- Here's an update of our Everyday Dishes Cabinet. It's the cabinet closest to where we eat so that the table is easy to set for family meals. I choose only white dishes so that it looks streamlined and even more so that I don't get distracted by so many pretty dishes and want to buy them all!

I love that you shared your changes due to the transition with your son moving. You are showing people that organizing isn't a one-and-done situation. Our systems should be updated with lifestyle changes. Oy 😓 my daughter is going to be 18 in January. Ah I can't imagine her moving for college but know I need to let her go if I must. My husband always says, "Oh. You're organizing the organized." It makes me laugh each time. Never gets old. But it's true, life keeps changing. I didn't realize you had a child close to my son's age. I thought you were a mom of younger kids. It's that Filipina blood lol. I cried for 2 months when my son moved. He's been home all summer, and I am getting sad again...but we get to organize his studio. Yippee!

I love, love, Love dishes. Any excuse to buy pretty plates will do. I made the decision last year to go with all white nd then I found a new set of red and white Rachel Ray dishes. I keep thinking about going with all white. We’ll see. I really enjoyed this video. It’s Denise from Inner Circle.
Our children are grown with families of their own. My husband and I are retired and I've tried to simplify our lives. Our home doesn't have a formal dining, we have dining area. I keep our everyday dishes in a cabinet to the right above my range. Reason being, in a daily basis, I plate our meals directly on our plates, and take them to the table. As I said I'm trying to simplify life. I find no need to cook our meal, remove food from pans or crockpot to serving dishes. This only makes for extra clean-up. We can serve ourselves seconds if we desire. After dinner I put leftovers in containers, put in fridge. Clear dishes to dishwasher. Wash everything down. And relax! If I'm feeling romantic I'll prepare a special dinner, set the table extra fancy, with flowers and candles. And it's always appreciated and feels special. My everyday dishes are white, nice pops of color of choice can be added to this neutral pallet. My best dishes are in a cabinet closest to our dining room table.

Yeah I have a set of 12 for everyday porcelain dinnerware, glassware, and flatware. Plus several different size bowls, and platters. I have no idea how people manage with 4 or 6 place settings.
I can understand if there is 1 or 2 of them. But even now, with just hubby and I at home, I haven't lessened the number of plates. The only lessen when they break lol
Why do you store your glasses upright? I always store mine upside down because in my mind they gather dust. I know I'm a little crazy.
That’s a great question. In my mind, I don’t wipe the shelf liner everyday. I’d rather wipe the glass than the liner. I’m a little crazy, too.
Lol, I am the dish lady. I have so much it is ridiculous, A lot of my stuff is also white and clear glass
I know there are dish ladies! This is the worst time for me - Fall. The colors and designs of fall dishes are so pretty. I am able to say no to Thanksgiving and even the holidays (though a little hard).

I put my every day dishes directly above the dishwasher so you can unload right into the cabinet.

I like your setup. That's how we have our everyday dishes setup too, main plates and bowls with daily glassware all in the same cabinet. Plus this cabinet is right over our dishwasher too so makes loading and unloading super easy too. Thank you for sharing. Stay cool in this extreme heat.. although it's cooled down to a chilly 106 haha. God bless 😊

I actually watched a video of yours that you did a long time ago where you setup your cabinet for protein shakes/smoothies and it just made so much sense to me and my hubby that we decided to do our cabinets in a functional instead of aesthetic way. Makes life much easier!
