Great video Renee - you and Taco work so well together - so natural with each other. I hope you cleared loads of 'stuff' ready to start collecting for next season. Take special care 🙂 X X
Selling things for $1 is great because it encourages people to buy more, we usually give them bulk deals anyway, and it allows for us to move inventory at a quicker pace. It's hard to resist something for $1, especially since that's cheaper than the $1.00 Store now!
Oh, absolutely❣️ This will be a great way for me to declutter some estate left-overs that no longer have meaning for the family. It would feel better for me to sell these things in person for a dollar or in a bundle rather than giving it all to charity. You’ve inspired me to give this a try. There may be someone out there who will appreciate some of the accumulated memorabilia along with odds and ends. 🙂
Hi Renee. I loved the format for comments and cute (moose) graphics! That early rush made me think of how the ToteMan must feel🤗 It looks like you had some good stuff!💜
The Tote Man has it down to a science, that's for sure. Allowing the buyers to unload his trailer helps out in the process, because there is no way he would be able to unload it all himself & handle people making purchases. He probably wishes we were all around to help him pack it all up at the end of the day!
The rush of early buyers was interesting. I hope you and Taco Stacks made some good money. It's convenient to team up to sell. One of you can go away (to shop for yourself, for other necessities) and there's still someone at the tables. Best wishes from autumnal Berlin Gabriele
Some great impressions of a typical flea market day when the sun is shining. 🌄For us it was always a little bit annoying to get a whole bunch of "early birds" while we were setting up, and sometimes we even got some early thieves. 🧐But hey, that´s real life, and you can´t give numbers to every potential visitor or customer. Keep it up, and a retro shag hairstyle would fit you perfectly, by the way. 😉Just my humble opinion. Greets from GER, U.
I don't mind the early birds at this flea market. Early birds at another flea market that always want to go in the trunk of my car or in my backseat to see what I have, nope! Each flea market is different, with their own set of shoppers, so you learn what to expect from each. The retro shag hairstyle, I don't know... I think of having bangs and what if they turn out horrible, then what do I do?? Haha
Is that a Dawn Doll? Dawn Dolls had the most fabulous Mod fashions. I have not thought about them in years. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I'm still reeling from the set of Kohls sheet you found at the flea market in yesterday's video. What an amazing score. You are a thrifting queen!
You are correct - the Topper Dawn Dolls! For $5 that wasn't bad, but I think she was missing her shoes (if I remember correctly). A few years ago, I found a bag of Topper Dawn dolls at the flea market and that was my first time reselling them. A quick lesson into how popular they still are!
@@PaperandMoose My older cousin gave me her collection of Dawn Dolls when I was a kid. I was obsessed. What a wardrobe these ladies had! Barbie took a backseat for a while. I have no idea what I did with them. Seeing one today brought back some great memories. Your videos are so much fun. I look forward to all of your future reselling & treasure hunting adventures!
The rush at the start has got to be invigorating and overwhelming also, but always fun. Makes the slower times seam mundane. Good weather, good crowd. 👍👍
It is much easier to handle the rush when you are selling with someone. There's no way I would be able to deal with all the people by myself. It would be one tote out, wait 10 minutes to handle the purchases, and then another tote... I'd be setting up long after the rush left! Always nice people at this market, makes it fun to sell at!
Great flea market video and day of sales for you two.🎉❤️👏😍 The weather was almost perfect for you and looks like you had some good sales today.🤔😮🤩 Take care.👍🔥❤️👌
I can’t tell you how happy your sweatshirt makes me! I lived in Champaign-Urbana for 30 years, I’m now in Kentucky, and I miss C-U desperately! Go Illini!
Great video. Reminds me of when I was selling at the flea market. This time of year was good for flea markets because it was a lot cooler. But then we stay warm longer here in NC than you probably do in Pa. Thank you for what you do to entertain us.
Hello Renee. A wonderful day at the flea market it looks like. I enjoyed the walk around. A lot of interesting stuff out there. It’s great watching you and Taco work together. And if either of you need a time out or potty break the other is there to watch over things and keep making sales. Hope you made some a lot of cash. Good stuff! Renee, as I commented long ago in one of your earlier videos: A bad day at the flea market still beats a good day at work! And this was a good day at the flea market! Maybe there’s no such thing as a bad day. ;-)
So often the case that whenever you need to do something with your stall, that’s when the punters come a-flocking! I don’t know how bad the financial situation is over there, but certainly takings are down on our stall this side of the ocean. Customers are wanting the cheapest option you have and are picky with it, I have heard the word ‘tat’ mentioned at least three times this year by visitors commenting on the state of our market, which is a criticism that I take seriously as I know that the traders on our market go to great lengths to source good quality vintage items.
Busy start with the sunrise. Eager customers. Tacos knees. Many shouts of ‘ a dollar! A dollar!” All good. Not much on the buying, but lots of footfall I thought….
That is some brisk sales! Looks like great weather for it, too. I would have been all over that Darth Vader transfer. I wonder how much they would have asked for it.
Liked the video The big flea market at shop at on the weekend doesn’t take any more reserve places. This has led to sellers having to set out stuff on Thursday morning, early, to save a spot for Saturday…Lots of folks not to happy about this We used to sell at flea markets, I enjoyed it most times and sort of miss it but hard work
They set out Thursday for Saturday?? Just tables and tents or do they actually leave their selling inventory out overnight? That would be crazy to leave that out for those days.
@@PaperandMoose I think most just put up their tables and some merchandise that they tarp up to mark their spot. Some people might sell on Friday but some not to Saturday but they still have put out stuff on Thursday to keep the spot. It’s crazy I think.
We all love to snoop! I saw a couple of nostalgic items: those old glass milk bottles...the kind my late dad delivered (Golden State Dairy) and the Popular Science Mags., also Popular Mechanics...featured everything from practical to wildly futuristic subjects. Seems one never runs out of old jewelry...saw tons of it in my thrifting adventures! That's what I miss, are the people I'd meet at the sales.
Renee, just wondering, are there any other dealers at the flea market that sells $1 items? Costs have gone up on everything, maybe you need to charge more 2 for $3. You always have nice items. Why would anyone go to a flea market and not have your own bags ? Looks like it was a good day and teamwork makes everything go better ❤
There was a seller that day with a 25-cent section! We do have $3 items, we just bring them on another day when everything is $3. Most people, especially in the morning rush, buy several items anyway and we feel that the $1 price is suitable for us and allows for the buyers to get a good deal while also buying more because things are just $1. Most of these items come from our storage units, so we've made the money back on the higher-end eBay or local auction house items. Selling for $1 is an easy way for us to move inventory out so we have room for more :0)
Hey. Looked like a good day. Hope you made lots o’bread. Did you end up with any of those photos or cards? I’m back in Chicago and the Wi-Fi in this hotel is suboptimal (and by that I mean it sucks). Have a great rest of Monday!
I didn't buy anything this time at the market, well I did buy some little pumpkins for my porch :0) Sorry about the Wi-Fi, you would think with our technology little things like that wouldn't be a problem. Hopefully that's the only issue with the hotel!
Definitely sure there something With them not as Flea Market Partner or Partner in Crime for Auction😊..but it's ok since both of them Single and Available...🎉❤
Not at all. We came back with maybe 3 bins full, went there with at least 12-15 bins. You would be surprised at how $1 items add up. Selling that way allows for us to move inventory at a quicker pace & clear up space.
