This budget bestie really hit home for me. Although I am single, I make a smaller income and it can be overwhelming thinking about how to budget and save etc. but this video really helped me to see how small edits can help to make a difference ( like cutting out subscriptions until certain things like debt or savings are taken care of). Another wonderful budget bestie!! ❤️ xx Kira!

Oh blimey, I really hope this family can look into what help they can get hopefully some universal credit, child benefit etc.
Some hard decisions need to be made if not to stop the bleeding 💖
They also mention car insurance but it isn’t in this budget? I am worried for them x

Another budget bestie reality check. I agree with your suggestions. I think their priorities need to be set and then follow the plan you provide accordingly.

Not sure where they are but if they’re in the U.K. you absolutely need to go to CAB and get that child maintenance reduced. - £200 is very high for such a low income bracket as I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to go off percentages.
I’d also say, paying into multiple pensions probably isn’t great; and having one extra each is probably more than enough until you’re into a safer place.
Repayments on a 5k loans are £150 so I’d assume on £15k they’d be much much higher probably looking about £300+ per month.
Cutting pocket money might be a good idea; or even talking to stepsons other parent about what would be best going forward; and see if the CMA can include pocket money as well. (This is what one of my siblings parents did) and it made things a lot financially easier for everyone.
Realistically though, you’d probably qualify for some help with Rent; if you’re in the U.K. + again would advise going to cab.
They could help you with a debt management plan including getting things reduced to an affordable repayment etc.
Please budget bestie, seek help. You can’t continue as you are ❤

There is so much gently used baby stuff! Babies grow out of things quickly. Get everything secondhand if at all possible. 💜

Get rid of these subscriptions. Prime or Spotify needs to go. I know they said its non negotiable... Bestie, you're in debt. A couple of months of extra money will make the world of difference. Google Drive or cloud have to go because theyre so similar. Klarna is also a vicious cycle so think this should go first.
Then the friends vet bill. Because all this nice car, subscriptions etc going out. While owing a friend money can build resentment.
Also Ireland is ripping us off if £200 is high for a car payment.
Anyway. After this. Start tackling the large loan.
And of course emergency fund. Great advice as always 😈

Xcelerate looks to be a gym membership so I would look into either a cheaper gym or even better find free fitness videos on UA-cam and cancel that membership. 😈

Curve card is not like monzo at all. It's not a bank account either. It's a card that you can add various other cards to, like credit cards, debit cards and charge cards. The cards are linked to the curve card so you use the curve card to pay from your other cards. Say if somewhere doesn't take american express or mastercard or visa. You use the curve card and then select which card account you want to use. You could use it to pay where credit cards are not accepted. Although you don't get the section 75 protection because you are apyong via a third party.

I dont think it’s fair to say they’re not using Amazon. I know for a lot of people buying baby stuff is significantly cheaper on Amazon than any store so it’s possible they’re buying nappies and other baby necessities there. Doesn’t mean they need Amazon prime necessarily though

😈Make a shopping list for the month including items for the baby nappies, wet wipes, etc
Then depending where you live, see where there are any offers on the items of food or baby items that you use. This can save you money. Also companies like Pampers etc. Do give away nappies and wipes via a coupon. Look up online and see what coupons there is. And what shop takes them?
As said in the video get rid of subscriptions you don't need. I have done this and it has saved me a lot of money.
Also babies grow out of clothes. Very fast look in charity shops, mums selling sites etc You may find some great bargains and also save yourself money
I hope all the advice given from everybody helps you.

You did a good job for this budget based on the information you had. The bottom line is they need more income to really get the budget in order.
Maybe they can get a lower rate on rent based on their current income. That would be helpful. Also, I have a feeling the 15K loan minimum payment is more than we think.
    Good luck to the couple!

I’d say so, I had a 5k loan from the bank and the monthly repay on that was £151 a month. So I can’t imagine what 15k would look like.

Bestie’s Partner probably does earn more than that .... but .... stepson? there’ll be child maintenance to an ex-partner taken out of earnings first so I’m presuming the Bestie is declaring what they have, rather than income prior to deductions.
(Oh, and Prime is now not much short of £10 a month!)

I love a good budget bestie. I’m with you the definitely need to cut the subscriptions and repay their friend who paid the vet bill. It’s hard with a small income but it can be done. 😈

Another budget bestie I agree with. So many subs when they just aren’t affordable. Not the best idea for the bestie. Hopefully they take your advice into account.
I’d maybe change Spotify premium for prime - if they want to use prime - that would save 13 there.
I’d try with getting more money in earnings, it of course we don’t know the reason why they don’t get more.
