- DIY install of aftermarket rail and crossbar of a Honda CRV 2017 to 2021. Super simple if you are handy and have tools. Can be done easily in an hour. Kit ordered from vevor.ca for about 260$ CAD.

I’ve watched a few installation videos and I really like yours! Nice job! Thanks for posting.
Thanks for posting this. Give me confidence I can do it myself!
not hard at all, you got this!
Thanks post the this video,I was thinking of installing on my 2019 CRV .Your video gave me confident to do it my self 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Was not hard, you just need the right tools!
Great video! Wondering which brand this is on Amazon? ANTS?
Great video. Thanks!
Thank you for the video. Do you have any issues with water/snow, etc leaking?
There should not be any issues because you are using the mounts that already exist in the car. The strip that gets removed for the rails is only for aesthetic purposes it does not actually have anything to do with the integrity of the vehicle.
Nice review.
Thank you for posting this and identifying the supplier. Did you find any options in your search for an affordable flat cross bar design? Some universal cross bar suppliers claim to fasten to the flush mount rails with tension, but that seems like a huge gamble with no ridge on the outside of the CRVs rails.
Also, any thoughts for a cross bar option located further forward to prevent tailgate interference with a cargo pod? Thank you...new owner of a 2018 CRV.
No however, you can set your tailgate to open to a certain height! try that instead :) a little bit annoying but that's the work around
Nice! Does this rack system have a shield for the front? It's all about ascetics, lol..
no shield :)
Are there predrilled holes in roof?
Appreciate the video, I just purchased one, can you tell me can you locate the forward bar over the sunroof or they have pre-defined holes, trying to determine what max size Thule box I could install with these. Tx
The bar mounts are fixed just like the OEM counterparts they do not cover the sunroof. And the wind noise is minimal too.
What is the proper Torque spec?
10 N-m (7.4 lb-ft)
As per the manual...hope this helps
Do you have a link to the rails and crossbars? Honda oem ones are like $800 or something crazy, I'd rather install myself and buy a cheaper set if it's this easy.
I do see the link or at least main website in the desc I'll look it up.
@@urmastertech I paid approximately 250CAD
Thanks for the detailed explanations! Do you think this model would work on a 2016 CRV? I cant find a similar product for that model but Im seeing comments of people trying it on tuscon 2016 and saying that it was a fit !
Unfortunately when Honda does a redesign every 5 years this will only fit 2018-2022 (18, 19, 20, 21, 22)
@@NewTownTech the video says 2017-2022. You excluded 2017 in this reply which is what I have. I need help. I'm tired of loading kayak in back of CRV and would like to get this, but don't want to drill into my roof. I have no rails currently, just the ones flush with the roof. Thought they popped out somewhere but can't figure it out on my own. And I don't want to use anything that wraps around inside the car through windows.
How are you liking these so far? Thinking about getting a set for my CRV
Works awesome just like OEM I use them for my kayaks.
Awesome video, thanks! How’s it holding up a few months in?
no issues this winter so far, I stopped giving it a shake test, it is on there pretty solid. I've held two kayaks up there no issues as well.
@@NewTownTech I want to use it for kayaks. Tired of loading them in back of CRV. This video says 2017 till 2022, but another post you state only early as 2018. I have moldings on top that are smooth and not sure they come out. I have 2017 with sunroof Honda CRV
@@tinaganton4015 If you have a smooth roof without flush mount rails, you will need a different option...unless you buy a kit that includes the flush mount rails as well.
Sorry can you send a link to the product. Thx

What’s the load capacity?
I believe it is 175lbs, over 150 for sure but not by much
Disappointing that HONDA requires you to cut that trim piece. It would be nice if you could remove it, and re-use it someday if you wanted to remove the new rails and return the car to "stock."
