Why was this one of the most informational art video I have ever watched??? I hope you find five dollars on the street randomly and someone buys you lunch.
this is a great video, thank you for your tips and for talking about "embrace imperfections" i never stopped to think about the brush strokes in the traditional art vs the digital one. i always try to smudge/ blend things "perfectly" and i always get a bit frustrated, but the way you present the topic of imperfections really made me reflect about my own process!
I found this video when I downloaded your brushpack! Your channel is really awesome and high-quality! I'm along for the ride, keep up the great work!!!
Thank you for creating this video! I tried watercolor before but I always found acrylic and oil painting a bit intimidating. It’s in a way eye-opening how certain techniques are used to achieve such a beautiful outcome and also embracing small “imperfections” in them 🌻 Also side note, your voice is very calm and soothing to listen to ^^
Thank you for this video, I'm doing this technique right now and it's pretty difficult without prior prcatice. It takes more time than the process that I'm used to but I'm loving the effect so far, it does feel like I'm using oil paint. Using just a few layers as well really add to the feel.
God this video was very helpful, everytbing was explained super clearly and it helped me gain a deeper understanding of alot of stuff!! I was super shocked when i saw how many subscribers you have, youre EXTREMELY underrated. Please dont listen to anyone tell you otherwise. This video was a big help for me since im not really good at coloring. Your content gives off a really comforting yet professional vibe and i absolutely love all the videos you made. Definitely one of my new favorite artists 💖💓💝💓
very interesting video. I always wanted to try the oil paint aesthetic digitally but couldn't get it quite right. Thanks for the info, and you earned my sub!
Whoah I wanted to try to do some painterly fan art for so long but I didn’t know how to start it and get this type of result !!! Thank you so much and + 1 subscribers ❤ ( I’m French and it’s so hard to find this type of video in French language so thank you again )
Hai, I was wondering if I could apply these techniques to a scenery? I've been searching over UA-cam for a tutorial on a project I'm working on and your video has given me the most hope and confidence to do it. I'm just new to digital-oil-painting as a whole and wanted to do something cool for a project I'm working on, which is not a humanoid 😭. Thank you so much for sharing these processes!
Great tutorial, it was pretty easy to understand and your art is beautiful !! I downloaded the pack but I can't use the thick oil paint. Is it a version problem ? In any case thank you for the great brushes and tutorial
Love looking at it but not doing perfect rendering is soo real! Love the tips, more tutorial please! Any tips for line art before painting? I struggle if i should make a sketch or just go at it (not a pro artist)
thank you for your words of support ^^ about line art, I would suggest that you just go for it first, and re draw the sketch one or two times until you feel like the sketch looks clear enough! This can be really simple (like in my video the 'line art' i used was basically a second pass of my sketch)
it can happen in many ways, some that i can think of are: layering colors on top of each other, when you havent properly cleaned your brush before dipping and painting with another color, mixing a color with another directly on the canvas/surface, painting different hues next to each other, etc. As long as the values are similar (which can happen if your colors kind of 'muddy' each other, or if you're very trained in understanding colors and their values), it should achieve that kind of effect. I do think a lot of it comes with practice and definitely just not caring too much about being super 'clean'.
if you're talking about when you're using csp, I usually just drag a brush into empty space and itll automatically make a 'folder' that you can add more brushes to!
@@luckyqilin It worked like that for me before but now it just adds it to the preexisting folder and its very annoying, i was trying tk find a way to just create a folder by myself but... it looks like that option doesnt exist... i am a puppet controlled by the petty desires of my program... (i found a way to make it less annoying rho irs fine, thanks)

WILD COMMENT BAHAHA BUT IT FITS SO WELL 💀💀🤣
Massively underrated, I've always been a fan of oil painting and it's something that I really wanna emulate digitally.

Are there any similar free brushes to the ones you used that could work in procreate?

absolutely you can! most of these techniques are all taken from traditional techniques after all!

My Clip Studio version is too outdated for the thick oil paint brush. What a bummer. The computer called me broke.

How would a technique like color jitter be replicated in traditional paintings?

do u know how to create a separate group for all of your brushes? it only lets me add 1 brush at a time and it mixes with the rest of my brushes 😭

When coloring the base, do I have to color the existing layer myself or create a new layer over the existing layer?
If you're talking about the flat colors, you can do whichever you're comfortable with, but I prefer just starting on a new layer!

hello, it says that the thick oil painting brush isnt supported on my clip studio paint version?
you might have an older version of csp...unfortunately I don't know how to fix the problem, sorry about that ^^;
CSP 1.X doesn't support 'Thick Oil Paint (no dual)' and 'Thick Oil Paint'.
EDIT: It was on sale for dirt cheap so I just upgraded. No biggie!
its a shame that the brush pack is csp ver 2 or higher. im not comfy with paying csp more money after all that happened
