One of my favorite shows on UA-cam! I grew up driving a obs Chevy in high school. Sold it when I was a sophomore and it haunted me for 10 years. I would have dreams I was washing it lol😅I finally found one identical to it. 93 red 2 door z71 stepside 350/5speed that I’m going to have my boy drive when he’s old enough and just got a hold of a 96. Installing the qa1 front and rear suspension this week, front and rear big brake kit while I’m there as well. Sourced me an aluminum 5.3 and 4l80e and just got my Magnuson tvs 2300 last week so now I gotta start getting a list of parts for drivetrain!
Love the OBS trucks. These were the body style that I grew up with in the 90's. Always wanted a single cab short bed V8 with a manual. My dad has an '01 NBS, so we'll probably end up building it instead. Looking forward to when the aftermarket discovers these trucks.
Just bought a Black wild patina OBS Short Bed... and a 74' Blk/Silver/Blk Cheyenne... it's on now. am almost finished with my 99' OBS SUBURBAN... lowered 6/7.5" ! Love thischannel and Robby's Truck channel! KUDO'S gentlemen! Respectfully, Seth
I'm building an 89 C1500, also manual, most of the suspension and steering is done but I'm chasing down the last bit of play in the steering. The only thing I haven't replaced related to steering is the linkage and everything in the cab. The linkage is fine so I'm looking at rebuilding or replacing the column so I'm pretty interested in this. I'd prefer to keep the factory turn signal and cruise control lever though. I do need a new ignition cylinder and to fix/replace the steering lock so a full replacement might be best. I'm more concerned with performance and aesthetic than I am price but I'm not really finding options for these trucks aside from universal applications. Also love the offset shifter idea, I'll have to look into that when I swap my engine and transmission.
As much as I loved your race truck it was out of reach and more than most need, this project is one I’m really going to appreciate so thanks for getting it going and taking us along !! 🤔 would tick performance have a shifter to replace my stock 5 speed in my first Gen S10 …
Siked for this build! I actually juat purchased a 92 rcsb k1500 in summit white with the red interior. It's just a lifter tapping v6, but i love it. I'll swap it in the future when it decides to give out. 318k and still ticking😅
Awesome updates, Jesse. Keep em comin!! 1. Any idea on weight savings between the stick column and the ididit? 2. I’ve been eyeing that tick short throw shifter and the clock offset adapter. My truck needs it badly. I actually fumbled a shift mid-run 2 weeks ago because of it. Thanks for showcasing that!
Very interested in this build. I am currently rebuilding my 89 that I purchased new. Have a 6.0 LQ9 with turbo and 4L80E sitting in it. I have put a 14 bolt rear end in it with a 4/6 drop.
Thanks bro. For showing the mods in this video. Its very similar to what Id like to do with mine. Im building a RWD 98 2door short bed Silverado. 406sbc NA. 4L60E. Im Going to get another trans. Uncertain about which one. I Will eventually change the suspension as well. Do you have an IRS set up for these trucks? I plan to sometimes aggressively daily/AutoX and maybe some road course driving.
I am also one that likes the earlier interiors over the 96-98.
Man, I freaking love the garage build
Thank you!
Love the build. You blew my budget with the purchase. 😂 Can’t wait to see where it goes.
That column is very cool. Diggin’ the direction on this one.
Love the tie in between Jdm and obs I came in the game with Honda too !!

Haha. Thanks for watching! Sounds like your truck is going to be killer.
Looking forward to more in this series.
Good stuff Jesse. That knob definitely gives me Spoon duracon vibes. I dig it. Excited for the progression of this thing!
Love what you are doing, would love to show you mine
Shoot me an email!

They will be a popular truck but it’s still a little early for there to much support.

Can’t wait for more level 7 obs parts
This is perfect timing. I’m building my Chevy obs right now. Going from 4x4 to awd.
Very cool!
@@level7motorsports Thanks! Definitely getting inspiration from this channel. Very helpful
Love the videos. Now for some of us poor folks my only request is to mention how much these products cost. Keep up the great work.
Great suggestion!
Love this. You have great vision. I can’t wait to see how this turns out.
Thank you. Having fun with it.
Loving this series, since you’re going race seats I’ll pay shipping for the SS seats to my place. lol. Those are nice.
Haha. They are already gone.
Looking forward to watching. As crazy as it sounds, is there a possibility of numbering the videos so I know if I'm missing one of the series?
They’re all in the Rei video playlist in chronological order. That should help.

There is a guy in Nashville TN that can rebuild the column. Just google steering column repair in Nashville. He helped with a 1990 OBS column for me.

Thanks for following along. But I would suggest you talk to Tick about a shifter.
Can't wait to see what you do and will we be able to use some of your tips and parts for our obs projects.
Absolutely!

Very cool. Love the white trucks.
Have fun with those motor mounts...not the same as v8 trucks
Right on!
Awesome updates, Jesse. Keep em comin!!

This column is just a few pounds. Much lighter than a stock column!
93 OBS, 5.3, 98mm turbo, TH400. Drag truck.
Perfect!

So cool that you’ve kept it this whole time.
Why did the original owner swap the interior to a later one? Enjoying your build
They swapped it to the older style interior just out of preference.

Yes you can do a Soeedtech chassis with IRS for these trucks.
You mentioned something a while back about harness bars for squarebodies. Is that still in the works?
Yes we just aren’t the ones doing them. I believe Infinite is going to sell them. More info on them in the future.
You're killing me Jesse!!! Hey i was 100 on the thumbs up... Do i get a prize? Like some NBS builds.
what fuel rails are you running here thanks!
Not sure. Just some eBay stuff.
Hell yea obs parts coming …
I am building a OBS can you give us a link to the harness bar?
Just as soon as they are available I will!
How did you get the work wheels to fit on the obs !!? Super sick build by the way man !
Just adapter spacers.
Don’t T56s have 2 mounting positions for the shifters? I don’t think it needed to go that far back
Only Magnums have multiple mounting locations.
I see. Thanks!
How nice are the SS seats. Are you selling them
They were a solid B+ but are already sold.
What clutch master is that?
Just stock
👍🏽
I wonder what “fab shop”😂
Haha. I know a guy.
Do a longer videos of all the parts you are putting on not just sponsored parts.
how is that a96 with that interor they changed in 95 so that has to be a 94
@@wh1teboy The previous owner swapped the interior out from a 91 truck.
Please show people basic ways to help people like me to help us make are trucks better. We're broke!!!
Iam normal person I own a 1995truck wanting to make it happen. Already did the belltech supenchen 6 7 drop everything else is stock

Here's my rag joint video on these trucks.
Very cool. We already sell a complete intermediate steering shaft.
We me don't have the money too do what you are doing. But cool video.
The guy who originally built that truck probably wants to stick his beard in his cnc machine while its running seeing this thing like this.
They really saw you coming you overpaid for this truck needs ton of work
That's the point...😂
We don't have a fabrication shop. Just saying
but you can go to one and most people who work on cars have welders at home
