Another cool thing about late war Marines is that in some photos, you can sometimes see guys wearing ERDL tops with OD Bottoms and vice versa. Cool video though!
props for refraining from using “woobie” Btw there are numerous stories of 3rd Division Marines praying that they miraculously still had an M14 and the .308 round when they needed to neutralize a sniper or nest from 500+
I think you could also used an ARVN rucksack for this impression as based on a book I’ve read about uniforms in Vietnam, it was stated that marines will also use ARVN rucksacks and in some cases captured NVA packs which provided more capacity compared to the M1941 as the war went on but I’m not sure how accurate is it to use an ARVN Rucksack for Dewey Canyon
Yeah there are Vietnam reenactments out there. Not as many as Civil War or WWII, but they aren’t that to hard to find if you know where to look (Facebook usually). Thank you for your service.
I get a kick out of all these kids that post these "impressions" like it was a damn game. They dress up and "play army". They act like it was fun and games. It wasn't! Guys died and went home in an aluminum box, some burnt beyond recognition. Other lost hands, arms, and legs. There's a wall in D.C. with over 50,000 names on it. Go visit the wall and read all the names and then think long and hard about what your point is. None of us give a damn about your likes.
It isn't a game, no one thinks it's a game, they're just learning about the history of the conflict and the kits used in it, noone acts it was fun and games. It's just history, yes it's a shame what happened to these men and we are glad we aren't in Nam, but just let people enjoy their hobbies man...
People make videos like this to honor and preserve the history of it. This video respectfully shows what guys in Vietnam had to lug around in the jungle for miles on end. In no way is he begging for likes, he’s simply showing the uniform of Marines in Vietnam and sharing its history. In my opinion, the point of this video is to simply share the history of the uniforms Marines wore in Vietnam. And don’t you think it’s good to reach out to the younger generation about the history of Vietnam and the US military? Half of my class had no clue that there was a war in Vietnam until I did a presentation about it. Making videos and sharing history about this kind of subject in fact honors soldier who fought and died in Vietnam because it brings attention to the conflict and what our soldiers had to do over there.
