I think Boyd Coddington once said “it’s a lot of work for something 98% of people won’t notice, but it’s the 2% that do that mean something” Killer work, mate
G’day and greetings from Tasmania, the EH was my first car but not a Ute I have very fond memories of her even though I’m 67. You have done a beautiful job of that tailgate I can picture what she will look like when she is finished, it’s great watching you restore it. You’re a good restorer and it’s very pleasing to see that is Aussie restoration instead of the US which bombard UA-cam. Take care and look after yourself John
Brilliant work Pete a true mastercrafts man, shame the average joe blow won't realise the effort that goes into a build like this, awesome work, love the channel, cheers.
Really enjoy watching your workmanship. Well done loving this cars progress mate. My Father is doing an EH Special Sedan as I type and is in bare metal at present.
@@ProShop1 my pleasure guys, awesome seeing Aussie cars on Aussie channels Keep at it, will eventually pay of clean fab work, from and old school panel beater fabricator by trade 😊👌👍👊🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🍻🦘
Gorgeous. I love EJ holden. Always had EJ's in early 80's but wanted an EH. when I finally had a couple I wanted to go back to my EJ. The station wagon. Yours is a beaut mate. EJ style tail lights are a nice looking thing. What was one of the greatest parts of the EJ was how much paint was on it and it stuck like the proverbial to a blanket. Well a hell of a lot better than that really. Tight welds, solid panels and no rust. I gotta stop before I go and kick my arse for selling it. Nice touches you're adding. Might have been bloody popular in the 60's like that. The red 149 was a pearler in my one. So smooth the driver would try to start it again at the intersections sometimes but it would still be running. I guess your going for the RB 30 DE (T?) ? That'll be mental A F mate !
I think 🤔 I’ve said it before but I’m going to say it again you are the best I’ve ever seen in the business of modifying cars !!!! You’re also giving me ideas on my EH ute and my xh falcon ute love your videos you are one talented man thank you 🙏 I feel privileged watching you work amazing
That's almost identical to the way 'I'm doing my '39 Ford ute, my main problem is that I can't purchase a outer skin for the tailgate, and I'm unable to hammer in the shape at the top without a power hammer.
I want A hard top for my HD Holden ute too, I was looking at overlapping the top, with a rubber seal under the overlap, so it seals to the top of the ute back to stop water getting in. I'm curious as to how you plan on stopping water getting into the gap between the top and the sides of the ute back ?
Some people have questioned the EJ fuel filler, you have said the ID plates read EH. Do you think the rear quarter panel has been replaced at some stage?
Given that you’ve had your jig/fabrication table for approx 12 months now, how do you feel about it, its size and do you have any other comments about it. Thanks
Apart from my guillotine and folder it's probably the best bit of equipment I have in the workshop. I don't know how I've gone so long without it. Just having a flat surface to weld on makes all of a difference.

Killer work, mate
Thanks mate
As always, absolutely top shelf Pete, attention to detail & craftsmanship are second to none.
Cheers Mathew
100% agree
Really enjoy watching people who know what they’re doing and I’m learning heaps too thankyou

Always enjoy watching the how to stuff. Craftsmen obviously. Great stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it
Attention to detail. Slow n steady, I love it.
Glad you like it!
Absolutely amazing workmanship and ingenuity. I’m going to give my tailgate a crack
I look forward to seeing more of this EH
Thanks Mark

Thanks Mick. I try to put as much into these videos as I can but you are right, there is so much time and effort that a lot will never see.

Coming along nicely brilliant 👏 👌 🍻🍻🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺👍🦘🍻🏔👊🍻🍻

bloody good again mate.
I haven't opened an EH tailgate in 40-odd years as soon as you mentioned the latch I remembered using a screwdriver to flick/pry the bastard open.
Yep. I remember doing the same

Beautiful work. Lots of attention to detail, especially in places where a lot of these old Holdens are filled with fibreglass and bog🔥
Thanks mate

Thanks Michael. Much appreciated
Really nice work.
Thank you
You're a great tradesman 👍👍
Cheers Steven
NICE WORK MATE I meet you at the power hammer course at Moto Retro hope you're doing well mate. Aaron @ The Resto Shop
Yeah I remember you Aaron. I still haven't got my power hammer yet... It's on the list and the list keeps getting bigger.
Very very inspiring
The idea's just flow
Great work
Top job Pete.. you are master of panel work.. looks smick
Cheers Rod
nice job on the tail gate but one flaw in your hard top by being a flush fit water will lay in the gap on the sides
I've thought the same and I have a plan to fix it
You are 100% correct about "billet handles" for the tailgate, I need two !! PS, I love your solution.
Thanks Mick👍
Wow, awesome skills. First time watching, now subscribed
Thanks Paul
Ripper! Thanks for sharing your skills
My pleasure!
It's a pleasure to watch you work awesome skill and pure craftmanship!.
Thanks Darren

I think a power hammer will be my next big purchase
such patient craftsmanship
Thanks Pete 🙏🙏👍👍
Very welcome Bill
Damn Pete your good man love your work keep it up mate 👍 👌
Thanks Ian🙏
Really in joy that good to see you
Thanks Dean
Instead of the cable stays would a 2 piece strap in 20mm x 3 mm flat plate sit in flush when it’s closed? Inspirational work.
Yeah I did something similar on the HR but I thought I'd try the cable this time.
Making it LOOK easy.
Love your work mate 👌
Much appreciated
Excellent.
Great work
Thank you so much 😀
Fricken awesome work man. Cheers.
Your channel is great, the rb ute is mint. Did you do a clip for the turbo manifold. Can't find your business just golf pro shops 😂
Thanks Paul. The turbo manifold I didn't build. Good thing with these RB's is there are so many parts available.
Awesome work mate.
Thanks a lot!

I'll make drains just like in a sunroof
Yep, a lot of work
Great work 👌🏼
Thank you 🙌
It’s hard to tell from the videos but How long did this take?
I did it over 3 days
Beautiful job on the tailgate, the original hinges are terrible!
Thanks. Yeah they were the first thing to go.
Some people have questioned the EJ fuel filler, you have said the ID plates read EH. Do you think the rear quarter panel has been replaced at some stage?
Yeah someone has replaced the rear quarter. The tags definitely say EH
so when you put the hard lid on the channel where does the water go to when it rains?
I'll tackle that problem in the next video
ahh a "future me" project, got it
Beautiful job. Do you file finish your work?
Thanks. I can but not too many people will pay for the time it takes
Thanks can you tell me where you got the turbo manifold please.
It was through Platinum Racing Products

@@ProShop1 thanks for the reply.
bit bloody rough mate, sorry fantastic job
Cheers Tim
Its an EJ not an EH All EJ's have a door for the fuel cap and all EH's have just a hole to fill up. This is not an EH ute.
Very neat, alot of work for sure, do you know the Khaos Designs channel lady that does the mini Trucks ?
No but I'll go look her up now
No
Hard lid?
