guydude here (not a copy) - great video! but heed my warning young toby... the trials and tribulations only intensify... should you dare to.. draw cartoons.
I lost a whole video one time because some how I hit the delete button even though my clicker was on the other side of the screen! Now I guess no one will know the true purpose of a rock
Everyone can be a storytime animator and become famous, the problem is that once time goes, more and more poeple learn new things and many of them decide to do something new, and thats actually a good because it gives the person another thing to do that they like doing. So always try new things along the way
This video gave me a REAL CONFIDENCE BOOST with you mentioning all these difficult things about being a UA-cam animator and making me say to myself “oh ok I’m not the only one I’m ok”
My god, this is so relatable. No one understands how difficult it is when it comes to being an animator when your also struggling with the problems of life at the same time. Its both overwhelming and infuriating, and thats why i rarely post any videos at all :'))
I’m so glad I found your channel, 🙏 🙏👑👑🙏 it’s so relieving to hear other animators share the same struggles I do hahahah. I’ve just started making more of them in the last month, and MAAAN, the time it takes is crazy, they’re deceptively simple looking. My latest Pokémon animation took 58 hours to create, and that’s not even including the thumbnail………. It’s such a time sink, but it’s also super rewarding to see it all come together so it’s worth it in the end. Also, I am yet to lose any work to crashes. I hope…. That doesn’t change…… I would probably cry 😢😭
This was way more relatable than it needed to be I lost a whole video because I forgot to click save before turning off my computer. The pains of being an animator 😔
An underrated animator with this great of a style and nice animation production, you deserve more attention. This video is great and accurate when it comes of being a youtuber animator.
I’m learning and posting as I go on with my other account. I’m super inspired by Meatcanyon. My hardest thing is getting my cartoons to where others can see them. Super humbled by how far I’ve come though!
i just came across this video on my homepage, you’re a very skilled animator and i’d like to become a story time animator someday. thank you for inspiring me:D
Remember that you don't need a ton of equipment, I've been animating with just my phone and finger/stylus, free versions of flip a clip, capcut, and ibis paint and no extra mic for years and I made an animation channel too. Don't think you need a bunch of special programs and stuff.
Dude, i feel you on all of the listed cons (except for the losing progress one thankfully. Hasn't happened yet 😅) but yeah, the TIME consumption one definitely resonates with me. That's the one that I struggle with most. I work out 5 days a week which is already time consuming, and my family is always in a "RUSH WE NEED TO GO SHOPPING" kind of state in the morning. And then in the weekends we... Still have to hurry in the mornings 😭 we're out for like 3 hours, then we come back, eat dinner, I walk for 30 minutes, then we have to watch something with the family, then we have to play tabletop games, then it's already about 9-10pm by then. I wish I had a 48 hour day 😭
Doing stop motion is probably as if not more time-consuming then 2d animation because you have to draw your characters that you’re done you can just move their parts and that’s pretty easy. I mean I’ve done it before. It’s pretty easy but most you do have to move the characters. It’s pretty easy though, but you have to do it by frame frame. If you’re not anything else we’re gonna have to restart the entire process all over again for the entire seat. It just gets very frustrating. Anyway love your videos.
Cant wait to see your channel hit 1m subs! (thats my prediction anyways) Im totally thinking of becoming a youtube animator but i have no clue how to use abode animate and flipaclip takes way longer to animate for me.
Hi Toby! I watch alot of your videos and it's awesome to see that you can animate so well at such a young age. May I ask what tools you need to be an animator? Christmas is coming around and I'd like to start my animation journey.
0:00 - 1:34 As an animator, I can relate. 2:26 True. 2:36 Yup. I’m one of those “solo” animators. I’m trying to exercise not having to compare myself to a whole team… 4:29 Okay. Don’t look at the downside.
boy oh BOY does the time consumption hurt me in my soul. Trying to balance animating while also doing school all day everyday already limits the time I can spend, and then I'm too particular about my own work, so I hyper fixate on EVERYTHING
I lost the entirety of one of my Greg the groundhog videos which is only one minute long but that's still the whole video and I figured it out because they were accidentally named the same add some other projects I did
You dont actually have to pay anything for animation sometimes! I use flipaclip and a crappy tablet that i didnt buy and so far im doing good! Im fine with what ive got rn, but i think i need an upgrade soon
AHHAHAHSHHHHHHHHHH Tell me about losing saved animation files ARHGGGGGhahahaha its fun :> Also nice video tobes the topics for the technicly difficult side of animation is a really nice proccess to shed light on!
Hey, my 10 year old cousin is thinking about starting an animation youtube channel, prob when he's around 13. He has started to learn how to animate, and it's progressing. This vid has some good advice, thanks buddy :3
Losing your work due to either a bug or FILES CORRUPTING ehm, Adobe animate, but good video Toby! I totally agreed with some of the stuff shown in here
Frame after frame animation can cramp your fingers so do 30 frames then take a break.or maybe you could just do 20 frames.I know it’s hard but I’m not a drawing animator I’m a stick nodes animator
One thing i struggle with is my channel seems too random. Like- i wanna make these educational planet videos but my channel doesnt pop up on people ForYou pages because of my random content. I dont want to delete those videos bc its like under 200 videos i’d have to private
3d animation is more accessible if you have a decent pc (mine is not even that good but still works) or at least you don't need necessarily a drawing tablet and you can just use blender(awesome free 3d everything software). The con is that it's a bit more technical and blender isn't that easy to learn... but I did it so you probably can too

shiver me timbers 😬
so spoopy 😰
@@TobyAnimates “shiver me timbers” 😭
real
I have no words…
Losing progress in an animation is like losing a dog, you have to buy another one but it just wasn't the same as the original 💀💀😭😭
hate it when that happens :(
Scary how accurate this is 😭
Bruh why is this so true tho?
since i’ve started animating my posture has gotten 100x worse
Real
yes
we actually get that unfortunate shrimp form
Lets have a moment of silence for the people who have lost 11 Minutes of animation.
I swear if that happens to me I will lose it
I’ve lost more lol
I lost a whole video one time because some how I hit the delete button even though my clicker was on the other side of the screen! Now I guess no one will know the true purpose of a rock
That's why I spam ctrl+s after doing the most minimal change
I’ve lost a thirty minute video
Everyone can be a storytime animator and become famous, the problem is that once time goes, more and more poeple learn new things and many of them decide to do something new, and thats actually a good because it gives the person another thing to do that they like doing. This video gave me a REAL CONFIDENCE BOOST with you mentioning all these difficult things about being a UA-cam animator and making me say to myself “oh ok I’m not the only one I’m ok”
True
Once you drop your first video, thats it, you officially signed your life away to be an animator
Ur not kidding I'm now a story animator
True
HOLY COW this channel IS SO FREAKING UNDERRATED SO GOOD I LOVE IT I'm glad to see another kid animator and you're my inspo-ration! Ty!!!!
You deserve more views on your videos because animation takes so much work dude. Love your work!
every wild animator resides in a luxurious dark cave!!
😎👍
not only making the animation is hell, BUT THE SOFTWARES CAN BE HELL TO SOMETIMES
I WAS DONE WITH HALF OF MY VIDEO AND THEN MY TABLET BROKE 😭😭
Yep. Especially when trying to draw lines with the Brush tool on Adobe Animate.
My god, this is so relatable. No one understands how difficult it is when it comes to being an animator when your also struggling with the problems of life at the same time. Its both overwhelming and infuriating, and thats why i rarely post any videos at all :'))

Animation is pure pain, but when you finish you feel proud of yourself which is what makes it worth it!
HE’S BACKKKKK!! BANGER VID AS ALWAYS 🔥🔥🔥
Dude, i remember i saw one of your videos a while ago
it's genuinely awesome how far your channel has grown!!
Loving the art and animation style👏👏👏
Man this is refreshing, finally someone else that understands all of these. Especially the first one, I spent 200+ hours on my last animation 😂
Great video! I face the cons in your video as well, great animation!
This was way more relatable than it needed to be
I lost a whole video because I forgot to click save before turning off my computer. The pains of being an animator 😔
😢
Oh wow… that’s relatable!
But yeah, I am an animator
And it is hard trust me, frame and frame and frame! But trust me, you’re doing great as heaven!
This is a great video Toby! This is probably your most relatable video yet!

This is Great Video Toby last video was 3 months ago And Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 on 10K Subs Toby
This is incredibly accurate. I spend way too much time at my desk after work.

Your animations are so clean
The tutorial that he posted was the real reason why I even made my UA-cam channel on the first place. Thanks man appreciate it.

U know its good when toby uploads

In my opinion you are the best Animated And you really Make me want to do animation to And I really hope you make more videos
I am so lazy to animate, that i feel bad for my fans. im trying my hardest to not be lazy, but its taking over
Bro this video's so awesome:3
have a sub bro.
I lost the entirety of one of my Greg the groundhog videos which is only one minute long but that's still the whole video and I figured it out because they were accidentally named the same add some other projects I did
Yay Toby's back!
4:32 "i did it and look where i am" while living in a box hits home for all beginning animation channel
You dont actually have to pay anything for animation sometimes! I use flipaclip and a crappy tablet that i didnt buy and so far im doing good! Im fine with what ive got rn, but i think i need an upgrade soon
As a person who only makes 2 minute vids losing half a video is still very sad
I have so many animations that I just ended up scraping or quitting because I don't like the idea/ don't have the attention span for it 😭
I’m in the car and want to watch it so bad but u kinda have to treat a Toby vid like a movie. I’ve got my popcorn ready 😈
What's the name of the song you chose for the end card?
This is pretty relatable
as a fellow (though not as well known) animator i completely relate to the intro
I like how they try to be quiet around toby at the beginning 😂
Ahh yes Animating for 2 month's for a 4 sec clip, truely animation is beautiful
this is totally one of the most sane UA-cam animators
its true its not easy when you have a little brother and the worst tantrum while just waiting for the perfect quiet time to go to my room and record
ever since i started animating my sleep schedule has been FUCKED
crazy
Mmm taking notes
AHHAHAHSHHHHHHHHHH Tell me about losing saved animation files ARHGGGGGhahahaha its fun :>
Also nice video tobes the topics for the technicly difficult side of animation is a really nice proccess to shed light on!

Losing your work due to either a bug or FILES CORRUPTING ehm, Adobe animate, but good video Toby! I totally agreed with some of the stuff shown in here
hunny wake up, i found a new fav youtube channal
My main problem is when I write my scripts I don't know how long the actual video would be and then it ends up being 2 minutes
real
I just yap without a script while walking around my room, it works for me.
@Tooons_Animatics yeah but sometimes I studder
I can't even imagine loosing 3 minutes of work let alone 11.
Bro im only a new Animator but i agree on this it's not that easy to animate
0:38 man this guy is soo cool i wish i could be an animator like him
Mans deserves so much more views 🔥🚒🚒🔥
Even for a new animator myself, that true
1:01 I thought the same when I was younger until I started animating
The intro is honestly terrifying
most relatable part is the thumbnails for some odd reason

The King Of The Community Has Posted Again!
I love your content ,I'm just working on my first animation video.
Personally my biggest con is scrubbing through the audio timeline over and over again…
My own voice gets annoying over time😭
3d animation is more accessible if you have a decent pc (mine is not even that good but still works) or at least you don't need necessarily a drawing tablet and you can just use blender(awesome free 3d everything software).
The con is that it's a bit more technical and blender isn't that easy to learn... but I did it so you probably can too

never watched a more relatable video
