    Man.. I haven’t really drawn anything other than a quick sketch in a while (Ive been studying sorta advanced animation for around 2 weeks straight) and seeing this video has sparked “some” desire to draw something unique, and also I’m quite surprised people don’t know about the fact that the more confident you are with your strokes the cleaner it looks.
    Also damn!! Clip studio paint looks like an absolute god send. Not only is it good for illustrations, it’s also a really good animation program (I’m literally handicapped because procreates (not dream) animation feature just sucks..

    selection pen, and select overlapping vectors are powerful tools. for example lets say you want to readjust bangs of hair, or grab specific vectors that you want to readjust without redrawing them, or quickly build depth of objects by copy+paste the selected vectors and vector erase the excess.

    Just a nerdy comment but, the darker lines where things intersect is referred to as "ambient occlusion". :D
    Only just started learning to draw and mostly worked with pen and paper. Recently tried digital and it feels like 10 steps back!
    I've been doing similar exercises to try and just draw a circle, and will incorporate the other ones into my routine, the flower one looks hard.
    Also the vector features of clip studio look kind of insane. I've tried the free trial recently but been using Krita since I can't save any files unless I purchase a licence, wanna be sure I'll stick to drawing before I start spending.
    Nice video, hope you'll keep going and build up your subscribers!

    • @luckyqilin
      @luckyqilin  8 місяців тому +2

      yes, you're right they are basically ambient occlusion! looking back i should have mentioned that in the video haha. Especially if you're used to traditional, digital is always mega overwhelming at first, i hope you keep at it!

    • @luckyqilin
      @luckyqilin  9 місяців тому +1

      I'm glad you find it helpful! If you're a complete complete beginner I'd honestly just advise you to draw what you see in daily life! This can be some random items at home, your family members, the places you go - basically drawing from observation. Learning to draw from life helps your observation, and helps develop your eye for proportion too. Your eye is just as important as your hand in art!

    What drawing tablet thing and stylus do you use? Are they expensive And would I need a good/decent laptop to be able to run it?
    I was debating wether to just get an iPad and use procreate cause everyone seems to like it- but that vector layer thing and line weight thing/thicken’er thing looks ridiculously useful

    • @luckyqilin
      @luckyqilin  8 місяців тому

      you can really any tablet on the market - the stuff I use ranges from an intuos s that's the size of my hand to an iPad to a cintiq 16 (which i personally find too finicky to use sometimes). There is CSP for the ipad now! It seems to work the same as the desktop version, though I think it uses a subscription based payment.

    most digital drawing programs will have vector layers!!

    • @luckyqilin
      @luckyqilin  8 місяців тому

      yeah, this is true, but vector layers work really different depending on the program. As far as I know, CSP is the only one that lets you manipulate the lines you draw.

    Idk why, but ive been drawing for quite some time and still cant grasp any art method shown. For anything i draw lately i use the grid method but i dont wanna be stuck on that stahe forever. Maybe art wasnt meant for me

    • @luckyqilin
      @luckyqilin  9 місяців тому +1

      The grid method can be helpful if your aim is to do photographic/ultra realistic kind of drawing, but if not I'd honestly just start from drawing from observation - don't be too hard on yourself! Everyone starts from somewhere, whether it be drawing fruits in a bowl to drawing their favorite anime or game character, just tap into your interests and don't think about what feels right - just do it.

    Do you know the "vector layer" alternative for photoshop?

    • @luckyqilin
      @luckyqilin  9 місяців тому

      the only thing i can think of that comes close is the pen tool, but photoshop seems to be catered more for painting to begin with. the vector layer thing (from what i gather) is a csp specific tool since it's more catered for people who make comics!
