Magnifique pour les oreilles et magnifique pour les yeux. La musique est extraordinairement bien interprété par un orchestre bien Inspiré et talentueux mais surtout dirigé par le meilleur le plus intelligent et surtout le plus élégant et le plus beau.....que cet homme est splendide.....merci
You can hear he listened and watched Kleiber's version by his conducting.. but he and the orchestra fail to produce something even in range of that esprit and precision. Although the microphone setting is clearly not in favour of the musicians, you can hear clear discrepancies in timing, articulation etc. like at the beginning, 2:35, 3:03, 3:22, 5:00. Just listen to Kleiber and feel happy.
I put the Georges Pretre's Fledermaus ouverture from 2010, in the same level than Kleiber's one in terms of lyrism and musicality, I even prefer Pretre's version ! But the Kleiber's timbre from every instrument is a miracle of sound and it's unbeated.
with all respect I find both version equal in their own ways top quality, this one may be, god forgive me, maybe more enlightening than Carlos's performace
This is not meant as disrespect towards Kleiber who was a masterful conductor. But while his version might be a bit more technically perfect, with Kleiber I always get the subtle feeling that he isn't *really* feeling the Viennese rhythm and that puts me on edge. With Welser-Möst I never have to be afraid that he'll forget to slow down and speed up where he is meant to.

Kleiber's version is a master's recording and every good conductor knows those productions with Carlos, I think. You're right.
Not as perfect as Kleiber's one, still very good and perfectly enjoyable.
