I’m glad these knockoffs exist, because they at least give us near accurate replicas of the original toys. I feel like these could skyrocket in price one day due to so many people buying them, but I doubt that’ll happen.
They should. I still don't get why Oliver never made it to Trackmaster in America, and even when he came back Plarail never reintroduced him. Granted you could probably make a pretty good Oliver custom out of Whiff.

My theory about the Edward chassis engines is these are actually based on sample tests for standardizing a chassis for a cancelled revamp, which was later adopted by Trackmaster Revolution with the only difference with the idea being that the running board would not be part of the chassis. I think Edward’s running board like most engines was part of the chassis influenced the ugly shapes that these guys got, but then you get the FreddLe, the 0-6-0 China Clay Twins, and the Logging twins with the smaller bunkers and funnels which kind of have a standardized motor and awkward proportions but look a bit more like themselves. Makes it seem like they’re from a second test where Fisher-Price was only reusing the motor and not the whole chassis. Seeing as how they are usually bundled with the 1:1 looking knockoffs, they might be copied from engines from the same batch of real ones. (Apologies for constantly editing this comment)
the fact that they used a diesel box for this is funny. maybe its a mad bomber situation where under the cover which is a attempt to look like whiff. is a diesel in disguise
That fake Trackmaster Whiff looks so weird and wonky because he has side rods and Whiff does not have side rods, The only good thing about the fake Trackmaster Whiff is that it’s perfect for making a Trackmaster Albert custom.
Like I said on the community post you made I recommend using track master 2 front wheels so that way it doesn't lean back also another thing is that this is perfect for custom of Albert

We never got a trackmaster 2 Whiff yet we some how have gotta him multiple time now in All Engines Go. It just seems so bizarre that out of all character he was one Mattel was willing to let be in the brand again.
Funny how Revolution only started making Whiff when he appeared in AEG.

The spring terminal is actually on some of the later flat drive trackmaster motors, my 2013 Thomas and James have spring terminals

Also, some of the real Trackmaster trains did use a spring battery terminal (the 2013 ones)
