I think its an underrated show and Jonny Lee miller must be recognized for his exceptional portrayal of Sherlock Holmes
It's true. Jonny Lee Miller is a wonderful actor
Especially since his interpretation of the character far succeeds Cumberbatch's.
I think Cumberbatch does a magnificent job, you should not subertimarlo. Both are very good but Sherlock surpasses him. Not the performance, but the character

What I like about Elementary is the relationship between Joan and Sherlock- he admits to his own mistakes and while he's a stubborn bastard, he's there for her when he needs to be. He also admits to the fact she's clever and good at solving these cases, and even to the fact he needs her! Just, wow, this sort of healthy friendship is too rare on TV, especially between a male and a female character.
Mostly a TV series with man and woman living together always end up in love.

I love love love this show. I don't care how much people want to compare this with Sherlock. It's like comparing vanilla gelato with beef wellington. It's like trying to decide which of your children you love the most. Which is better, the moon, or the sun? LOve Sherlock, love Joan, love detective Bell, love them all.
The universal rule of Sherlock Holmes adaptations: The music can, will, and *must* absolutely fucking slap!

i like both sherlock and elementary. elementary has new, innovative stories to tell and not just modernized versions of sir arthur conan doyle's work

Idc if a lot people dislike this show. Obviously enough show for the show to get renewed for a Season 5!!! I dont see why people feel like they have to compare this to BBC's Sherlock. I watch them both and I love them both, but I dont compare them to each other. Even though they are both based off of the Sherlock Holmes novels they are both very different and they both are equally brilliant

This is the best possible way to make music out of the essence of Sherlock Holmes's soul. This is what I think of when I think Sherlock Holmes. Its so geniusly mad.

I absolutely love this series! The relationship between Joan and sherlock is done so well, they have this balanced dynamic that you can see develop especially well during the first season and the spin with Watson being a women instead of a man really puts a nice modern twist set in new York instead of generic old London (btw I live here so it gets boring seeing the same setting used over and over) while I loved reading the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle books and watching sherlock I felt like this had a such a good momentum going for it, the mysteries are complex and fun to try and figure out on your own showing off modern murders since they can be more complex due to the evolution of science. All in all why this show had such a bad reputation really intrigues me, maybe it's coz it's not exactly the same sherlock homes we know or maybe it's coz we get to actually see some character development with him showing that he can change and how he needs to admit he does need Watson with him at times and how he wants to try harder with the human in him, it's quite relatable with those who are drug addicts (perhaps only slightly relatable). This is also one of the few show to perfectly put in an animal and not have it overstep it's boundaries in the plot but still have it humorously hide in the background ie that map where Clyde was a vehicle. One last thing I promise, the police isn't shown to be incompetent ass holes! well sometimes they're shown to be asses but only power hungry or negligence types. The police are seen to have a more prominent role showing off what they want to do and how to help.
people don't like this, or the series? Then there must be something wrong with them on both counts. The series is beyond epic and this extended mix of a really great theme tune is equally epic. Really; some of the people on should get a grip!
It's about what you watched first . Then it becomes your permanent image of Sherlock holmes . After that you find it hard to fit other actors into your hero . For example of someone else plans to take over as captain Jack sparrow can you imagine watching pirates of carribbean

@@Sreeharivanil I watched first the Sherlock series with Benedict Cumberbatch before watching this, but I loved Elementary 10 times more.
You really can't compare this show with Sherlock - they're both so awesome yet so different. The score is driving, suspenseful and very action-oriented in Elementary, and extremely cool, while Sherlock's themes are UNBELIEVABLY catchy and capture the characters as opposed to the suspense of the cases as Elementary does.

We share opinions I believe, While Sherlock is about Sherlock Holmes and focuses on his mind and the cases, Elementary has a certain 'thing' that kind of makes it not just about Holmes, but more of focuses on everything, they both do a brilliant job and its a periled to watch both. However Elementary has more episodes so its kind of sad *mumbles*

esha sharma I wasn't sure about a female Watson (and Moriarty) but I'm loving the show thus far (half way through Season 2 now), but I have to say, I LOVE IT!

Great show. Good character interaction, perfect casting, brilliant script, fantastic theme tune. It is the only one I listen too rather than skip ahead.

This Sound is GREAT, I love it! It's so powerful, and on the other side it makes this Sherlock Holmes Personality more understandable. He is a strange, very complex Person, with a lot problems in his soul, very intelligent and also very sensitiv, but not close to other people because of his history! The Music, I mean the Theme, is perfect! And: I'm happy about, that the Author of this TV-Serie let the People worldwide see, that a drug-addicted human can be very, very helpfull and intelligent and can do a lot important things for the Community! It's "only" a movie, but I love to look it anymore, when I'm alle to do! One Step more for understanding each other! Sorry for my english, I'm not used to explain difficult themes in that way! 😉I hope, that everybody,can understand! 😊

I miss this show. I found season 1 and 2 DVD's in a thrift shop a few days ago for $5 each. Can't stop watching.
I just got into this show shortly after finishing Sherlock. I got into Sherlock very late too and this show really blew me away. I wasn’t really sure about it when I watched the first episode but it started to grew on me after the second one. Really love this show so far, currently at S1E9. Fricking love the theme song, it’s awesome. Some of my friends do say that this show is better than Sherlock but tbh I love them both and both shows have their unique direction in executing the way they portray Sherlock Holmes. My only complaint is that why didn’t I get into all these shows earlier?!!

This music,, has something like searching in it, its beauty lies just there, that it is kind of intellectual struggle to find the core, the root, the cause. Simple, and complicated heavily at the same moment, beautiful.

I love the way that in this great music we can hear some similar, in their way, parts of Hans Zimmer's Sherlock Holmes movie soundtrack. Love this music and Elementary!
I think the BBC Sherlock theme sounds alot more like Zimmer's movie theme.
This one has a different ''vibe'' to it. Both great shows and great themes. The movies also.

This is a really nice extended theme. I can't find any official soundtrack for this show, of which I'm a fan. Anyone know if any soundtracks (the score) have been released? Also, I like BBC's Sherlock, as well as Elementary. I think the Elementary writers have found a great way of staying true to the spirit of the original stories. And they've come up with great humor to capitalize on the relationship between Holmes and Joan Watson. BBC's Sherlock seems to present stories that are a bit more hyper-real. And, sometimes the character development is more interwoven into the plots in Sherlock, it seems. One thing amazing about Elementary is that the writers turn out so many different stories in each season. And I love the Rube Goldberg machine that is used in the Elementary intro!

Oh God do not know how much I regret that my computer does not have more volume, I love, I think the show is perfect, of course you can not compare it to Sherlock, are focused at different points are different but try the "same" characters. For me both are perfect in their own approach. (So I have to say that both are perfect soundtrack your way).

I actually like the wee-oo synth incorporated in it. The orchestral sounds are all synth, anyway. The Sherlock theme is a quick burst of excitement that burns out quickly and is repeated a LOT, whereas I've had to come back to this to really appreciate it. Much like the shows.

I can't quite fathom how anybody could hate this show. It's deep, it touches subjects and matters we wouldn't see in any other show. And for what it's worth, I believe that any interpretation of a Sherlock Holmes and Jo(h/a)n Watson is worth watching. I felt Mr. Millers interpretation of Holmes is absolutely admirable. He is human, sentimental and is able to emphasise with people, this gives his character and his relationships a warmth that's really captivating and interesting to watch.
Elementary is the better Sherlock Holmes adaptation compared to Sherlock.
I like shows like these. They make me feel like there is always something bigger than us out there.

It doesn't have the same ring to it as the original had, and it certainly is a little rough around the edges, but I believe that this is a wonderfully crafted little gem that I (just like many others) have found.
