Please keep Emily. She´s soo disco both in the pist or in the studio.I have my custum Aluflex mono but still looking for long radius early 90 about 185 lenght mogul ski.
Hey Richard! A mixture of both, but mostly "unisex" skis, as I would describe them. She skis a Bent 100 a lot, which isn't really men's or women's. She also has QST Stella 106, and Salomon uses the same construction across men's and women's QST.
I think this offseason it's time to revisit the "what's in my quiver" conversation with Emily and with whoever of you have turned over half your quiver in three years.
Hey Patrick! I'm thinking about doing another round of those in the fall, as some of us are planning new skis for next season (Emily included). I do, however, think it's time to revisit those!
I need to pick a ski for my teenaged daughter. 16 years old 90 lbs 5’3”. Intermediate and wants to advance. Skis 20 days per year. East coast. Mostly groomers. Black pearl 82 or 88? Or should we get her these Sheevas? Currently skiing and outperforming Head pure Joy skis.
Hello! Sheevas might be overkill right now for her size and ability level, especially since she's mostly on east coast groomers. I think Black Pearl 88 would be an excellent choice. A step up from her current skis, enough width to venture into new terrain, but not a wild departure from what she's been skiing, so won't create any bad habits or anything like that. Good stepping stone ski for someone like her and in a couple years, she'll be ready for a ski like the Sheeva 9.
Would a Black Pearl 82 be a more measured option or do you just skip to the 88? I don’t hear much comparison between the 82 and 88. Most seem to just push for the 88? Also what length would be ideal? (She corrected me … she’s actually 5’5” and closer 100 lbs.)
Not really, no. It's one of those skis where realistically a huge range of skier weights would do great on it. Emily is very light, just over 100 lbs, but there's enough stability there to support someone even close to or over 200 lbs. Massive range.
Hi! What size ski did Emily demo, the 168 was what you were showing in the shop? How tall are you and what do you weigh? Did you try the 162 and 168? How did the 168 feel in steep tight woods with shaved moguls??? I'm 5'6"and 140lbs, I have the Rustler 10 in a 164, I LOVE that ski, perfect length. I am very excited about the 2024 Sheeva and Rustler 9, a little narrower, a little stiffer, and plan to ski this ski on the east coast. Personally bummed about the new size break. Is 162 too short??? Thank you!
I’ve loved my Sheeva 9’s for the last two seasons, skiing out west. Last season’s heavy snowfalls were great, but days with lots of heavy snow challenged my Sheeva 9’s a bit….would you reckon the new Sheeva 9’s would handle deep, heavy snow better? Or should I consider Sheeva 10 or 11? Thanks!
I'd go with the 10 or 11 but mainly if you have a narrower, second set of skis. The 10 can be a bit much for a daily driver, even though it excels in the softer snow. The new 9 at 96 mm underfoot is a more floaty and intriguing option for you, I think, and will be a great one-ski option.

We hope Emily stays with the company for years and years to come! Fingers crossed!
Great job, once again. Out of curiosity, are Emily's personal skis women-specific, or does someone of her ability typically ski men's/unisex skis?

Emily rips!!!!

Does Blizzard have a weight recommendation for the Sheeva 9?

Wow... Look how tall Jeff is
Hah! 5'10' looks a lot taller next to 5'3" than it does next to 6'2"

Emily's about 110 and skis pretty long skis in general. that 168 was right in her wheelhouse. Very maneuverable skis even in that length.
Extra width is an interesting move. Is an 8 coming at 90mm too....?
Santa Ana unlimited competitor vs the normal Santa Ana maybe too?
Ha! That was my first thought seeing these new 96 mm Rustler and Sheeva skis. Personally, I'd love to see an 8 in both models.
I was really hoping Emily was going to tell us her opinion of the skis. She's obviously a ripper who knows the shiit
This video is chock-full of Emily's opinions of this ski. Also check this one out:

Hi apart from the graphic and the full metal under sole is there any other difference between the Sheeva and Rustler? Thanks
Nope!
