THANK YOU so much for saying that. I was sincerely hoping that someone else had the same sentiments as I. The transition into Astral Weeks is so utterly perfect. It’s the finest piece of music I have ever heard.
I agree with others, this is a great version (which I haven't heard before). What's really striking for me is that Astral Weeks is considered such a seminal work ("mythological" even), and yet 22 years after its release, Van Morrison is able to produce this version (of "Sweet Thing") which in my opinion is every bit as good as the original. It just goes to show how incredible Van Morrison's performances have been over the years.
Peter Smith There’s nothing quite like an intelligent comment about Van on UA-cam. Keep the flame alive! I think this version really works - punchier drums and more forceful sound compared to original (less mystical) and both work
Probably the most beautiful piece of music ever. Ever.

One of the most beautiful versions of this song I've ever heard ! His Voice is so soulful, makes my heart weep.
Since 1968 I have vowed to never grow so old again😎
I was only eight and had already grown old. I got born again though.❤

This just keeps growing on me the more I hear it, eight minuets of bliss, and I deserve every minuet of it. Sorry not for sharing.
This performance one might call "very...very to-gether" --- to be born again

Such an incredible talent
Flute and organ add alot to this version!
yes, the groovy flute solo is great ... and the E-piano play adds a beautiful note to Van's singing
Jeez, the drumming on this is top notch
Van is flying.
Fantastisch optreden van Van the Man met een geweldige Georgie Fame op Hammond-orgel!
