    Not that I need a new art project, but I do have a lot of paper lying around and some spare LED strips in need of a home, and these are pretty captivating… 🤩

    i made one of these for a friend as a christmas present, it was Harry Potter themed and she liked it a lot, i used laser cut thick paper, same as you, used foamboard that i cut by hand using a cutter, i glued the layers with double sided sticky tape and LED strip for the light then framed it together using a store bought deep frame, turned out well, so well in fact that i made a 2nd one for myself , same image, since i had the parts cut 2 times just in case i made some mistakes the first time

      @@lightboxlifewhat type of paper do you use? and what is the grammage of your paper (gsm)

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  Рік тому

      @@gilang9451 I don't have a specific brand of paper, I just use whatever cardstock they have at Walmart. But the thicker the paper the better. You can usually buy a big package in the office section. I believe my paper is usually 80 GSM but I'll have to double check. You can even try watercolor paper but you have to make sure you have strong enough lights

    How many layers in between each paper that you see should there be does it all depend or do you just get a feel for it. Awesome video btw!

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  7 місяців тому

      Thank you. It really does depend. I would say the more space between the better itlooks cause it has the depth. But ultimately it's up to you. I use foam board from hobby lobby and they have many different thicknesses. I like the half inch thick ones.

    Paper woodbox cutter glue cardstock paper thick enough to stand up thin enough to let the light shine in. Sketching paper take lighting and shadows

    Can you give a more detailed break down of establishing the individual layers from each image in the software?

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  Місяць тому

      It's a little difficult to explain but you have to imagine the image in a 3d scene. You have to see what is in the distance, what is up close, what is behind or in front of what. And you create layers with the subjects of your image on the layers and when you stack them you place them in order from back to front. I don't actually plan out anything in the software, I just visualize it. Hope this helps!

    Thank you how do you use left over led strips?

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  6 місяців тому

      I don't have left over. I buy the 6ft strips and it all fits in the box behind the paper if I wrap it around multiple times. It gives extra light which is good.😁

    hi! for the cardstock paper what is the gsm that you used? i searched up cardstock paper but i got overwhelmed huhu idk which to choose;(

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  11 місяців тому

      Hey, Im currently using 176 GSM and it's 65 lbs paper, but I always use different ones. It doesn't matter too much as long as it's not too thin or thick like watercolor paper.

    How do you seperate the pictures into layers?

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  Рік тому +1

      You take your picture and to figure out where you want the layers to be you have to look at the picture and see where the parts of the image are seperate, if that makes sense. For example you have a picture of trees. The tree closest to the camera will be on a layer. The trees behind it will be another. The trees behind that will be another. Etc.

    • @jendyllotiamry
      @jendyllotiamry 9 місяців тому

      But how did you separate them and make them layers? Does your tablet just do that for you?

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  9 місяців тому

      No. You have to seperate it in your head and look at the picture in a way where you can pick it apart. If you can look at the picture and visualize the depth of it it becomes easy. I don't know how to describe it exactly cause I'm used to looking at things from that perspective so it seems natural. There might be some app or program to seperate images but if there is I've never heard of it.

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  9 місяців тому

      And if I have it visualized I can copy it onto paper and make the layers easily. Hope this helps!😁

    I want to make a bigger size light box around 50x80cm. Is it possible? If yes I should I proceed? Is there any template available?

    • @lightboxlife
      @lightboxlife  4 місяці тому +1

      It's definitely possible. The key is finding paper big enough. I would recommend finding paper that's the size you want and then making a border around the paper and then you can cut your foam board to the right lengths. I made a big lightbox for my animation project so you can check it out to see how I did it there. I don't have templates currently but I'm planning on making some
