I just got the 7x yesterday and personally, they do not sound as good as Astro headsets. What people said about sharper and detailed audio is true, but the lack of surround sound severely hinders these headsets. They are also lacking in bass and the high ends are sometimes a lot louder than all other sounds which can hurt.
Also worth mentioning is the Engine software seems to need updating as it fails to install on MacOS 11. Astro Command Center has no problem running on Big Sur. After reading all the reviews with these headsets I was extremely cited to get them but I was unfortunately extremely disappointed yesterday. I will use them for a week and see if anything changes. But currently I do plan on returning them

I just bought The RIG 800 LX with the 3D sound for $200+ change and it's absolutely unreal walking around in the division 2, it's like I'm playing the game and hearing all the sounds as if it was my first time playing it. Not to mention that most of it comes apart and has a 24 hour battery life and is extremely comfortable with its adjustable and removable tension band. 9.5/10 definitely recommend. Downside is the Dolby Atmos Audio app. Xbox really just needs an equalizer instead of a program away from your games that has presets and uses MhZs

Don't get me wrong, i have an arctis 9x that just broke yesterday on the right ear cup after having it for a year. It is by far a great headset, however durability is an issue with my giant sized head and I need something that would last more than a year. So I bought a stealth 700 gen, I have not owned a turtle beach headset in a decade and when I went to see reviews as I purchased it today plus being able to test the station that has one of these bad boys on trial, the sound was immersive enough for me as well as the comfortable frame. These aerofit cushions for my ears and glasses are definitely the best comfort I have experienced in quite some time.
These are my go to's indefinitely.
My broken Arctic 9x and 800s from steel series will just be in the boxes that I kept and placed on my wall as headsets of the past and there greatness follows.
Thank you for the review of the Stealth 700 gen 2 as they are the perfect of everything for me. Subbed!

Haven’t tried any of the steel series line, but I will pick up the 7x when they become available. Turtle beach headsets have good sound, but the mic picks up everything in the background. So anyone in your party will become annoyed fast. Also yes I updated the firmware and used the app to try and fix that problem. But the one that has always come through for me is the Astro line of headsets. Have the a40’s for the past 10 years and they are fantastic, sound is great and the mic cancels out 99% of background noises. Since the 7x were sold out everywhere and I really didn’t want to throw down $300 for the a50’s, I picked up the a20’s and was pleasantly surprised. The sound comes in just under the a40’s but are still solid. Plus the mic works great and cancels out background noise like it’s big brother.

I have the Kaira Pros. Solid headset! Haven’t had any issues. I first purchased the Turtle beach 600s and returned them Bc they def feel rly cheap and “plastic-e”, then purchased the 9x’s. Great headset, amazing quality, butttt returned It Bc of the headphone adjustment. You can’t adjust the earphones up and down, only the headband that is there. And even adjusted, It still felt a little too snug and tight. It just felt like a constant band on my head and was putting more pressure as time went on.
Eventually landed with the Razor ones. Solid headset, awesome adjustable features. My friends sometimes talk super loud in the party chat, so being able to lower the mic and increase the gameplay right on the headset is super nice. The Bluetooth range is amazing actually. Went all the way to my master bedroom and closet and still connected. The 9x went about 20 feet and lost connection, then had to re sync, was having trouble re syncing, so eventually just shut the Xbox off and back on to connect.
Overall, happy with my Razor headphones.

Used Steel Series 9x for Xbox Series X for a month. Very comfortable but if you have big ears, make sure to get the larger ear buds.
    Pros:
    - Charges EXTREMELY FAST and battery life is over 10 hours of continuous play (I got tired).
    - Bluetooth connectivity is amazing and seamless (but has some cons, see below)
    - sound is top tier for sure
    - Very comfortable as mentioned above, but I have a big head and ears, so I need to get the larger ear pads and problem solved.
    Cons:
    - Although the Bluetooth connectivity is great, if you walk away from your xbox and it disconnects, you will most likely have to restart the headset or xbox (I had them exchanged a week later to make sure it wasn't a faulty headset, but it continued to happen).
    - During my first week of using them, I noticed my friends couldn't hear everything I was saying (this mainly happened when I was connected to the xbox and bluetooth to my phone).
    - This issue might have only happened to me, but I use an Elite controller (bought about two weeks prior to the headset) and I never had an issue with walking away from my xbox and coming back, it would reconnect every single time. But once I started use the Steel Series 9x, it seemed that the Elite controller would bug out, I would have to restart my xbox, turning the controller on and off or even trying to resync wouldn't work. I thought I was going crazy, but I used my old Razer Kraken (wired) headset, and tested this out multiple times. Not once did the Elite controller have an issue reconnecting. With the Steel Series X, it would have about 50% of the time.
Overall, the headset is amazing and I would actually recommend it, especially for the price ($200). The cons can be avoided and people might think "user error, stop leaving the room with your controller or headset", I agree, but those are features that are supposed to work 100% of the time. This could easily be an Xbox Series X issue, but doesn't seem so. Once they perfect the connectively issues, you will never need another headset again.

    • @mysticalmagic9259
      @mysticalmagic9259 3 роки тому +2

The 7x is better because it's $50 cheaper and uses a dongle to connect to the Xbox. The 9x uses Xbox Wireless to connect. Xbox Wireless can be pretty inconsistent, and the 9x is known to disconnect often. That's just a known issue with Xbox's wireless connectivity. The dongle is provided by Steelseries and is "guaranteed lossless." The only thing that the 9x has over the 7x is bluetooth connectivity, but if you're not using the headset for music listening or taking calls while gaming, the 7x is miles better in every way.

@@i_amChrisJxmes damn bro, the A40s w/mixamp are better than the Arctis Pro w/gamedac? I would have bought the Arctis Pros for sure if they made them for Xbox, everybody was hyping those up. Well at least now I know I didn’t miss out on anything. I do hear what you’re saying though, the sound quality isn’t quite the same on the A40s without the optical, but I still though they sounded batter than the Arctis 7x.

I have the arctic 9x and I had soooo many problems and it would frequently not go through in gamechat and I talk a lot in gamechat so that was a huge problem for me. It sometimes wouldn’t connect at all. I know this was the headset because my turtle beach ones would work perfectly fine when I talked in gamechat. Overall the article 9x have great sound and are super comfy. But they’re heavy on your head compared to turtle beach and would constantly fall off of my head when I would move which I do alot of when I game. Also when I switched from the $50 turtle beach ones to the Arctis 9x, all of my friends told me the mic sounded alot shittier. So when it comes down to it your personal preference is what rlly matters. But to be honest I prefer turtle beach.

I prefer how the mic can go into the 9x and comfort is almost the same maybe 9x beats it slightly. Kaira blocks out more outside noise however.

Another great thing is that it connects to my phone via Bluetooth so as I'm playing i can listen to music and if a phone call comes in I can still use the headset for the phone call and still play. curious how you rank the latest Razer Nari Ultimate 7.1 with haptic.???.
i have the Stealth 700 1st Gen,, they are OK, good sound, but, not comfortable after a few hours.
so i then got the Razer Thresher for Xbox, and absolutely love them. very comfortable, stays connected, good battery life, and even with my tinnitus being as bad as it is, i hear footsteps and sliding from other players my teammates miss. mic, according to other players, is fairly solid/clear.
But, the idea of Haptic feedback ( feel where a shot comes from, not just have to try to spot it on screen ) sounds great to me.
just want to know if they are worth it for just the Haptic side of things, or if the 7.1 surround is a modest upgrade over the current Thresher i have.

You all saying 'Why no Astro A50?' The Astro A50 for next gen doesn't work out the box for the next gen consoles and the sound quality isnt great after firmware update. There's work arounds like buying HDMI extractors or placing the optical cable into the TV but again the headset is not 100%. Check out the Website/Twitter for more information regarding upgrading the extractors and buying apps like Dolby Atmos. It's not great reading.
