    Just got my Lee Pro 1000 and a stand for it. I haven't even bought supplies yet. I'm trying to get as educated as possible and videos like yours help me retain information an order of magnitude better than just reading the manual. Thank you for taking the time to help others !!

    I got my Pro 1000 up and running after many moons. Ran into a few issues and this helped me tremendously. Thanks so much.

    I want to thank you for your video's. I was given one of these machines that the guy never did get working correctly it sat in his basement collecting dust and spider webs. Now after watching your video's its easy for me to see most of the issues and im much more confident i will be able to get it working. Thanks again

    I have an idea. The guide bushing for the Pro 1000 Quick Change Turret: I made a guide bushing using 5/32nd inch automotive vacuum tubing. Used the ½ inch length you recommended. Pushed it all the way up inside the turret. Friction holds it in place.
    It can be lubed with silicone spray/grease. I used a little spray applied to the shaft. After about five cycles I can’t even tell its there. And boy is it centered/solid! By the same token since it is rubber there is still some give in case of binding.

    I've watched a few of your Pro 1000 videos. Very helpful, thanks very much for sharing your experience and tips. I've been using a Lee turret press for 3-4 years now and consider myself pretty handy. These Pro 1000's are pretty finicky, but seem solid with some simple home brew fixes. I was noticing when I got going too fast with my 45ACP, the primers would flip sideways. I suspect it is due to the slop you illustrate here, and in your video on the nylon spacer.

    Very nice intro to the press. Thanks!
    I just bought a used one dirt cheap (my first turret). It was in pieces with some damage to the index function and without manual so it took me a while to figure it out.
    It's pretty much working now except for the primer feed. It looks as if the priming ram is'nt letting primers come out, but it seems to seat properly and once in a while it acctually primes a case. Is there supposed to be a return spring in there or is it just gravity that returns it back and let a new primer forward?

    Thanks so much for such an awesome and extremely informative video. I have recently purchased a lLee 1000 progressive reloader, and to tell you the truth, it was a little daunting. You have cleared up soooooo many points. I am going to give it.am good crack and see how I go., I will be loading .223 so I have to double up on the powder trays so wish me luck. Keep the great vids coming and happy shooting my friend. Cheers mate.

    I am really having fun watching your videos and seeing all the cleaver fixes you have made. I am currently thinking of a way to automate the leaver driving the press maybe a chain driven sprocket and gear motor? it would not need to be bolted to a bench but more a table top machine.... like a manly version of a sewing machine :-)

    • @mshaw290808mi
      @mshaw290808mi  6 років тому

      I have seen other people automate other lever presses. For this press it might work if you hand prime all of the brass first.

      I was thinking make the motor stop the cycle at the bottom and have a much smaller lever to press the primer in. Like you said its all about the feel..

    I'm aware this is an older video, but I learned quite a bit. What are all the wires for? (Like, I see the counter, but I don't think it would need more than 2 wires)

    • @mshaw290808mi
      @mshaw290808mi  5 років тому

      The part counter video is ua-cam.com/video/JzCa6uPJZ2c/v-deo.html if you go to my video page at ua-cam.com/users/mshaw290808mivideos you can see many videos that I have made on the Lee Pro 1000. Depending on how much wear is on your machine this video is an important one ua-cam.com/video/j5JmqgoNv6g/v-deo.html this change keeps you press in alignment.

    Helped out greatly, was having massive primer flip issues do to shell plate slop. Used your nylon inserts and machine out the 1/2 inch outer diameter in all my 3 hole turrets. Thanks.
    Have to ask what is all the electronic gadgetry with the lcd screen hooked into your press?

      It is a parts counter, easy and cheap to make. ua-cam.com/video/JzCa6uPJZ2c/v-deo.html Lots of other videos on the Lee Pro 1000 at ua-cam.com/users/mshaw290808mivideos

    looks like there's too much powder in that case

    • @mshaw290808mi
      @mshaw290808mi  5 років тому +2

      I use Alliant Green Dot powder (4.2 grains per round) which is a low density powder. So it will look like there is too much powder in the shell. It has the safety advantage that if you double charge a shell it flows over the edges and you cannot even seat a bullet in the case keeping you from accidentally making a super hot dangerous round.

    Do not make anymore fixes for this POS press Lee should be ashamed to sell it, it makes a mess with spent primers, cocked primers, low powder charges,
