Just a dumb Aussie doing India.

- From my Jodhpur guesthouse I roam the streets and lanes on my way to visit the great fort.
On my way I buy some popcorn from a street cart, play a game of cricket with some children, then climb many stairs and a hill to reach the fort.
I chat with a man riding a camel and ask how comfortable it is and whether he could see himself for long periods riding through the desert.
A group of Indian tourists chat with me as we make our way toward Jodhpur’s fort and some friendly ribbing ensued in regard to Australia beating India in the world cup of cricket.
My GoPro froze without me realizing and I lost a lot of my footage for the day including the inside of the fort. I didn’t realize my mistake of checking its recording light while using it until on my way back to town. I was somewhat disappointed to say the least.
We see a man in Indian ceremonial dress with sword, and I get a beard trim before a man invites me into his business to share his food prepared for him by his family.
I buy an orange juice from a small shop before trying to find my way back to my guesthouse.
It was a great wander around the streets of Jodhpur meeting many interesting people and seeing many interesting things.
My son had been waiting for your video ever since you told us that “this is going to be on UA-cam”
Came here for our small part but eventually ended up watching all of it. Great job, loved how you are representing and exploring India 👏
- Father & Son on the Camel
Hi! I'm so pleased you were kind enough to chat, and also came to say hello here as well. Congratulations to you and your son on what is I believe a tremendous cameo!
Most humble and well behaved foreign travel vlogger I have ever seen in India.
Hello, tusharsingh. That's very kind of you. Thanks.
Very cool of the young man to share his food and having a chat :)
Wasn't it a warm and friendly gesture? Kush was a really interesting guy with a very calm and grounded character, i thought.
What a wonderful genuine man sharing his home cooked lunch. Reminds me of my Australian childhood surrounded by Italians and Croatians. Food is love language universally for those that know. Really enjoying your podcasts Wayne. Thank you so very much.
Hey dreamcreate, thanks so much for the kind words. I imagine being surrounded by Italians and Croatians would be a vastly different Australian upbringing experience to what we others would be used to. You're lucky! Thanks for taking the time to stop by, dreamcreate.
What a synchronistic and magical moment with that young fellow. The food looked good. You may be putting India on people's to go list.
The food was really tasty it has to be said, stevenjb, the company equally so. There's so much to like about India it's a wonder more people aren't putting it on their list. Cheers.
That random home food really made up for the bad day with lost footage. He is so right about good karma. You got privilege to try a home cooked food that you would otherwise have missed. That is because of your being open mindedness. I live in NZ and had a few Aussie colleagues and bosses. They never tried my lunch. One rather told me when I was sharing lunch- "In Aussie we only cook for old people or pregnant women" pfft. So there you have it ♥ your vlogs 🇮🇳
That's disappointing that your Aussie colleagues and bosses wouldn't try your food. I think it is a very personal shared experience to eat with other people who you've just met, and if their food is new to you, it's even more special. Kush was a very kind and generous man to share his food with me. Thanks for your story, ashishneg.
@@fiascodagama1Thank you for not leaving food on your plate. God bless you.
Good Karma Wayne, nice to see this exchange. Really enjoying the Vlogs. Sorry to hear about the lost footage, but it now gives you a reason to return.
Hey Stevo, good to see you. Kush was a really generous guy and there was a lot more to our chat but couldn't put it all in. Hope you're good, mate.
Love your videos because your a spontaneous adventurer! Not a tourist guide! Reminds me of when I travelled and never planned anything, but you can wander of into amazing people and places! Off the beaten track so to speak!
There's this sense of the unknown about it, isn't there? It seems we both like things to be a bit unpredictable, bruce, which in some ways makes it all a bit more interesting for some of us. Good to see you again.
Hi Wayne forts and other touristy stuff are well documented but your experiences with people and occasions are invaluable. So dont worry mate, we didn't lose anything.
Keep exploring and have a safe one...
Thanks, girish. I kind of feel the same, I'm not sure if I can bring anything new or original to tourist sites. You take care as well.
That was such a sweet gesture by that man who offered you food that too from his own tiffin 😊 also the spirituality about Karma he explained to you yes in Hinduism it's believed that whatever returns to you by your good Karma ultimately 🙏
Ah, it's called a "tiffin". Thanks.
@@fiascodagama1 yes in India the box we take to office, work, schools are called as "Tiffin" what you call it aus? Lunchbox? We use it too but most common is Tiffinbox 😊
@@samip3124 Yes, exactly, we call it a lunchbox. You know more about Australian life than I do about Indian life it seems. Ha!
What an articulate and well-spoken young man.
So proud of him.
Man, you're hilarious! Never spare a chance to remind an Indian of the world cup loss. Oh well, just discovered your channel. Love it! A breath of fresh air. Great personality and not annoying like many other vloggers. What more can I ask for? Keep it up grandpa 😜 Looking forward to more videos...
Grandpa approves of this reply. :) Thanks for the encouragement, BonBon, hope to see you again. Cheers.
@@fiascodagama1 I don't know how you do it, but personally replying to every single comment is not an easy task for sure. A wonderful gesture towards your viewers regardless. Shows how nice of a person you are. Thank you sir, and happy travels!
Sir, I am an Indian. But, I am rediscovering my country through your lenses. Thank you.
You're such a kind man Wayne. I am new to your channel and I am absolutely loving it so far. There is a saying in India- A man's belief is how he sees the world. You see good in everyone coz you believe in good. I wish you the best.
such a nice, honest and genuine vlogger
wish you success and loads of subscribers my friend
That's really generous of you, karanbagga. Thanks so much.
Phew, thought you’d been robbed. Man, I’m well travelled in India and as soon as you said “they’re only kids” I laughed out loud. Those little tykes live, breathe and dream cricket 24/7 & they’re more….religious about it compared to us Poms & Aussies. Bit like the Brazilians and football/soccer. Also…I’m 55 and, incidentally, I too have an awesome beard not unlike yours-don’t procrastinate on the Himalayas brother. They’re inbloodycredible and as far as the mountain trekking goes you can ease yourself in. I’m not exactly trim n toned & I’ve three stents in me ticker- I shoot round the mountains like a backpacking student on a gap year regularly. It’s just that the ‘hikes’ tend to be frequent, short and interspersed with regular chai breaks. I thoroughly recommend the Parvati Valley for the amazing and beautiful Pahari people, village to village walks, hot springs, great food, breathtaking views and legendary organic herbal stress relief. Anyway, I’m rambling..I’ve been boring the tits off people re; budget travel in India for years😂 Loving your vlogs man, great delivery, don’t change for anything except filthy cash. Happy travels. 🙏
Ha! By far the most entertaining comment I've had since trying this youtube caper and I'd like to offer you a great big thanks for that! Thanks for the recommendations of the Parvati Valley and all that goes in that Himalayan neck of the woods. Thanks for the kind words and I hope you'll give me a giggle in the comments again from time to time. You sound like a guy I could have a beer and a laugh with. If you're ever in India...or Thailand...or Indonesia... Cheers, unklemunky
@@fiascodagama1 deffo man. If you’re in India for Feb or possibly April it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility

It really is, isn't it. People are so kind.

Once again, top notch content my friend. Sorry you lost some footage but what you had was really good. The people in India are very hospitable and kind, thats what i've learned from watching countless videos at this point... Cheers!
Thanks UrielCopy. Yes , there's no doubt you'll be treated very well when you get here.

Hi India_React. Thank so much for coming along on this little jouney with me, and your kind words.
Really humble and interesting video with a great title! But it should be called the smart Aussie. As India doesn't get many respectful westerners. Thanks. Jai hind 🙏Jai Sita ram 🕉️
Very kind of you, kavit. Thank you.
Just holding out on the fort footage because I wanted to see it I'm guessing.
Seems like you had a good day regardless of the lost footage though. 😁
Fortunately there's another fort where I've just arrived so you won't have to hold out much longer.
3:13 touchy subject for sure, ha. And congratulations on 1k subscribers! When I subscribed a week or two ago I remember seeing ~800. Good on ya : ) Looks like you're enjoying India, and certainly enjoying watching the videos so far. Cheers.
Thanks for acknowledging a rather important milestone for new youtubers, Kartik. And it's a lot of fun enjoying some friendly ribbing with the cricket supporters here in India. Some people I've spoken to have a deep understanding of the game and its history - really enjoyable.
First time watching, great video
Thanks for dropping by, garethc
TY for sharing .
India definately touches your soul .
It brings out the inner hippy in oneself .
I find people that have the least give the most .
Its the simplist things in life that have the biggest impact .
A smile ,a wave ,a chat .and chai.
Being kind .
So cool.

Travel it well ❤.
Hi Jane, thanks for dropping by. I've also noticed it's the less well off who tend to be more giving, or willing to share. We're very fortunate if these people come into our lives either briefly or for longer periods, and i believe it's our duty to return the generosity wherever we can. I hope your journey is everything you want it to be.
Although your previous clips got corrupted but inexchange you presented a beautiful clip uncle wayne 💖keep it up.
Thanks so much, aksshit.
That man, just slayed the food and English both 😂😂❤❤
Ha! Thanks for dropping by, codenerd.
You lost video footage, but you gain something more interesting than the fort, which though great it’s people and your random encounters that make it great! Greetings. From Melbourne 🇦🇺👍
Hi Bruce, and thanks for taking the time to drop a comment. I have to say i enjoy the street walking and meeting people more than visiting the sort of tourist sites. I'm thinking I might just stick with sneaking around the lanes and seeing who I bump into, it's a bit more rewarding for me - and seemingly for others. Thanks again.
Excellent Posting
Jai Hind 🙏 🙏 🙏
Thanks, shantipaddas. Have a good day.
How nice of him to invite you for food ❤❤❤. Assuming you are using GoPro, and the gopros are so infamous to make software problems. Anyways looking forward to the next visit of the fort ❤❤❤.
Hi Ali. Yes, the GoPro was freezing, and because I now feel more confident with videoing, I wasn't checking to see if it was recording - I was just hitting the button on and off. I also had issues transferring videos which has been a learning experience for me. There's so much more to vlogging I'm learning than just walking around shooting things. And yes, it was really nice of Kush to share his food. good to see you as always.
Rajasthani's also known as Marwari known for their hospitality and peaceful nature, artifacts, cloths all over India their food is really good specially Dal bati churma, Mawa Kachori, many sweets like Ghewar, Balushahi etc you should try✌️
Hi sampi, please continue with your recommendations and advice if you feel you'd like to - it' s nice to have these suggestions.
@@fiascodagama1 surely i never visited Rajasthan but we had many neigbours from Rajasthan and had their food they are known for hospitality very self respectful people its known as Royal state of India because it used to be kingdom ruled by Rajputs. At Home there is very different food culture a very rich one unlike the street food, that's why foreigners complaints about too much spices.
There is definitely a subtle difference to the home made food I thought. What i had with Kush seemed to be a little more subdued in spiciness but richer in the combination of flavors.
Never have I been disappointed by a vlogger when he said “ I have lost some content “ believe me you are genuinely viewing our country like an average intrigued foreigner… lovely
Seafood at Godavari districts in the state of Andhrapradesh is amazing
Hey raja, thanks for the recommendation.
Kush bro, your true Indian
Really chilled generous guy is our Kush.
I don't know if this is true but people here say that the fruits like oranges & especially Alphonso mangoes are sweeter in India because of a hotter climate.
I was wondering if something like that was true because I've noticed oranges in India to be particularly nice.
Indian Village Life is very different from big cities
