I think that should be okay and dont see why it would reflect poorly. Most programs understand the limitations of virtual interviews, and if theyre asked nicely and if it is logistically and administratively possible to visit, they should have no issues with it.
Salam Omar, i just did some rotations in the states recently and my pereceptors were happy to write LORs for the match but i have a concern as i have to do a one year of internship after graduation to get my liscnse so i will end up applying to match 2026 not match 2025. Do you recommend buy a token next year make an eras number and ask my attendings to upload the letters then ask them the following year if they can update the letters date or just ask them to upload the letters when I actually apply. I wish i could do my electives near to the time of applying to the match but unfortunately interns are no longer consider "students" to be eligible for hands on / subIs experiences and i prefered to do subIs instead of observerships later. What are you gonna do if you were in my position?
I think it's a good decision to do subi instead of observership. I think people approach this in either way as you described, either buying a token this year and having them upload the letters or having them upload the letters next year. I think either way works, the advantage of buying a token having them uploaded is that you will enter the right the letter up and upload it to ERAS versus you reaching out to them next year following up on your letter and they may or may not be able to respond.
@@drbaqal will having a one year old eras hurts? Interm theyight think i applied to the match and did not match or the letter is 1 year old if thr attending could not update the date?
@@mohammadmansour4482 in my perception what matters more than the date of the letter is the date of the experience. If you did a USCE a year ago and even if you get an updated letter with a more recent date, the USC still happened a year ago which is what is the more important factor
