HS2 Colne Valley Viaduct

Two weeks and update on progress as 'Dominique' launching girder completes another 80m span and is now just 2 v-piers away from dry land after a long journey...
HS2 is the UK's newest high speed railway linking London to Birmingham and the north. Trains are due to cross the colne valley area here in the early 2030's

Yes, well filmed, Cuemaster! A great perspective on the work over the last 6 months, with the segments lined up neatly to be inserted. Sadly for us ground based videographers, it shows that the action is slowly disappearing too far to film from the canal. Maybe I'll find a new viewpoint! Many thanks again for a great video!

👍 🙏 Yes it’s gone pretty quickly engineer workers doing great job and working very fast with the last lake nearing completion…This particular project is a good example of a different type of curve associated with CVV….the learning curve I would say!!

Thanks, the variable depth of the sections allows the spans to vary 60 meters to 80 meters, as the viaduct passes through the mosaic of lakes and woodland.
