What's wrong with the world, mama?
People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world's addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we tryna stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin'
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate, then you're bound to get irate, yeah
    Madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all
    People killin', people dyin'
    Children hurt, hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
Or would you turn the other cheek?
    Father, Father, Father, help us
    Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
    Where is the love (love)
Where is the love? (The love)
Where is the love? (The love)
Where is the love, the love, the love?
It just ain't the same, old ways have changed
New days are strange, is the world insane?
If love and peace are so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong?
    Nations droppin' bombs
Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
With ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young
So ask yourself, is the lovin' really gone?
So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong
In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin' in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother
A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover
The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love
    Where's the love, y'all, come on? (I don't know)
    Where's the truth, y'all, come on? (I don't know)
    Where's the love, y'all?
    People killin', people dyin'

Where is the love? (The love)
Where is the love? (The love)
Where is the love? (The love)
Where is the love, the love, the love?
I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema, yo'
Whatever happened to the values of humanity?
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality?
Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive 'til love is found
    Now ask yourself
    Where is the love?
    Where is the love?
    Where is the love?
    Where is the love?
    Father, Father, Father, help us
    Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
    Where is the love?
Sing with me y'all (one world, one world)
We only got (one world, one world)
That's all we got (one world, one world)
And something's wrong with it (yeah)
    Something's wrong with it (yeah)
Something's wrong with the wo-wo-world, yeah
We only got (one world, one world)

Barry's arc in the Injustice universe stems from how he's the kind of person who went along with Superman's regime because he believed that it was for the greater good. Superman's doing all of this crazy shit, but to Barry and even to Clark initially, it was out of wanting to better the world, regardless of what it took. Like you said, Barry's role in Superman's story in this universe was to be the angel on his shoulder, while Clark's guilt and Diana were the devils on the other shoulder. When Clark killed Billy, that was the breaking point where Barry no longer saw Superman's actions are justifiable. Unlike most Injustice characters, Barry's one of the few that has an actual coherent character arc that isn't undermined by any status quo (for this universe), and learning about the Australian boy in the Injustice comics only adds to Barry's character. He stood by Superman because he thought Superman was doing things for the better, but because of personal bias and a mix of guilt and shame, Barry didn't see the writing on the wall. Barry may have not been evil or malicious, but his complicitness in Superman and the League's actions speak louder than words can. I'm glad he's one of the few bright spots in this universe, because Injustice is pretty bleak otherwise.

Barry was the one person in the Regime I could forgive because he was the only one who saw something so horrific that he could no longer deny reality and turned sides. And he turned himself in to boot. He's the fastest man alive and could have avoided capture, but the content of his character was such that he couldn't bring himself to do it. He had to face justice, and he knew it.

My most favorite Flash moment in Injustice is the scene where Barry and Hal are sitting on top of some bridge, and Barry asks basically 'Are we the good guys?"
And the conversation basically ends with pointing out two questions. Did Superman kill (i think it was Alfred at the time), and if he did, as Hal puts it "Do you think you can stop him?(superman)"
And i think that really boils down just how many different angles there were throughout the entire series, but regardless of the angles, when the big question came up, it was either "Is superman wrong" or "Who can even stop him?"

    • @wanderingmercurymarauder761

There was a line from the injustice comic series that always stuck with me. It was during a conversation between Green Lantern and the flash. Hal Jordan is giving his thoughts on Superman's regime. Then near the end, Barry tells Hal "Unless your planning on doing something. You should probably stop asking yourself those questions". That one line from the series run always stood with me.

Though the injustice flash had a character arc and had to answer for the crimes he had committed with injustice superman while also attempting to redeem himself.
Remember that the main world flash is just chilling in the main universe while everyone else was fighting the regime, i wonder what his reaction was once superman was summoned to the injustice universe, was probably mad confused being in the watch tower alone while everyone is just gone.

"Shame isn't just something you get when you get post nut clarity..."
That caught me so off guard.
This is a great storyline, because it really highlights the whole "Good people are capable of evil even if they think they're not" and also, that just because someone does bad things doesn't make them a bad person. Considering the situation they're in is important, yes there are people who's morals never steer them right, but in this case, Barry did his time for what he did, he accepted the consequences of his actions, or more of his inactions, and he tries to atone for what he did. He's not a bad person, just a person in a bad situation, he didn't know what else to do and his moral compass was being seriously skewed.

Flash's journey in the injustice universe was pretty insane went from going along losing iris and most of the people, heroes and villains he knew trust and trying to be superman's emotional compass till he killed lex and Billy. After he had enough he defected from superman turned himself in. In injustice 2 he was pardon by batman but he struggled to gain the trust of the people and heroes again. He did thanks to the professor, Bruce and hal who went through hell to get his ring back and now barry has a friend who just like him are working hard to gain the people's trust after what they did.

I love how this comic runs all your favorites through the wringer. It’s what makes it so interesting.
Like, I cried twice during this run. Once during the issue with Barry dealing with his guilt over letting Superman kill Mitchell and then when Hal Jordan killed Guy Gardner.
Not in continuity? Don’t care. These were still the characters I love and it was heartbreaking to see their downfall.

Flash has the potential to be the most horrifying member of the JL is only the writers allowed he to use his powers.
In Injustice Flash could have been the peacekeeper at his own discretion and there would be nothing anyone could do about it.

Would love to see you analyse how Lego Games present adapted characters … given that they are often parodical versions that still go through the same arcs and emotional events . Would be rlly interesting !

One of the most frustrating things in life is to find yourself in everything you observe. For me I'm Barry in that I have ideals that differ so differently from those around me that I just stand there and do nothing to fix it. At the same time I'm the injured kid at the end except I don't have flash to help me. I don't have someone to convince me that moving forward is important. That there is a point in the effort itself.
