I’m always talking to my friends and family about Laura and Aaron. Like you are just down the street and my Best friends. That is awesome what you able to bring to us your garden family. I hope you feel the love. I’m sure I’m speaking for lots of us gardeners.
You guys do such a good job at showing in detail how to plant different types of plant, in this case trees. You've got such good camera angles, quality, you zoom in just in the right time etc. It makes it easy to follow along. I can honestly say that I've learned everything I know about planting stuff from your channel. Thank you!
I wish I can like this three times. Great comment. I'm in the same boat. She and Aaron are amazing. I find myself praying for their marriage and family as I feel so blessed by them ☺️
Good morning from Windermere, Florida zone 9b That's the cutest Pine tree 🌲 You can remember that you planted it the same year Samantha was born, 2021! Let's watch them both grow with love ❤
Cement is usually Portland Lime Cement and when mixed with sand, aggregate, and water acts as a binder and makes concrete. Cement is the glue in concrete, two very different things. Now you know. ;)
Agreed, your explanation is spot on. I was going to say cement is the element needed to make concrete but you’ve explained it much better than I would have. Thanks 😊
Loving those birch and seeing how this whole space is filling in. Thank you for the reminder that this will take several years to establish. AND can we just take a minute to admire that lush green lawn…get it Aaron 🌱🌱🌱
Re: the Blue Spruce and your comment “you can’t let stuff like that keep you from trying” 100% agree! I lost 5 well established rose bushes get Rose Rosette Disease this Spring and considering they were the main focal feature of our front yard, it was a huge/devastating/discouraging loss. I ended up planting sunflowers where they came out while I decide what to put as a more permanent feature, but I also went out and bought 9 new bare root roses that I’ll put elsewhere and enjoy!
@Monique Ruiz Ignorant (ie, untrained & not knowledgeable) commercial landscape maintenance companies have spread that disease quickly through all our town's knockout roses, and theyvare leaving the unhealthy plants standing. I feel like I am the only person who sees the problem and wants to educate! Anyway, I have about a dozen heirloom and antique roses in my garden and pray for their health. Now when I buy new roses, they are smaller (3×3ish) and in containers, and I know not to get too attached. If we have learned anything as gardeners, it's resiliency!
@@demesrvl6761 this is exactly what our situation was. The knockouts, although not my personal choice of rose, bloomed beautifully last year, then the HOA’s landscape company came by and unexpectedly pruned them early spring and it was shortly after that I started noticing their deterioration. It was unfortunate, but they did at least remove them for me, even though the HOA said it was my responsibility.
Cement is an ingredient of concrete. You use cement, water, sand, and gravel to make concrete. So you walk on a concrete sidewalk not a cement sidewalk. And the truck is a concrete mixer because it mixes all the ingredients to make concrete. :)
The Montana Moss Juniper would look great BEHIND the Arctic Fire Dogwoods- an evergreen backdrop makes the bright twigs really stand out in Winter. lol You're probably sorry you asked for other opinions by now, right? Thanks for bringing us along on your journey, Laura and Aaron!
I had to watch this video twice because I kept getting distracted because of that sea of green in the background!!! Look at that lawn!!! Just love it so much and the trees are so cute! 💚
This video really made me think of Laura as a Garden Artist. Her foresight on how tge cut flower garden looking through the birch trees, really gave us insight into her vision and expertise. Great job Laura!!
Rethink the Montana moss. It looks more like a conifer for winter time. Maybe a location between the pine that you just planted and the Blue Juniper. Would also be a nice place for a really huge rock, give it that "mountain feel"!
I really hope you are still doing this in 20 years or at least posting updates so we how everything matures. That must be so exciting to look forward to having all these beautiful plants be mature.
The Montana moss looks like creeping juniper. Very pretty like you said low but drifting blue tone. Can easily be combined with some beautiful red and yellow tones for huge impact.
I don’t even have to watch your video before I hit like because every video you post just makes me happy! You just exude kindness and happiness and it’s a great way to start my day!
Yessss Laura & Aaron get it in get it in baby!! How exciting it is to get more trees in. I am learning so much about trees by watching you guys populate this new space. Thanks so much!💚💯
YES! To the Montana Moss juniper. I JUST drove home from Montana last night - and the native junipers in the forest looked just like that one. You also solved the exact same question that I have been trying to figure out for my own red twig dogwoods. They are huge and beautiful, but I need some evergreen interest and this is perfect. Thanks so much for always showing us all the great options out there!
Your weeded lawn looks so good, wow. Saw the big mound of puncture vine in the next section and thought...Laura's gonna get you... You could almost hear the trees go "Oh yeah...big root stretch." Plant the juniper, you'll be glad you did in the winter. How are the baby quail doing? Thanks for sharing and just think of the smoke as air based plant food. Your new trees will be sucking the carbon right out of the air. .
Loved seeing that beautiful green grass! Can’t believe how fast it came up. Love all the trees you are getting in the ground. The more you plant now, the faster you’ll have your dream.
Am I the only one who adores the way Laura says "nursery?" She puts and -sh sound in there and it gets me every time. I'm sure it's a cultural thing, I'm from the Midwest. A silly thing but I just really enjoy watching and learning from her. Thank you for doing your videos Laura (and Aaron)!
You gave the perfect description of Birches, they do seem to talk to each other. I have never had to prune mine and they are planted really close together.
You make me smile, of course we don't mine seeing you plant stuff! That's what we come for. I'm really enjoying watching how the space is evolving and turning into a garden!
Beautiful trees! I love it! I purchased two autumn blaze maple trees, last week.I came home, and planted them right away. My husband, teased me, saying, "Laura, would be proud". I just laughed, and kept right on planting. My gardens have never looked better. Thanks for all of your inspiration.
I feel so much better seeing that the 1/2 in poly line is a beast for you too. I was running mine and I will say getting the little adapters in was a HUGE pain for me, even my husband struggled. I was telling him Laura makes this look so easy.
I boil up some water and carry it around in a thermos and dip the free end in the hot water to make it more malleable. It’s not foolproof because the angles don’t always work but it can help to speed up the general process.
Aaron.. try putting a tarp on the ground with a hole in the middle where you are augering? It will catch the soil for easy putting back around the root ball. With a split in it, easy removal after tree is planted. You’re welcome.
NOT sure who found anything to dislike about this video, but I sure liked it. And the birch trees look incredible, I am imagining them in just a few years and I agree with you that together or clumped together is just right!. Well done Laura.
Everything is coming along so nicely!! I look forward to your videos every morning!! The grass looks amazing in the background!! I love watching your dreams come true! Thank you for sharing.
My husband uses the terms "cement" and " concrete" as the same thing. I know that cement is the glue that binds, thank you, Uncle Paul! I realize, watching you that I learned a whole heap from my extended family as a child. I thank them a lot! Thank you two for reminding me of that fact. The Birches I like, until 2 years ago I had a clump of 3 in my front yard. We have something here that infects them and then you have stumps. Sigh... As for the evergreen, I wouldn't want it in my yard, but that's your space so do what pleases you. Thanks for sharing so much with us, it is appreciated more than you can know.
One of my favorite parts of the video was when you were doing the drip tube and the music was playing and I saw your hands trying to put in those blue couplers... you were struggling.... then it immediately switched and it was Aaron’s hands doing it. I saw that several times. Not sure why that spoke to my heart so.. but it did. What a great husband and ... I’m sure.. best friend. I guess I can relate to the struggle sometimes (as a woman) when things are so physically difficult. I end up feeling so sorry for myself because I feel so inadequate. You are so blessed to have each other. ❤️
Hurray!!! More trees!!! 🌳🌳🍃🍂🍁 So much loveliness!!! You have accomplished so much incredibleness this year. Truly transformational. Ooo could we see more of that beautiful spot on the left when Aaron headed over to help with the auger? The Montana moss is a great idea.
Such a comforting and entertaining video as usual! This channel has helped me appreciate gardens so much! We used to have one in my parents' house, but they had it cemented over when I was around 8 or 9. Now I wish I had a garden or grew up with a garden 😂. But for now I'll to stick to making my little balcony as gardeny as I could.
I just love all of this, I am so excited to see a drone shot of all the things that you and Aaron have planted.. it is an amazing space! Laura it is not a mess!!! 🤣🤗🌿🌻
I just have to say something: I Love that U don't ask everyone to Subscribe, So ANNOYING to me when you tubers do that On every video, Just goes to show How many people Love and Adore your channel❣❣❣❣
Thank you for reminding us of the importance of getting foundational pieces (trees) in place. I can go so bonkers for all the colorful flowers that I forget to apply any structure and weight as my backdrop/anchor.
Can one ever have enough birch trees? I hope you plant even more! My vote on the little juniper is yes. Another plant one can never have too many of, IMO. ~ Lisa
What a wonderful forest landscape you’re bringing to the high desert I can Just Imagine what a wonderful place for your family live and grow and make something beautiful Never stop what you’re doing 🌲🌲🌲 How awesome it will be in the years to come Your bringing happiness every day 🙋🏼♀️👍🏻🤗💕
I can see a flowerbed behind you and I don't remember seeing it up close. I'd love a tour of everything, no matter how long the video gets. I love watching you plant things and seeing how it's all turning out. Thank you for including us! I love the new trees, especially the birches. I think the evergreen would look really good there especially with the Yellow Twig Dogwood behind it. I don' t find evergreens that exciting because people usually let them take over and they become a huge hulk in the landscape. Whatever you decide it will be beautiful.
I could watch live cam. It’s so relaxing watching someone plant, prune and even weed. I don’t have a garden or even know how to garden but I love watching Laura and Aaron plant.
I love the way the new area is filling in with trees & plants! Love both Pine & Birch trees! I love the Montana Moss & I think it will look good in that area! 🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲🌳❤💚🤍🌿
I wish every time you guys planted something in the new front garden, you could show that sketch Laura did earlier. So we can have a better notion as to where the things you are planting are. Even if the paths and other structures didn’t end up in the same spot as the sketch. 🗺 And how about that name for the space: new front garden and cut flower garden. 🌈
What a Lovely duo😊💕💕💕watching your video everyday makes my day👍💕to think don't have a garden, only pots in my veranda..thank you always for bringing happiness to everyone😊👍
Hi Laura just wanna say I've been watching you for couple of weeks now and i live in a tropical country and its starting to rain here so I've been inspired to plant more around the house! Love you guys💕
for Aaron (from hubby): concrete just means something hard (basically).. you can have asphalt 'concrete' as well as what we typically call concrete... cement is a component of what they use to make what we typically call concrete, like a ready-mix type (like in sidewalks, etc) - hope that helps!... wow! love those trees, and that pine is adorable (if a little tree can be adorable) 🙂 that space is shaping up so fast, i LOVE it... i see visions of Benjamin and Samantha Grace out there running free and playing so hard... and speaking of running and playing: oh my word!!! LOOK AT THAT GRASS!!! holy cow! what a gorgeous patch of green behind you!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ i like that little evergreen there, too... 🙂 i'm imagining it covered with some snow in the winter, how pretty is that going to be! and what a nice little hidey-hole for nature... you have such a great eye for what to plant where... hope your smoke clears up, i hear you had rain not too far from you over in idaho, hope you got some of that! 🙂 ❤ thanks for the video!! 🙂 ❤
Cement is the wet mixture that dries and becomes concrete. I was married to a cement mixer drive. lol. Still married, he just doesn't do that any longer. Love your videos! They are so inspiring.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge via videos... my husband heard your voice and said " what's Laura up to today ?" (Like we are best friends 😁) I said you guys were planting more trees .Then he said "we need more trees " . Lol. Thank goodness we all have a passion for plants 🌳🌲🌺🌻🌼🍁🌹🌸🍂🍃
You are right the Montana Moss would look great where yo plan to plant it! The attention you have for the direction of the wind's influence on the growth of this plant is important for it's placement. I'm up at 5 am because we got a puppy and I enjoy watching you while supervising her.
I love when you two work together, it's so nice! Check the trunk of your baby pine you just planted, it didn't look straight unless it was the angle of the camera.
So many new amazing plants going in out there, I just love it!! And I like the placement of the Montana Moss. When will we get to see an updated aerial view from the drone?
GOODMORNING from Rainy south Eastern OHIO, I just wish I had planted more (everything) so mother Nature would be watering them in Very Well, thanks to tropical storm Fred....Love ALL of Your Inspirational Ideas and Useful Information about Everything you do.
Boy this area is sure looking awesome! On a side note the first time I saw a sped up video and saw 2 Laura's I thought "Oh she is a twin! No wonder she has so much energy!" Ya I know. I had a good laugh at myself 😅 Its good to have a good laugh at yourself or life becomes way to serious!!

Well said, Marilyn! That's exactly how I feel, too.
We do that too! They ARE part of our loved ones for sure ❤
Couldn’t agree more! My husband has even started saying, “well what does Laura think?” When we’re talking plants to add to my garden.
Whenever I share a garden tip with my husband he goes “did you learn that from your girl?” (meaning Laura lol)
Lucky!!! Maybe you Laura neighbors lol will do videos on your gardens!!!!
Okay I'm ready for a drone view of the area now. This new area is really filling in so nicely!!
Ditto, Nindy.
Sounds about right
yes, please drone on . . .
Yes, please!
They haven’t shown us the area by the car park area either. Looks to be filled with penesetum and some pink annuals.

for Aaron (from hubby): concrete just means something hard (basically).. you can have asphalt 'concrete' as well as what we typically call concrete... cement is a component of what they use to make what we typically call concrete, like a ready-mix type (like in sidewalks, etc) - hope that helps!... wow! love those trees, and that pine is adorable (if a little tree can be adorable) 🙂 that space is shaping up so fast, i LOVE it... i see visions of Benjamin and Samantha Grace out there running free and playing so hard... and speaking of running and playing: oh my word!!! 🙂 ❤
Good morning! Everything you place in the landscape always adds to the beauty of your property. I love your videos and have learned so much.
Cement is the wet mixture that dries and becomes concrete. I was married to a cement mixer drive. lol. Still married, he just doesn't do that any longer. Love your videos! They are so inspiring.
Wasn't sure about the Montana Moss until I googled it and saw some mature plants. It's gorgeous, and that's a great spot for it!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge via videos... my husband heard your voice and said " what's Laura up to today ?" (Like we are best friends 😁)
I said you guys were planting more trees .Then he said "we need more trees " .
I agree the prostrate shrub would be a lovely match in front of the yellow dogwood, love the cute little pine x
