's an offer in a magazine here for a 2 dollar bill that costs 2 dollars. I feel like I'm being ripped off PAYING FOR MONEY, when I'm really not....unless there's a hidden shipping cost, but you know.
In Austria (maybe in whole Europe..) the 200 Euro bill seems quite rate, I think I have seen one ONCE...not because of lack of money, but because ATMs just give out 2 100 Euro bills and never a 200 euro bill it seems. so maybe there is a rare bill in every currency indeed ;-P
Hello from Brazil! I really enjoy watching you two (hmm kinda stalkerish thing to say -.-), you seem to be a really nice couple, like one really enjoy being with the other! Although some videos are really long, it is delightful to watch it and sometimes I have to stay alert so I don't get caught into the trap of watching one more hehehe. I do prefer to have one at time, at the time I come home from work, trying to relax and you two always make me laugh or smile while seeing you two going through new experiences (in this video I was trying to reach the tip of my nose with my tong as Eric does -.-) I would like to move to Japan, and I'm working on it (I work with IT stuff and studying Japanese so I can find a job there). It would be nice to meet you guys after I move there! Keep up with the good work on this channel, I really enjoy watching it!
Kyde and Eric Thanks for answering! Something I didn't say at the time I wrote you first time is that at that time I had a job offer already. Since I wrote you guys one month has passed, I have sent a lot of documentation to Japan, also the company which is trying to hire me gave the immigration a lot of documents and now these papers are being analyzed at the immigration office, they are going to say if it is ok for me to go or not and the answer seems to be close to come now. The interesting thing that I did not know at the time I wrote you two is that the city where I would go to to work and live is Yokohama, hahaha the same city of the video you two did! I really hope they are going to accept me there so I can move until the end of this month. It would be a huge dream becoming true for me. And also I could finally schedule to meet my favorite Internet video making couple XD! Again, I enjoy your work a lot! See ya guys!
Wow guys, you hit a lot of the major places in Yokohama! Yamashita Park and Osanbashi Pier are also good, with great views of the MinatoMirai skyline. Sankei-en Garden (ua-cam.com/video/dmPALbtR0jo/v-deo.html) is great in summer, mainly due to the Lotus (hasu).
My Wife and I were just there the first two weeks of February. We went to the Cup Noodles museum after watching your video. It was a fun time for not very much expense. Enjoy your videos, thanks.
+spydude38 Yeah! I want to go back! -Kyde
Hello. I grew up in Japan... from age ten to 22. Watching these videos of you guys bring back great memories.
Seth Pirtle That's great to hear! Where are you living now? -Kyde

I am back in the states now. If you want, I have some great spots I could suggest that I found over the 12 years I lived in Japan.

Darkkestral Thanks so much! It's easier to come (especially for a visit) than most people think. Just gotta commit! -Eric
Kyde and Eric I plan to, just need to find the right time to go ;)
I'm off to Yokohama for the first time next year so this is a great insight for me.

The first time we went to Japan we had a bunch of 2000 yen bills (got them at a bank in Australia through a currency exchange). We learned quickly that this was a rare item from the reactions of all the Japanese folk when we went to pay.
+Wayne Kruse Yea, no idea why but they tend to be common at currency exchanges outside of Japan. It's the only place I have ever seen them. -Eric

I really enjoy your video's, especially because of my trip to japan 3 months ago. Al those stories make me want to go back.
btw: Belgium has a lot more than wafles (french fries, chocolate, beer, ...)
Lipsiwipsi Awesome, thanks so much! We'd really like to go to Belgium to check out everything, hopefully we can someday! -Eric
Todd Teghtmeyer Fantastic!
We made the cup noodles as well:) I loved the cheddar cheese, kimchi, green onion and shrimp as the condiments:)
Nice!
This is very interesting, I'm 21 and hoping to go to Japan soon, there culture and creativity for things is amazing (:

Minatomirai/Sakuragicho is my hometown. You should check out World Porters (the big department store next to the amusement park!)
Andrew Leavitt We plan on going back to Yokohama for some more fun, so we'll check it out! -Kyde
Any idea why the train down to Yokohama took 1-hour instead of 20-minutes?
Because we live on the north side of the Yamanote line. -Eric
Thanks! I've visited Tokyo a few times, so I'm considering staying in Yokohama when I'm there for Cherry Blossom season. :)
Peter Loh It would be a lovely place to stay! -Eric

Kyde and Eric was the cheese waffle supposed to be like a cheese danish?
SubFront You know....maybe you are right. I haven't had a cheese danish in a really long time though, so I can't be sure. -Eric
I was there last year. We rode the big ass ferris wheel. I'm very terrified of heights! I was so pale and I was shaking when we got down from it.
If I remember correctly. there was a building in yokohama that looks like a vagina. LOL
lol a Vanessa that's crazy...

Hey guys yeh Japan rocks there is never a dull moment there
There ideas are great at the museum !!!!! Another great vid !!!!!
astroboy3507 Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks! -Eric
The Dim Sim you eat( the fried bun/dumpling), actually you should take a very small bite of the crust, suck the soup and eat the rest of the bun.
matthew perry has history with yokohama, also those are chinese chesnuts different than italian chesnuts which are hard to find bc they spoil quickly
-Eric
Thank u Kyde and Eric
is that "cheese Waffle" thing maybe a cream-cheese type filling? (similar to a Cheese Danish here in the states?? You did say its sweet.
drmlabs Yea, maybe that's what it is! I haven't had a cheese danish in a really long time though, so I'm not positive. -Eric
I love that you use the Akebi app! It's a wonderful dictionary!!!!!
Yes! It's the best dictionary I've ever seen, bums me out it's not more popular.
What was the dictionary app you used?
Jake Lance Akebi! It's amazing! -Eric
Kyde and Eric Where can I get it? It doesn't seem to show up on the Apple app store
Oh, we use Android devices.
I have to say , I'm totally addicted to you two! Amazing videos I will start the patreon contribution soon. Cold rainy day here in NC and I watched a ton of vids. I just get grossed out by the eggs in your burgers lol. I just had a ramen soup and though of you guys hah. ~Dino
DinoBakedZiti Haha, thanks for the message! Eggs on burgers is awesome, you gotta give it a go! -Eric
I would like to know your address?!
Love the video guys
jcreel234 Thanks! -Eric
Kyde & Eric do you like Japan? Is the language easy to learn? Japanese people are they friendly or racist??
Haha, we love Japan. The language is possibly the hardest in the world to learn for English speakers. People are very kind. -E
Japanese is not hard to learn :P
You'll know this already but it took an hour because you'd made the same mistake we did - we took the express from Tokyo to Yokohama (very speedy) and we took the LOCAL train back (we could likely have walked faster).
We got a bunch of 2000 en bills from our bank in Canada before we went to Japan. Our Japanese friend also commented how rare they are! She hadn't seen one before.
MelCanJapan Oh wow, awesome. Yea, I've only seen one in like 3 years here. -Eric
15:45 Eric is spelling eriedosesaclitus
+Bad time Sans Haha...what? -E
23:15 Where's the juice?
The juice left Egypt a long time ago.
Tristalmtg Oh man, great dad joke. -Eric
How is Yokohama in real life?
iipartyhat Super clean and nice. We'd like to live there! -Eric
"Hot or not, this shit's going down". Lol! Love your comments, Kyde! Can't wait to try it myself (hopefully a year from now, but just a vacation, not moving there).
+frappuccino68 Hope you make it here, it's a great place to visit! -E
"hate the bits, like the balls" kyde 2014
Upload more! Keep it up :) love em
Happy Cow Will do! Thanks! -Eric
Is your eye okay?
Mark Milotay Is there a problem that I forgot about? -Eric
It looks like Kyde has a black eye
Mark Milotay Hrm. She's alright. Maybe she was a bit tired. -Eric
I have had Kitsune Udon in a japanese restaurant before, it was some sort of sweetened roasted tofu...maybe that's what the flavour was supposed to imitate ^^
***** Yea, good call. That or tittyfruit. -Eric
Ask Katie and Eric series would be cool
they had one awhile back - check their vid list and you should find it.
Thank u
It looks like the guy in blue at 2:53 was filming the girl with the white bag :/
MrSpencer8989 Haha, sure did. Weird. -Eric
MrSpencer8989 I pulled the raw footage we shot and took at look at full resolution in slow motion and it 100% is a camera in his hand. Creepy. -Eric
Kitsune means "fox", the animal; also a supernatural shapeshifter called a "fox spirit.
that's what I thought too, nipplefruit is funnier tho.
CNVideos Yea, I knew that but didn't understand what that had to do with soup so I figured it had another meaning. I'm still confused about the soup. -Eric
I think this kind of udon is favored by those foxes, that's why it's called fox udon. I really like it, so simple but delicious 😋
Ive not seen a 2000yen bill yet, since it was made 20 years ago. Some people say they saw or used it. I wish I will have one, before I die, haha.
jaime0 They can't be *that* hard to track down! -Eric
Yup, I made the mistake of accepting a 'sample' chestnut there. Could not for the life of me convince them that I couldn't eat an entire bagful. Every attempt I made at gesturing for fewer, they'd grab an even BIGGER bag! Very awkward. :-/
sumatoborukiSaru Yeah, they are very pushy when it comes to nuts there! -Kyde
I never realized how sincerely concerned Eric sounds about Kyde's chicken lol "he's not ugly, he just.... he needs help". makes you want to donate to the poor helpless chicken cause XD
Hahaha
Super-long vlog, but I liked it!!
FWIW, I'd recommend next time breaking up the long video into shorter videos based on where you go, what you're eating, etc.
I live in Yokosuka, which is 30-45 minutes south of Yokohama. Would love to make videos with you guys sometime!!
***** Glad you enjoyed the video! We don't like to slice videos up in a way that doesn't carry a narrative, so if they end up long because that's the footage we have, then that's how they get uploaded! -Eric
I love it that they make long videos. It's their "trademark".
Alq Thanks! -Eric
That shirt is Epic!!!
We loved Kyde's chicken! Adorable!
ThePit Hahaha, I loved it too, despite it looking a bit...special. -Eric
Great country love it
Oh, I soooooooo want to go to the Foreign Cemetery!!
CNVideos Yea...us too! Haha.
Very cool video guys, that trip was fun!
lbonini1gaming Yea, I found it odd that the 2000 yen bill was rare here too, pretty neat. I'm sure you can buy one somewhere online. -Eric
I do prefer to have one at time, at the time I come home from work, trying to relax and you two always make me laugh or smile while seeing you two going through new experiences (in this video I was trying to reach the tip of my nose with my tong as Eric does -.-)
I would like to move to Japan, and I'm working on it (I work with IT stuff and studying Japanese so I can find a job there). It would be nice to meet you guys after I move there!
Keep up with the good work on this channel, I really enjoy watching it!
Ariovaldo Souza Junior We'll keep up the videos and you keep us updated on your Japan move! -Kyde
Ariovaldo Souza Junior Wish you the best! Hope it happens! -Kyde
***** Awesome! Thanks! -Eric
What I have never noticed your tattoos before!
Ritsuka Kun They are stealthy. -Eric
Are u gonna film the typhoon
tunechi985 Is there a typhoon coming? If so, no, it's usually just a bit of rain here in Tokyo, certainly not interesting for a video. -Eric
tunechi985 Oh, that video was filmed a while ago. The typhoon has come and gone, and no we didn't film it. -Eric
oh dang
