Mega Pinsir being crazy strong while Mega Heracross was kind of meh (RIP Arm Thrust) is sort of poetic justice for the four gens of being completely overshadowed.

That was the best part of Mega evolution. The showmanship. The over the top edgy unhinged design process. The ridiculous new game plans each mega offered. Terastillization is definitely more balanced, but lacked the broken stupidity and dramatics of mega forms.
Good thing they are releasing a Pokemon Legends game based off Kalos, Megas are coming back! Not to mention they’ll probably bring back megas in Gen 10 because of this.

Umm 1 mega per team that can't hold an item was pretty balanced?? And you can practically always tell which mon is gonna mega as opposed to tera. Imean most paradox mons coulda been mega forms in gen 6 and be completely balanced. Instead, these monsters can hold any item, get a proto boost, AND completely flip the type matchup on demand.
I love Mega Pinsir. Bit of a story with my shiny one, Fear Ripper. Found her in Alpha Sapphire in the safari after just 60 encounters. But she was... Modest. So. Lets just say I gave her a potent moveset. Storm Throw, X Scissor, Thrash, and Hyper Beam. She annihilated would be counters with Storm Throw, and anything bulky physically trying to tank a Thrash would be wiped with Hyper Beam. Yes she is a glass cannon cleaner but she is mine. And know whats funny? Years later in Ultra Sun, i found ANOTHER shiny female Pinsir who was Modest.
Which is why I wish they introduced the nature mints earlier. Gen 7 buffed every pokemon possible with the Bottle Caps making them full IV mons, all that was left was the natures. We had Megas and Zmoves then, we almost had the perfect generation. I honestly wish GF made a Showdown like game where there isnt any exploring, just a raw arena with every battle gimmick, item, and Pokemon available. The story depends on who you battle, and you can use winnings to buy things like backgrounds, items, and Pokemon. Sort of like how they did the Bakugan Video Game for the first series.

Seeing how popular Rouge-Like/Lite DLCs are for games as of recent, I wouldn't mind a free DLC addition to S/V that is similar to, say, Emerald Rouge. Or if you mean more of a Pokemon Stadium/Pokemon World Tournanent type then... well, it pretty much is the same thing in making the post-game infinitely better.

One of the best megas imo. Saves a terrible pokemon and makes it fun to use, with a good design. It has amazing offensive stats, but compensates by having a huge stealth rock weakness and bad offensive typing, needing earthquake to hit steel types. Hyper cutter and being a pure bug type in its base form also makes you think about when to mega evolve it. 10/10
Funny thing is, since Talonflame always had priority going on, most Talonflame were invested in Bulk rather than Speed, so in practice M-Pinsir's Quick Attack would generally outpace Talonflame's Brave Bird. So if Rocks were up, Talonflame needed only some chip to be in range for an unboosted Quick Attack and would always drop to a +2 one whilst Rocks were up and some chip for it to pick it up from full So checking Pinsir with Talonflame wasn't impossible, but it required care in your gameplan
Only advantages it has over mega Salamence is being immune to intimidate, close combat, and quick attack. I love it’s brutal design but it’s outclassed.
@ghostslord-23 Salamence has DD + a better defensive typing so it can just mindlessly stack setups and Roost off damage unless the opponent has a strong Ice Sharder. Pinsir has Aerilate Quick Attack (and slightly higher Attack), but I don't think that's enough to put it completely over DD spam. Intimidate also gives Salamence more setup opportunities, so holding off on mega evolving is a proper strategy. While unless you have the once in a lifetime opportunity to get off a base Pinsir Moxie boost, you pretty much have to mega evolve Pinsir on its first turn.

many years ago. my opponent was using mega alakazam, I brought it critical health. as I mega evolved pinsir my opponent ranted about how I won't get the speed advantage for a good 15 seconds and I literally gave no facial reaction when pinsir took it out with quick attack.
Love mega Pinsir, playing X randomizer was fun it even have permanent mega too. I got two of them in my playthrough, but unfortunately the two of them died in the same way.

This bitching bug is fucking insane and has bugs in it's brain. The only thing that can stand a chance against this thing is nothing short of launching a hailfire of heatseeking homing missiles. And even then a fucking Rock would still deal more damage assuming it doesn't get utterly blown to smithereens by this thing's arsenal of Fighting Type Moves. And Hyper Cutter insured that it's attck couldn't be lowered before it already boosted it up by two stages with Swords Dance THEN GOT THE POWER BOOST OF IT'S STATS UPON MEGA EVOLUTION! EVEN AFTER ALL THE ABILITIES LIKE AERIALATE WERE DRASTICALLY NERFED THIS THING JUST DIDN'T CARE AT ALL AN KEPT HURTLING THROUGH THE SKY CACKLING LIKE CRAZY AND WAS STILL E V E R Y W H E R E JUST LIKE A SWARM OF CICADAS ON A HOT SUMMER'S DAY! I still really say Houndoom got fucking screwed with gaining the ability Solar Power though, that ability just sucks ass. Losing your HP every tirn in exchange for Life Orb Damage in the Sunlight when you're already frail as hell and are taking up the Mega Evolution spot on your Team is just bad. You want that Pokémon to say around for as long as possible especially when every little bit of HP counts on what us already a Glass Cannon sweeper.

That's just so hypocritical of Pokémon: Pinsir's counterpart is Heracross. Both are physical attackers. But Pinsir? A small boost on Special Attack NOBODY NEEDED, anyway. Even if it's a small trade, I'd rather give Sp. Def 100 to make HONEST use of it.

They even gave it a pair of large fins on its forearms as if it was a battle chopper or something.

Mega pinsir is my all time favorite mega, mainly because aerialate thrash was so spammable at 2x attack
With the next Pokémon game coming out next year imagine having to deal with this.
