- I couldn't help myself! It's been a couple of months since we first uploaded the eight new Robot Master stage themes here on the NF Magazine UA-cam channel, intending to give every Mega fan on the Internet a soundtrack preview shortly before the game went on sale. Since then, though, those videos have exploded in popularity and gathered rich communities in their Comments sections, as fans reacted individually to each different track. And I've been wanting to add more to keep that momentum going!
So this is arriving a little late, but better late than never! The excellent next stage music you get to hear after you've vanquished all eight of those Robot Masters and set your sights on Wily himself, sheltered inside his new, gear-themed fortress.
As before, this track has been extended to 11 minutes! Have a listen, then debate in the Comments below about how it stacks up with the Wily stage themes of the past! Is it operating like a well-oiled machine, or does it really grind your gears? Let us know!

I love how despite almost never leaving his fortress, Dr. Wily wears a dress shirt and tie under his lab coat. Looking good for himself is reason enough.
Sometimes he goes out shopping too. Probably to buy yet another Guts Man figurine and some deli trays.

I always loved how this theme sounds vaguely sad. Fitting for a game where we learn about Wily's semi-tragic backstory.
Most antagonists have a sad Background wich made or turned them into what they are now in the present. Willy just had bad luck, was misunderstood even with good intentions and no one cared for him or his misfortune. Cant blame him for how he is now
@@SoulCrusherEx if you think about, that is somewhat the base for most villains of the MegaMan Series:
Sigma: wants to test how reploids can evolve out of being simple slaves of humans, and ultimately extinguish the humans as he sees Reploid as the superior species (and his wish actually got somewhat granted since Reploids have full autonomy out of humans in Zero and in ZX and Legends the Reploids and Human are basiclly merged and are not longer distinguable from each other)
The main problem is that his methods are completely ruthless, sacrificing any reploid until X5 and X6 where is completely mad and obsessed with X and Zero
@@Leonheart039 however Sigma has this Reploid master race view and personality due to the unfinished Virus that he got infected with after he nearly died fighting Zero which then mutated into the Sigma virus (which warped his mind and personality then imprinted it on the incomplete virus as the virus is basically Roboenza 2.0 and both viruses where made with Evil energy from Trio/the Evil robot)

Dr. Wily's tragedy comes from a mixture of being overlooked and mistreated and him being unable to handle his own wounded pride. As Light admits at the end, the double gear system actually proved to be a great technology that could improve the robot capabilities, unfortunately the rejection and fear form the past resulted in Wily being consumed by rage and envy, eventually becoming the evil scientists he's now.

I'm sorry, but this theme got old by stage 3. And that's probably because I was playing it in handheld mode without my headphones
The fortress themes from 5 and 6 fit that description pretty well. Mostly 5 - that song's a banger.
Fun fact, the entire soundtrack of Megaman 11 carries a leitmotif across most tracks. See if you can hear it.

Only one that stuck out for me was the Wily stage select theme, which had a hint of the mega man 4 boss theme
For the first time since Megaman 6, every level of Dr. Wily's Fortress has the same theme.
Not that I'm complaining. It's rather catchy.
I think it has a lot of heart, too.

While I feel like some of the tracks in Megaman 11 are a downgrade from previous games, this one still captures the feeling of the retro Wily themes with the new style of music Megaman 11 has, making quite an amazing theme.
I think they give an identity to the game.

This is my all-time favorite Mega Man game, and my second all-time favorite video game (Right next to EarthBound).
I think this is the best game in the entire franchise. I'm not just saying it because it's the newest one. This Game is what Mega Man X SHOULD have been: An evolution in the series that stays true to the original without compromising any of the characters that made it so special. There should not be a complete change of slate. It should have kept the setting, just upgraded the gameplay. And that, folks, is exactly what this game did.

Mega Man X was still a great game, and it worked at the time, pushing forward the franchise with new mechanics while still allowing the Classic series to continue with its "classic" gameplay. Mega Man 11 is what Mega Man 8-10 should have aimed for is what I believe, pushing Classic Mega Man into the new generation. Mega Man X tried to do the same with X8 and the 2.5D graphics but ultimately never continued with the style into the rest of the era to reap the benefits.
heard a lot of complaints about this theme being used in all stage until Willy's fight but personally didnt mind it since i love it

I agree. The themes in this game series are powerful enough to move you through the game, pushing you to reach the next challenge. Have you heard Trials of Light theme? Those are annoyingly hard lmao and yet the music kept my xbox controller from being straight up Impact Strike'd across my yard lmao

I don't know why everyone is complaining that this is the only wily theme. I'd rather have one amazing wily theme than one amazing wily theme and two awful - mediocre ones. Marika Suzuki probably didn't think that she could create three amazing wily themes, and I would say that the game is better because there is only one track.
Still, previous Megaman games had multiple awesome soundtracks per wily castle (and others for 4-6)
Still, MM3, 7, 9 and 10 had all great tracks.
I love MM11 but It honestly does feel lazy with some of the music.

Early on in the first stage, you can see the fortress slowly moving away from you with giant metal spider-legs.

This music is so heart pumping, guessing the reason why the wily stages are very short like some games I recall like MegaMan 3 & 7 is probably cause the length of the stages of the robot masters + minibosses you have to fight all of them.

Though I agree that having another wily stage theme would have been awesome, I’d rather have just this one amazing track than have another MM2 Wily Stage 3/4 theme, which is probably what we would have gotten since the actual stage theme doesn’t play much in the later gear fortress levels.

NGL, this is one of the most late-80s-anime-female-hero-trampling-over-enemies theme I've ever heard.
Also, lets see how many people wouldn't notice when SilvaGunner replaces MM3 title music after intro with this one.
Every time i listen to this theme i have the feeling like it it would be very easy to add some lyrics to it. Like... replace main mody with vocals and bam... you get something even more awesome

Why did Capcom get lazy with this Wily Fortress? Was it too hard for them to make a second song to play during the third and fourth stages? Because this theme, as catchy as it is, doesn’t fit those last two stages at ALL.
I was hoping for a Sigma stage 2 (X1) or Wily stag 4 (10) vibe. Maybe theyll make an update that adds more soundtracks, like more Wily stage themes and some remixes of past osts
Well, if you listened to the disc with all the soundtrack with the remixes you might have found a specific song called RM11 wich is singed by Ayaka Fukuhara (Megaman’s seiyuu).
Here’s my speculation: this was probably intended for level 3-4 or just 4 but never got to be added because those stages were to short to enjoy the full potential of that song. Because of this and because they didn’t want to discard that song they added some lyrics and eventually made it to the disc.
But this is just my speculations.
I think they did it because they only made 2 full levels even though there should of been 3

i think this was the only tune i cared for in this game, which is saying something, considering how the megaman franchises tend to have multiple entries that make for great listening outside the games.

If Wily and Eggman ever did a crossover(I KNOW they have, pls don't hassle) I can imagine how terrifying of a powerhouse they'd deliver. Maybe to put more effort towards the graphics? 2.5D levels are a lot harder to design than 8-bit ones.
Well... I doubt that the person composing the music was also working on the graphics. 😛 It is pretty lame that it's the only fortress track, but it's made up for by the fact that it's such a great song.
@@Tpcool I feel like that kinda devalues it if anything. the last stage feels like it should have some dramatic tense music, instead you have this hype machine going on in the background. Even Megaman 1 had 2 Wily Castle themes :/
Yeah, absolutely. It's made even more jarring by the fact that the last four games had a unique song for *every* fortress stage.
@@Tpcool Yeah, and I always like the music they play for the later stages because its more somber and ominous, like Stairway into Darkness or Megaman 1 & 2's 2nd Wily theme.
I swear they always save the best theme for the Wily Stages or the stages after the 8 robot masters like darkman stage theme in Mega Man 5. End the game with a bang I guess XD.

I'm guessing Capcom will tell us. It probably has, given the support of Mega Man Legacy Collection.
As of February, it has sold circa 900k copies worldwide, so it's most probably past one milion by now.
It sold pretty well, to my knowledge
