You are so lucky!!! My biggest regrets in life are that I missed these guys and Chester Bennington live... I went to an Everclear concert in 2020 and then again this year and they are still going strong as
One of their best tracks. When I saw them live it was 1999, he did this song in 100 degree weather wearing a fur coat and cowboy hat and was flawless 😂
In the 90s and early 2000s going to the movies was still so fun and there was so much good stuff to watch that there were actually bands and artists that sung songs about going to the movies. AAF , harder rock groups like Buckcherry which had the hit Crazy Bitch; a song that would insanely cancel the band today about sex, even wrote a song called (About The Movies), the band Fuel in their biggest hit Hemmorage sang "She dreams that life is like some movie black and white". People were still inspired by good storytelling and exciting characters that they could relate to in their own lives. It really is disheartening to hear that this generation doesn't get how fun it's supposed to be to go a movie theatre with your friends or family, on a date. Sit there with a bunch of strangers in the dark and laugh or gasp, maybe scream or say 'oh shit!' when there's a twist. I never thought a time would come, in my life when a combination of extreme social media influence and a generation of studio executives and "writers, producers, and even some directors who have no real life experience or real talent, are stupidly put in charge of continuing the tradition of providing this great experience but can't seem to live up to the task. Or their activism makes them put a need to promote their personal ideology over a desire to satisfy the public. We're in this horrible, crippling state of creative bankruptcy and high inflation where big studios can't afford to make movies anymore unless their generically genre related or comic book oriented and guaranteed sequels making one of America's greatest past times, a thing of the past. Or their recycled, often beloved hits from the past, redone (rebooted), over and over, it's terrible and one of the biggest reasons for the disconnect between filmmakers and potential audiences now. There are other factors affecting things including shorter attention spans and corporate desirability to appeal to foreign markets as well as certain genres like Family movies, often animated pushed more then R Rated thrillers these days. There are also certain exceptions ocassionally in the theatres and streaming mostly independently made smaller films appealing to older audiences. But I really wish we can have a time again when great ideas are allowed to flourish, great inspirational, quality films will be made like I grew up with and multigenerational audiences will appreciate the fun of going opening weekend to, The Movies! Maybe a new generation of musical performers will wanna write songs about the joy of going out to a theatre again and how they can relate to certain characters that remind them of themselves. watching a great flick who knows.
If I could freeze time I think 1996 would be one of the years I would freeze. We saw this interesting, introspective, very young lady come on the scene who seemed to have the soul of a woman maybe thirty years her senior. Not just because of her singing but attitude, subtle yet powerful. She was waify and a little androgynous yet despite her age had a self assurance about herself which was actually covering up an early life of pain and abuse. Along wirh her was Alanis Jewel and even more alternative voices like Harriet Wheeler, Tanya Donnelly, Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star. These were the new Joni Mitchell's and Carol King's. To date I haven't seen any group of women as this who actually had songs on the radio and songs that meant something. Not just about materialism, casual sex and angry femenism without a point. For alot of people who came of age in the 90s their music is now timeless.
+Sideler74, they are still together. The lineup is a bit different. But Brett is the lead again, and they just put out a new album, "Puppet Strings," in 2014 I believe.
Maybe Next Time Ronda... Or, Maybe Not. No their not... It's Brett & 3 hired guns. I saw them live a few years ago & it was less than stellar. They were missing key guitar parts etc. No good
+Sideler74, Fuel is better with Brett and the "three hired guns," than Toryn and the rest of the original lineup, no? Lol. Alright, that is purely an opinion on both mine and your parts... Admittedly, when Brett and the newbies were playing under the moniker "Re-Fueled," several years back, they did not sound too great and neither did Brett. Even when Brett managed to reclaim the Fuel name legally, they still did not sound fantastic, a bit better, but not fantastic. Now, Fuel has released a new album in 2014 called, "Puppet Strings." It is obviously not as great as their EPs (when they were known as "Small the Joy," and when they first became Fuel) or their first three albums (yes, I excluded the one with Toryn, because we are talking about Brett's Fuel, not Toryn's Fuel). However, there are quite a few songs on the album that sound very similar to classic Fuel, and the newer sound on other songs are good in their own right and are almost just as good as their older songs. Brett's voice has definitely improved since you last seen him, and his raspiness is coming back with full force. In fact, his other side project band, known as World Fire Brigade, has released one album in 2012 called, "Spreading My Wings," which is much heavier than Fuel ever was or is. Brett's voice is spectacular on that album, and there are even moments where he sounds just like he did in the late 90's and 2000's, during his prime. I will say one thing though, from 2003 (during Fuel's, "Natural Selection," release) onward to 2011 (approximately, before World Fire Brigade became a band), Brett's vocals were shot, or for the lack of better words, he just did not sound like he used to (probably from vocal strain). I will even go on to say, that he sounded like a completely different singer from 2008 to 2011, because his voice was so morphed to the point where I could not even identify that it was Brett Scallions from Fuel singing, not even when he sung Fuel's best songs. Now, since 2012, I have heard much significant improvement with his vocals, to where he is starting to sound like his young amazing self again. You can hear it on his only World Fire Brigade album released in 2012, and you can hear even more improvement on Fuel's latest release in 2014. Fuel's live performance has improved tremendously since Brett and the newer lineup have been together. They may have not been so great at first, but now that time has passed they are starting to sound more and more like classic Fuel. Granted, the original lineup can never truly be replaced. But, this is so much better than nothing. I say give them another shot, I would be surprised if you were disappointed again.
The producers for the superbowl should put this up against any act....The sad thing is that the acts pay the superbow like 8 million for stage time under the table and that is why the SUper Bowl Half times are STUPID and have like a `Its all about me air' the musician that is....and not a grab uplifting energetic act.
ya, the whole time brett was in the band he only got to write two songs, which were ALIVE AND DYING, and LUCK, he also got to help write down and knives but thats it, it shouldnt be like that when it comes to being in a band, everyone should have an imput, not just one person, and thats one main reason why he quit.
None of mine except my elegant vampire appreciates me being chosen by so many aliens 👽 He likes it when everyone chooses his chosen one... The rest of you and myself are not captof handling anything
dude they're nothing alike Scott is one of my favorite frontmen although when I watch him perform I question his mental stability, something I didn't do watching Brett
Pretty good... but I honestly dont see what makes them any different than all the other lower voiced singin alternative rock bands... not saying its bad... just extremely typical. Nice drum set.....
I just wish Brett would come back. I don't like Carl and that bass player since they kicked him out of the band because they thought his singing "Sucked."
I disagree that Brett was fuel. Carl Bell is Fuel....he never got the credit for writing ALL of their records including the lyrics. Their newest record was written by Carl Bell period.
And at the same time, Brett will never be like Toryn was. The band took a different direction when Toryn came in. They're two completely different singers, neither is like the other, and that is not bashing either one. Sure, Toryn cannot sing like Brett, but Brett cannot sing like Toryn either.
Brett put about as much energy as humanly possible into this performance
I was at this show and it was amazing!!!! This was definitely Fuel at their prime!
ramster311 man I envy you 😞
Such an amazing night....5 freaking dollars too!!! Will never beat that value!!!🤘🤘🤘
When was this
You are so lucky!!! My biggest regrets in life are that I missed these guys and Chester Bennington live... I went to an Everclear concert in 2020 and then again this year and they are still going strong as
Go back and take me with you
A good way to check the performance is to look at the audience reaction. This crowd was INTO it. Literally every single person there.
If I was Brett and had the girl at 0:45 looking at me the whole time, I'd give the best damn performance I could too lol
Wow! His voice is incredible! Underrated for sure
The drummer is fucking insane, holy shit
That would be kevin miller😎
He's OK,,, Brett is the real talent.
*Kevin Miller, child. And I don't care if your comment is from 13 yrs ago.
One of their best tracks. When I saw them live it was 1999, he did this song in 100 degree weather wearing a fur coat and cowboy hat and was flawless 😂
brett is the shit, i dont care who wrote the songs, without brett, there songs mean absolutly nothing. I miss you brett
dude is a beast!
Man Brett could sing. And what a cool venue for a performance. Wish I would have gone
man the singer is bringing it!!!!!!
The band at their peak! Awesome live energy, wish I was there!
I was there.... still get goosebumps watching these videos!!!🤘🤘🤘
Being alive from the 90s, people won't realize how much great talent we had, and we never knew it. ❤❤
That drummer HITS

i think he sings better live than in the studio....amazing.
Please get the original band back together, Please !!!!
THAT is a fucking rock star.
Great Voice !!, Brett Scallions is a great singer.....cool
0:08 to 0:13. Damn Brett, got some moves huh? Get it! Lol.
AMAAAAAAZING!
ONE OF THE BEST BAND EVER!
Lots of energy back there!!
I wish there were more videos of them doing Last Time live
Brett es asombroso ❤❤❤
Was this the night Brett tried coke for the first time HOLY CRAP insane performance

Absolutely crushing it here...
What a place for a show.
0:44 really fit the verse while the black shirt woman dancing and stare to me eyes
Hell yeah, those were the days. \m/
Jeez Brett and the guys know how to fuckin rock! Thank you for posting :-)
Carl Bell is a great writer, and Brett singing the songs is how his songs were meant to be...i like old school fuel more than new, but thats just me
Brett is GOD. Fuel is NOTHING without him!
I've loved fuel my whole life! I just realized that this song was in a walk to remember! Brett is BANGIN!!!!!!
im loyal to brett. he was FUEL!!!
Awsome performance!
Look at him dancing and posing... He is just going out there to have fun. AMAZING toryn Will NEVER be fuel like Brett was!
This venue is fucking sick
Man, if these guys were still together....
but some members are not here
+Sideler74, they are still together. The lineup is a bit different. But Brett is the lead again, and they just put out a new album, "Puppet Strings," in 2014 I believe.

Brett, Kevin, Carl & Jeff. That's FUEL.
Nice dance move at the beginning
+Bobby Higginbotham, Right?! Lol...
Brett Scallions: Making leather pants look cool since 1993.
5:08 He looks so Happy. lmfao
Ayyy TOOL album. My man.
3:55 wtf did I just witness….. woah
🇧🇷🤙🏼
Fuck these dudes KILLED IT
God dam Im old
1:55 Nice
where did u find this live and thanx for uploaded it
Amen to to that! Never a true'er word said.
generally not a fan of bands that have the 'creed' style of singing, but ive always loved fuel and these 2 songs rocked
i realized that, it's pretty bad ass for this performance
ya he wrote two songs on his own, and he helped carl write Down and Knives thats it.
Does anyone else notice the heavey EQ on Carl Bell's guitar rig? It sounds very metalized. It's not just the H & K amps.
The producers for the superbowl should put this up against any act....The sad thing is that the acts pay the superbow like 8 million for stage time under the table and that is why the SUper Bowl Half times are STUPID and have like a `Its all about me air' the musician that is....and not a grab uplifting energetic act.
playing with riders on the storm, Ray Manzarek and Robby Kreiger from the doors.
What year was this?
Mid 2001.
empty spaces the song from a walk to remember where shane west is being chased by police.
Awsome performance.
What year is this, 2001?
@skatepleaze nah, i heard they ere getting back again like a day ago xD
What was that little dance move at the beginning???
What YEAR was this???
2001
wish Brett played guitar on this
ya, the whole time brett was in the band he only got to write two songs, which were ALIVE AND DYING, and LUCK, he also got to help write down and knives but thats it, it shouldnt be like that when it comes to being in a band, everyone should have an imput, not just one person, and thats one main reason why he quit.
what happend to the 90s????
Fuel kicks fucking balls
does the drummer always go on the stage without a shirt on?
He actually starts with a shirt and it shreds away when he starts playing!!!
@jaske41 fuck, Kevin is fuckin insane xD
None of mine except my elegant vampire appreciates me being chosen by so many aliens 👽
He likes it when everyone chooses his chosen one... The rest of you and myself are not captof handling anything
gangnam style at 0:13
Decent video, just wish the singer would get into the music a little bit more...LOL, just kidding, Brett is amazing
Oh, you damn TROLL. X}
You are the best!
Seeing how hard he hits the drums, it would be suicidal to keep clothes on.
dude they're nothing alike Scott is one of my favorite frontmen although when I watch him perform I question his mental stability, something I didn't do watching Brett
I know it’s been 12 years but who is Scott?
Scott stapp
Without songs, a singer is insignificant. Great songs sell records, not frontmen. Anyone in the industry will tell you that.
Yea.... what happened to Toryn then?
Carl wrote them, but Brett sold them. Fuel doesn’t exist without them both.
Pretty good... but I honestly dont see what makes them any different than all the other lower voiced singin alternative rock bands... not saying its bad... just extremely typical. Nice drum set.....
Wow. He sounds nothing like Maynard though. Maynard is something else.
Ok ok ok...I know now.
@1cody2williamson3 he is kevin miller....a FUCKN DRUMMER!!!HE IS THE BEST.....DOESN'T NEED A SHIRT...HEHE
I just wish Brett would come back. I don't like Carl and that bass player since they kicked him out of the band because they thought his singing "Sucked."
Btw the lead guitar is recorded, it's not live, peace
Guess I was wrong. Brett did only get to write only a few songs.
The new Fuel band is not the same as these guys at all, just a bunch of auto tuned garbage bullshit, hard to recreate stuff like this tho
I disagree with your comment. I'd say a combination of both will SELL RECORDS, at the very least.
My dancing while installing the floor of cozy room, is way better dancing than Brets
Tell me he’s not a dope frontman
id say fuel are done
they were a great band
anyway at least we got 3 good albums off them
Jeff had nothing to do with it, was all Carl
I disagree that Brett was fuel. Carl Bell is Fuel....he never got the credit for writing ALL of their records including the lyrics. Their newest record was written by Carl Bell period.
Good CALL!!! Carl ruined the band.....brett has it back!
Yeah, sort of. Almost like worst old Fuel songs... (damn, which they have not)
PiroXiline there are no bad fuel songs
Are you going to eat the raccoons soon?
does scott weiland know that brett stole his stage moves.
And at the same time, Brett will never be like Toryn was. The band took a different direction when Toryn came in. They're two completely different singers, neither is like the other, and that is not bashing either one. Sure, Toryn cannot sing like Brett, but Brett cannot sing like Toryn either.
