The 122 means it's the second MBT with a 12cm canon. The first one, 121, was the stopgap Leo leased from Germany. Previously there have been Strv 101, 102 and 103.
The 103 is the infamous S-Tank which was the 3rd MBT with a 10cm canon. I think you can see the pattern now. The first to digits is the caliber and the 3rd is which number it is line.
The 101 and 102 was the Centurion MBT.
There was a 104 aswell, also Centurion but upgraded with diesel engine, new sights etc

Yes we have, Carl gustaf, ammo, body armor, helmets, food rations. Hopefully we will be giving some Gripen 39 aswell considering that there is Ukrainian pilots training on the aircraft

the only difference between the strv122 and A5 is the turret height... swedes raised the roof for "better" visibility which is debatable if its actually better or not becouse the tank is made bigger and thus easyer to spot and hit... the rest is just addon packs that even the german variants have

Strv122 turret roof is dabatable if its better or not while everything else is on par if not the same as on the Leopard 2 variants ... heck even the Danish Leopard A5 is the same in every way except the turret

"Stridsvagn" literaly means Fighting Wagon. Stridsvagn is the Swedish generic word for "tank" in english

We don't brag so much about it. Sensitive topic, but it is a really big export business for Sweden.
And because of this war our gear, thinking mainly about the Archer, gets to prove itself in the field. It will sell like butter thanks to russias invasion of Ukraine.
It has historic reasons.
As a block free country they used their status of neutrality for arms exports to nations that wanted weapon systems without a catch and/or pissing of one side of the cold war.
That said, they make damn fine systems. That's not easy for a small country.

The way I see it a alliance is worth 10% of military hardware when they are defensively dependent,I'd like to see Australia send some strike master in the future, the way I see it one out of ten made should go to Ukraine untill we have 1,125 that it'd be slow going yet over the yrs ukraine could get 112 strike master
A alliance at 10% of the military hardware made it just means we are not getting the wholesale price for the weapons, the missile for them cost AU $3.21m so just to fully load a strike master in Australia costs $6.42m, it's not a good value for money system yet it's very effective over land or water. That ukraine would be on their own a lot to get the missile yet it's a delivery system for a missile
The naval strike missile costs US $2.194m , I think we need to build our own missile to get costs down they are not American made so I like it's another supply chain more effective than himars rockets yet more expensive as a missile,

At press conference people say what they want, in reality...they send a little extra just to mess up Orc counting parties. Remember, even the most advanced tech can be destroyed but the most important part is to make sure the soldier survives. Experience is one of the most important resource . Finland is sending only 3 tanks that are modified for anti mining purposes. They are not sending battle tanks.

In what way is it an upgraded version. Leopard 2 A5 is much older than Germanys Leopard 2 A7V+ versions. It doesn't matter, the main thing is that you support the Ukrainians against the Orcs.

@NATO, Sweden: If one puts SAR "Synthetic Aperture Radar" abilities onto the enemy tanks, or better yet, on NATO tanks and other allied vehicles, one can see past those, "smoke" grenades, etc.... You can do it, NATO. Also, if you do end up doing it, keep it low-profile. Let the enemy be in for a bad surprise.

Smoke grenades arent for hiding from tanks, its in order to protect from laser guided weapons, like guided bombs or anti tank missiles.

2. 8 Archer, with support vehicles, are supposed to be sent
which version of the cv90 do you mean?
@@2.Cuzzzz I’m not sure which version that is being sent, but there are in the Swedish army versions A-E, all with the 40mm but with better performance in protection and software like aiming, firing software, IR etc etc. there are 100 of the latest D and E versions and it’s 50 of those E models, which are upgraded C/C+. The best version today is the Dutch version and these two Swedish versions are just below or equivalent. Weight is 28 tons compared to 23 in the earlier versions. To bad that we aren’t sending some Lvakan cv90 as well, those are dedicated AA versions. Intermingled with the other CV90 they could provide protection from helicopters and UAVs

Look it’s a question of the crew’s training, experience on combat engagements with enemy tanks, combined arms tactics- soo far the Ukrainians have held their own with Soviet era T-64s now they have the ability to make a difference. The UAF will now have the means to end this war.

Vagn, seemingly one of the hardest Swedish words for Anglophones to pronounce. Though I don't blame them; the soft 'ng-n' sound is not intuitive especially given the word means wagon.
Technically today it's more "vehicle". Personvagn, e.g., wouldn't translate into personal wagon but personal vehicle.
