    If I could make one suggestion. When you do the extrusions on the front of the box. They should be a multiple of your print resolution. You extruded .5mm. If you were to extrude .4mm and print at the standard .2mm you would get a much quicker print time. So if you wanted it thicker I would suggest .6mm but then you have to keep an eye on transparency to make sure the darker colors still light up. Obviously the same would apply to wall thickness when designing. Wonderful tutorial and I really like your slip together approach. I can't wait to try it out myself. Thanks again for taking the time to put together this content. You sir are appreciated!

      Yes, I know what you mean about the thickness. But the translucency is exactly why I do it 0.5 mm. For the filament I use it works the best because 0.4 shows the individual LED's but 0.6mm seems too dark for my taste.
      Thank you for the feedback friend!

    Great tutorial, Andy! Very easy to follow the instructions and laid out nicely as well. And I really like the little fox lamp, it came out very cute. Thanks for sharing and I subbed also! 👍

    My svg didn’t let me select exterior after offset was done, maybe the edges were too jagged 🤷‍♂️ annoying tho

    Hi great tutor … is the 0.6 not to thin that you can see the leds

      did you end upfollowing the dimensions? If not what did you use instead? I am also thinking his dims are way too small but this would be my first one

    Is there a spot to get the foxie SVG so I can follow along?

    Any suggestion on how we can make the front face edges stronger without extra layers? It cracks very easy with little pressure.

    • @NotTooShabbyCreations
      @NotTooShabbyCreations  Рік тому

      Hmm, do you mean the edge around the whole front plate or where the different colors join together? Mixing materials would do that if you print PLA and PETG they will separate easily.

      @@NotTooShabbyCreations around the whole front plate. It's mainly if you try to take out the front plate and bend it a bit, it just cracks where the front meets the side walls.

      @@01110aDz01110 you can try to increase the printing temperature 🌡️ for better layer adhesion.

    How many filament changes did that end up?

    • @NotTooShabbyCreations
      @NotTooShabbyCreations  11 місяців тому

      I used Bambu Labs P1P with AMS. But for single extruder it would be once per color, so 4 total👍

      @NotTooShabbyCreations interesting. I'm trying to make a logo with only two colors (black and white), and it says 7 filament changes. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

    • @louisgattone
      @louisgattone 10 місяців тому

      @@Joseph1994 completely depends on how many layers you are doing color swaps. It sounds like you're doing 2 colors on 4 layers (2 changes first, 2 changes second, 2 changes third, then 1 more change on the fourth). If you change it to only be 1 layer high then you will have 2 color changes.

    9 comments. I see why. That was hard to watch. That sucking air noise. You made no sense. You’re doing it the hard way. I can’t finish watching.

      Thank you for the feedback. As it is my first video, the quality is not the best. Can you explain what you mean by the hard way?

  • @1-Nice-Guy

    Nice try, but you over complicated this, there are a lot easier ways to make a light box.

    • @NotTooShabbyCreations
      @NotTooShabbyCreations  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes surely, but I've seen some of the "easier ways" and never liked the results of those.
      That's why I said at the start of the video that this is the way I do mine because I like the end result the best.
