    Great review! I have a couple questions:
    1. Do you use the Wacom stand, or an Ergo arm with the tablet and how do you like using it? I have the 22HD since 2013, and one thing that keeps me from upgrading is having to buy a separate stand, that may not lay the tablet down flat.
    2. Do you find the Express Key Remote awkward to use as compared to built in buttons on older Cintiq models?

    i believe wacom has released a stand recently so that's pretty good
    but i have a question does it come with the mentioned accesories or did you buy them separately?

    No point in buying the touch version, it shutters when you move around and there isn't the option to turn off single touch so things like your palm or even a few dust can flicker the mouse to go apeshit. Wacom needs to fix their shit because I end up turning the whole touch off all together.
    If anyone wants to draw and use touch to zoom in and out and such, I suggest buying a Surface Book.

      They gave him the device, but said nothing what is he meant to say probably. Unlike him, I don't agree that it's worth as much as they charge. It's definitely overpriced, but it being the best 24" display tablet is a fact, so him saying that probably isn't paid for.

    Thanks for the review! Your art is freaking awesome and I’m excited for my touch model to come in. Question, have you thought about making a wood stand/buying a tabletop style easel to hold the cintiq Pro 24? I prefer to work with a pretty steep angle as to not have to hunch over while I work, and was wondering about not buying the 400 dollar stand.

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 років тому +4

      Thanks, man, and thanks for the compliments! I have definitely thought about making my own stand. I might do just that. I thought about constructing something out of black PVC pipe as well. If I come up with something that works, I'll post a plan of it here.

    You've convinced me to order one today! I used to rock the older Cintiq 24HD and as much as I loved it -- for 10 years -- the colors and contrast were still off. I am looking forward to the color calibration, brightness, and contrast of the new Pro 24. I just wish it also came with the Wacom stand like the older Cintiq 24HD. Thanks for sharing this review! Awesome artwork and you chose the right art for the UA-cam video cover art! It was eye catchy in colors and design!

    first you are a talent....love your work. Second, thanks for the review as it was brilliant. Loved what you covered as you covered off all the questions I had about it. Stoked you are happy with it as its always hard pulling the trigger on a purchase like that as the fear of it not living up to expectations is a worry. Keep up the good work!!

    So it should pay off pretty quickly when working in the industry. My last tablet is getting a little old now and this is the logical next step. Commissions have always paid for it anyway in pretty short time. Great review and I think the arm is also worth the extra cost.

      They really need to make a smaller pro pen two. I hate how fat the pen is and I'm not sure why they think that's a good thing. Update the pen size and it's golden. I know it's just nitpicking, but it makes a difference for some people. No vesa is a huge disappointment.

    Hi, I had a Second hand Wacom Cintiq 24HD for 3 years, now its bricked and I cant afford to fix/replace it. Looking to XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro or Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 to replace it.
    Looking for honest dirt and grit experienced opinions.
    I've watched plenty of video reviews on UA-cam and Amazon reviews but some feel sponsored or old reviews.
    I would love to hear all the positives and negatives you've encountered
    Thank You.

    I just got this in the Christmas sale, it’s still expensive but I just went through 2 huion pen displays in 2 years because of the same fault, and I could only return the second one because it happened after a month. if this display lasts twice as long it’ll work out the same cost, but I’m hoping it’ll last until I want to upgrade rather than when I have to replace it.

    Hi!
    I am looking into some reviews about the 24 inch and 32 inch, I currently have 13 inch, but I feel like the size of the screen is giving me eyestrain. I have a PC monitor that is 27inch and I have no such issue, I wanted to ask if 24 inch is giving you any eyestrain? I usually get eyestrain after 1 hour of work, my vision is fine and I don't wear any glasses, but this cintiq I have is really hindering me in my work.

    Don't need a stand, get an Ergotron Arm. They are the best stand you can get. The best part is, when you are done drawing, you put it to the side or next to your other monitor. They have a tension screw that will tighten to hold the weight of that monitor. I have the Wacom 27qhd and it holds it no problem. *Edit* Holy crap.... they took the Vesa mount off and you have to buy it separately now? That sucks.... What a terrible decision.

    Same problem with the keyboard issue.....different height between your shoulder, very bad for body structure, cannot put keyboard and tablet at same height....best will be to have keyboard on the right or left in vertical position. but this is the same problem as all Wacom Cintiq product, ok for 2 hours but more you get all your body tired.

    Is no witchcraft for a pen to not have batteries or anything like that. If I remember I had before a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with a stylus pen without any battery and it was a really small pen. Apple came with a rechargeable pen in the first place because they couldn’t copy Samsung. Cintiq made it better then anyone else because they made a lot of research.

    @Brian Allen, why did you go with the 24" and not the 32"? Do you think, if you had the 32",you'd like it better? I just pulled the trigger on this 24" model with touch, used on eBay. Wacom is the seller, so they have guaranteed that it is in good working order. I also went onto Amazon and purchased the stand and the remote as it doesn't come with the used Cintiq. All three items should arrive this week.

    Best review of this device I have seen yet - thanks. How does the screen hold up to the "abuse" of the pen? Does it get scratched and what do you think about using a screen protector?
    I've tested out the cintiq 16 (not pro). It's a fine tool but somehow I don´t feel a home using that device and I could definitely see the advantage of 4k, less parallax and more accurate colors. Also the cintiq 16 has matte screen that dims the colors somewhat and also makes the image a little blurry compared to a normal monitor.

    - Cintiq Pro 13 = 1.1kg
    - Cintiq Pro 16 = 1.5kg
    Me:
    1.1 / 13.3 * 24 = 1.985kg
    1.5 / 15.6 * 24 = 2.308kg
    "... Maybe the 24" will be ~3.488kg, and just barely fit into carry-on luggage for traveling freelance artists!" :O

    Hi Brian! How did you bought it, it is always out of stock here in Europe?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns

      I bought it from an authorized dealer in New York called Adorama. But unfortunately, they are now sold out too! Leave it to me to make a review for a product no one can buy, haha

    Thank you for such a great review. May I ask what desk you are using? I'm looking for a good standup desk, and yours looks pretty solid!

      I think more people are interested in my desk than the Wacom, haha. I should definitely do a review on it, because it's a great product. It's the Autonomous Smart Desk

    My only gripe is No Vesa mount! I'm really upset about that. Cause some of us prefer using a Egrotron are as opposed to the stand which isn't even available yet. I get the impression Wacom, wants to make you by the stand, right (rhetorical)!
    Also wish they used a 3:2 aspect ratio. That's the one area where the Surface Studio shines (including 1 inch, truly equals 1 inch - very smart)). Don't get me wrong, the Cintiq Pro is a far superior drawing device but, there is room for improvement.

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 років тому +1

      Yes, totally agree! The omission of a VESA mount was obviously intended to force you to buy directly from Wacom. I really wish it had that option. That's an interesting opinion about the aspect ratio - I hadn't given that any thought.

    • @johnkon2810
      @johnkon2810 6 років тому +1

      Brian Allen ... I had the opportunity to use a Surface Studio for 2 weeks. Since I work with both traditional art media & digital, I was pleasantly surprised to find that a 3:2 ratio & the fact that a inch on the monitor, equals a inch on paper, is so, so, useful. 3:2 is also much better when drawing & painting in portrait mode; or you have multiple documents open, & you want to compare side by side. Landscape was just as comfortable. I also found that 3:2 aspect also offers far more screen real estate.
      I definitely missed that aspect ratio, when I went back to my Cintiq full time.
      Thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts & opinions

    Great review. I didn't read everyone's questions or comments, so I don't know if anyone asked this question regarding the stand. Will the old stand that came with older cintiq work with the new cintiq pro?

    I got some questions,
    1: my MAIN question is, can you lean on it and still draw using the pen and you leaning on won't effect the pen being tracked? cause I lean over when I draw to make sure I draw good.
    2: can it be link to a PC so you can use the art programs from it and also to Livestream using it?

    How is it to connect for a pc? Since my GFX card does not have USB-C, it just supports displayport...
    Does it come with everything you need to connect it with in that case?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 років тому

      Yes, I mention this in the review - it comes with tons of cords for pretty much every possible connection type. Mine is not connected with USB-C, it's connected with a thunderbolt display port

    The newest Wacom products seem to be eating up nibs at an alarming rate, like one a day for some people, does the Cintiq Pro 24 have this issue too? Or is the wear on the nib similar to previous cintiq models?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 років тому

      I've heard this from a couple people, but I don't have that experience. I've had this since April, and I've only replaced the nib once. And I use it CONSTANTLY. Eight hours a day, 6 days a week, drawing and inking intensely.

    What is the difference between the Cintiq Pro, 24 and Cintiq Pro, 24 touch? Is the more expensive one worth it?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 років тому

      The Cintiq Pro 24" Touch is not out yet as far as I know. The only difference is that it has touch input, which I'm not really a fan of, so I didn't need it. If you are talking about the older Cintiq 24" touch, or the Cintiq 27QHD touch, the differences are mostly in the increased resolution, screen brightness, color accuracy, increased pressure sensitivity and reduced parallax.

    the reviews keep talking about dead pixels and how they need to return their products over and over and how the quality is lacking in these new devices.
    Have you ever encountered these problems?
    btw did you get to output the maximum resolution? having an older laptop i wonder if its worth the trouble or i could get for example an older qhd one
    now that they are cheaper too
