You know what this made me realize? If 64 does get a remake in the modern style, that would mean all the chapters (except for 8) would have to remix the main battle theme in different styles. Like a desert style, a spooky style, a toy style, a volcano style, a garden style and an ice style. Edit: Guys, Color Splash, Origami King and TTYD Remake didn't have battle themes for the last chapters. Why do you want a battle theme for chapter 8 when the modern titles didn't have them?
@@asherrudick3912bowser's castle won't need one considering that origami castle and palace of shadow also don't have battle themes. But i definitely agree with kent c koopa getting his own theme.
@@kkirby999nah, i feel like bowser's castle would totally have a battle theme, bowser doesn't have the same vibe as olly or shadow queen so i feel like it'd make more sense for Bowser's castle to have a battle theme, probably a very intense one, but a battle theme nonetheless
I think one of the reasons would be because Nintendo gave us a remix of the battle theme in TTYD, other remixes all lean towards the electronic style of the original TTYD iirc
@@bekfstman9841theres a few that try too hard to feel heavily orchestrated and grand but as a side effect make the lead instrument either a weird synth or a violin with no release in its notes
this is genuinely the best and only truly amazing one of these i've ever heard, and by FAR my favorite remix of this song i've ever heard. it seems you have a real understanding of the little things the modern games like to do, as opposed to just "using saxophones"! probably the biggest thing is that you didn't just loop the song instantly and instead kept the melody going but with slight variations, which REALLY helps make it more listenable outside of just in-game. there are also so many little flourishes you add which feel so authentic, and add a lot of texture to the song!! another big thing you do is you which i love is you don't have an over-reliance on one instrument in particular - you let a fair share of them have more presence in one part of the song or another. i feel like that's something a lot of people who try to do this kind of remix fail to capture! i feel like that's a pretty big thing in a lot of jazz music, so it's a bit strange it's so often left out. LOVE the flute and violin you used in particular!! so great!! so authentic!! also, MAJOR shout-out to the extra parts of the song you added. it adds a MUCH-needed pace change. i really feel like this is as close as we can get to hearing how nintendo themselves would re-do this song. i will be listening to this probably forever. you are incredibly skilled!! i hope we might get to hear more songs from this game in this style from you! or, well, any game. or original compositions. or, uh... i dunno!!! i just love jazz!!! anyway, thanks for making this! :)
i actually love this so much it sounds so good and sounds exactly like a modern paper mario track! !! i think it'd be really cool to hear the battle theme from partners in time and bowsers inside story in this style
Definitely one of my top 3 remixes of this song. I also like that you gave the remix something new like Paper Mario 2 the first battle theme you hear in Game.
An interesting idea: chapter 3 would emulate blue streamer, having different battle themes for the mansion/forever forest, and for gusty gulch/tubba blubba's fortress.
Very very good job at extending the theme to add a bit more meat and variety to it, and also really great layering and mixing on the instruments. Everything sounds very clean and professional.
Awesome dude! Hey you think you could make different variations of this remix depending on the chapters like desert, spooky, toybox, jungle, meadow, and ice themed variations like when the thousand-year door remake had different renditions of its own battle theme?
Ok, I gotta know how you make these. Your stuff is amazing! I've been trying to find a way to replicate the modern Paper Mario style for ages, and I just can't.
@notnotnotyoshi Thanks! I've specifically been trying to find/replicate some of the synths like in the Color Splash event battle theme or the one you used in that MEGALOVANIA cover of yours.
yeah, ttyd already has pretty up to standard visuals and gameplay, i feel like a simple port would have done the trick, 64 on the other hand, a couple of graphical enhancements could do wonders for that game!
I think 64 manages to stay pretty charming despite being on the N64. TTYD... not as much. Granted, this might be my "wanted to try TTYD rather than replay 64" brain talking.
Huh I wonder how fans are going to react if Nintendo made the remake of N64 Paper Mario before thousand year door? Well I hope they do make a remake or remaster of the game because it feels like Nintendo needs more time to make the next Paper Mario games that's just the first 2.

You forgot Bowser’s Castle, Tubba Blubba’s Mansion, and maybe Kent C Koopa, if he doesn’t already have a theme. Just curious.

@@DeltaBlazin I disagree. Plus, it keeps the tradition of the final world's theme playing during battles.
@DeltaBlazin I can almost hear a very intense bowser-fied battle theme in my mind's ear
this actually goes so hard wtf
hiii :3
Probably the best Battle Fanfare remix honestly, other remixes just dont feel right to me

Maybe on the Switch's successor, a Paper Mario 64 remake might come out.
i hope so.. though, i'd much rather get a new game
We need a new game first then a remake of Pm64 after like the Switch era. A Paper Mario game is every 4-years.
I would definitely prefer they make a new game, though I always did think PM64 would be the game to remake before TTYD's came out.
Sure, but after Paper Mario 7.
Exactly what I needed to start the day, thank you

It would be really interesting to hear battle variants for Mario & Luigi, or Super Mario RPG.
This sounds accurately about right to what a remake would do
I love this Remix so much, like this might actually be the most perfect PM64 Battle Fanfare Remix to ever exist, Excellent Job!!!
Wonderful! I love this! I can't stop smiling hearing this rendition!
This would be perfect for a remade Paper Mario 64 OST to go alongside the Paper Mario HD mod! 👌 🎧 🎶
You even made a thinking segment for this?! This is an incredible remix, it could genuinely pass as official. Amazing work!
I imagine this song as music for a Mario Kart 8 track!
What's funny Is that there Is a Mario kart track that's based on a location from paper Mario 1 (not counting the bowser Castle in gba rainbow Road)
The thinking phase was a nice touch👍
Definitely one of my top 3 remixes of this song. I also like that you gave the remix something new like Paper Mario 2 the first battle theme you hear in Game.
This is _fantastic_ 🔥
Love the new brass solos!! 🎺
If they remake it, it should sound exactly like this and the art style like the ttyd remake, but one solid model.
okay this is easily the best modern-styled remix of 64's battle theme yet. bravo my man
Wonderful timing, I actually just started playing this game for the first time on the Switch a couple weeks ago!! Lovely remix my man
This sounds perfectly like what a remake would do! I would definitely listen to any remixes of this you make for chapter 2, 3, 6, 7, or especially 4!
An interesting idea: chapter 3 would emulate blue streamer, having different battle themes for the mansion/forever forest, and for gusty gulch/tubba blubba's fortress.
oh this RULES
Battle Fanfare is my favourite Normal Battle theme from a paper mario and you fucking NAILED it
Wow, this is so good! It really captures the vibe of modern Paper Mario. I love that you included a "thinking" version as well!
we should get spm remixes! ( Lineland Road, Gloam Valley, Flipside)
Hey pretty killer cover! Love 64’s battle theme the most so it would be super cool to get an official remix of it.
You did an incredible job, it sounds amazing!
Great job with this.
This proves original Paper Mario also deserves a remake 👌
Very very good job at extending the theme to add a bit more meat and variety to it, and also really great layering and mixing on the instruments. Everything sounds very clean and professional.
Underrated asf
Bro this is a VIBE!
I would LOVE to see you do Closing Battle (Count Bleck's battle theme)
mixing is a bit odd on some instruments but it’s a cute remix
This is super good ❤

im not really sure how to explain how to do it honestly, i just recreate the modern games' instrumentation with virtual instruments as best as i can

now want a paper mario 64 remake even more
This remix only farther cements the fact that Paper Mario 64 should have gotten remade instead of TTYD.

TTYD is by far the fan favorite though.
So it makes more sense, especially since 64 is on Nintendo's online service.
Needs to be more jazzy with the saxophones!
ok now i just want a 64 remake :(
You even did the added verse they like doing
