Finally, a fashion influencer who's *actually* interested in style and fashion, not just mindless consumerism. You are one of very, very few influencers who wears outfits so "old", they are no longer available for purchase. It's proof you don't need "on trend" items, to look polished and put together. Others may spout about "investment pieces" and "cost per wear", but you actually walk the walk. Thank you for a very informative and enjoyable video. No affiliate links, no peddling of wares, no massive hauls. Just information, carefully-researched and well-presented.
@@tracyhiggins8533 Yes! And it's *so* refreshing to not have someone telling you 24/7 you need the latest dress/ bag/ shoes to look put together. Very thankful to have discovered Lydia and her channel.
I couldn't have said it better! I think Lydia is the BEST for classic looks that you hold onto... that are timeless. It's SO refreshing to NOT see the 'hauls' and the 'gifts' that are given to the influencer to push on the rest of us. Lydia... stick to what you do best: honest, timeless, classic, fashion discussions. I LOVE your combinations and I am constantly copying and pasting them for inspiration.
Hi Lydia, I’m a ‘50’ something lady & I love your videos for inspiration. I think when you get older these classic pieces are essential to keep you looking young and ‘with it’. Well done.
I just wanted to say, I've only just discovered your channel and OMG I've certainly been missing out! Your style is so perfect and as an older viewer I can relate to most of your outfits. Even my 81 year old mum who loves clothes was inspired! Thankyou for all your hard work and dedication, I hope your subscribers grow and grow x
That's amazing! I love that so much. Please say hello to your mum from me and tell her thank you! My grandmas are the same age and they're stylish ladies too haha! Thank you so much for your kind words xxx
Another excellent “lesson” video 👌 Your advice and knowledge is so inspiring, and like other comments here, it’s refreshing to see you show us how to work older pieces into styling, maybe with just a change in combination to be fresh, rather than constant buying of trend pieces. I look forward to all your videos, and have made some recent purchases of my own from your inspo 😍
I have everything you mention in my wardrobe but still open my wardrobe doors and go What am I going to wear.??? I love videos where a blogger would use the essential and only add 1 new item that's in style. Rather than whole videos of new items. So we could just keep investing in essential and still add something thats just in style for that season.
I have been looooving this series. Think it's so helpful, really. And I think you really speak about the essential, without the fuss of the constant trends that came and go. Thank you for your work, keep going girl 💪💪
Enjoyed the "Wardrobe Essentials" video! I have moved out of my comfort zone, & purchased a slouchy trouser with pockets! They look great on me, & are so comfortable! I only had straight leg or skinny trousers in my wardrobe, so thank you for your lessons videos! Also, how do you feel about mid-calf trousers? Are they outdated? Take care & looking forward to your next lesson💕
I’ve decluttered my wardrobe recently and all the staples you’ve mentioned I bought it all. I felt that my wardrobe was stuck in my 20’s and I am now in my 30’s. That is not to say that I did not keep some that still suits my style and can be a classic, but I do feel that my fashion sense has elvolved towards classic timeless pieces with bits of colorful and trendy ones. It also really helped watching your videos
Finally I found You! I have seen a lot of styling UA-camrs but I have to say that by far you are my very favorite one!!!!! Thank you for sharing your style tips! Very very very helpful! So easy to follow! I wish I could find like a photo library of all your outfits so I could see them all together and pick my favorites without missing some of them! I send you a Big hug from Mexico City! 🇲🇽 Keep going! You rock! 🥳💕
A beautiful and amazing show. My thanks, appreciation and respect to you. I wish you permanent happiness, success and progress in your wonderful work. Health and safety to all of you with the utmost thanks and respect. Greetings.
I love investing in pieces that I know will stand the test of time. I don’t tend to be too trend led in what I wear. I bought a navy Zara coat that had studded sleeves around 8 years ago for going on my honeymoon and I still wear it to this day. I’ve always made sure to have it professionally dry cleaned to ensure that it’s kept in pristine condition. x
I have watched this video a few times now and realised that I didn't have many of these as building blocks in my wardrobe. I have since picked up a striped t shirt, plain black and white t shirt. Ordered a trench coat, for my body shape the trench is more of a straight fit rather than oversized as it makes me look bulky. Hoping this will open my wardrobe up as I often feel its mismatched and have to keep buying. Thank you. Loving this series. Hoping for a autumn staples.
Very informative video, Lydia! I’m going to watch this once a month to refresh my memory. Could you please do a video about essential belts. I have many but never have the right one. I love your classic style! Thank you 😀
Hi Lydia. Enjoy your video, s for inspiration and agree about Quality versus quantity . However, my weight fluctuates sometimes up to two sizes since menopause. So i have a lot of beautiful pieces i hardly been able to wear. So i tend to buy less expensive pieces now.
Those taupe loafer mules are just amazing. That color goes with everything! I have a good suede leopard loafer pair that I love that's becoming a good classic item too! 🥰
You presented outstanding information and the addition of a variety of pictorial examples for each piece was a huge help, it was obvious and appreciated that you spent a lot of conscientious time and effort to share this information! THANK YOU!
Thnk u again n again! Waitin for each of ur films! As to „Lessons with Lydia” ideas: how about fashion tips about how to deal with styling problems, e.g. how to wear a shirt that is a bit see through or what shoes not to wear with jeans 😊
Down to earth, common sense style. ❤️ Thank you! Curious how tall are you? You look great in everything including the oversized and loose look, but I’m 5’2” and can’t carry it, as comfy as it seems.
I think the key here is simply if the woman has good fashion sense & good taste? And know how to combine pieces and colors, or monochrome, etc.🤔 Either you know what you're doing or you don't. Same as, either you have class or not!
Great video and I agreee with all of your choices! Please do a video on what Classic jewelry pieces to wear with your classic wardrobe. One question: why are you (and other models) always looking into your phone? It’s puzzling to me! Anyway, thanks Lydia 😘💕💗
I agree totally with your suggestions on wardrobe essentials. In terms of comments, I think it would be a great idea if you were to add suggested links to each , that were available to Canada and the US, as well as the UK which you are obviously familiar with.
Common projects sneakers are great. I like some of the wardrobe essentials, but in the hot climate im in..... i have no need for trench coat, long coat, leather jacket, cardigans, black trousers, boots. When it’s really cold here like 21 degrees celsius i wear i sweat shirt, thin cardigan Or cotton shacket or a kaftan. I miss being able to layer.
I actually hate the look of the traditional ballet flat, I don’t like how it cuts off my foot/toes and I generally stay away from most round toe shoes. Also makes my feet look so wide and broad for some reason? Almond can give me a similar look but is much more flattering on me. I’ve definitely found that a pointed toe flat that comes slightly higher up or a loafer suits me more, but that’s the beauty of fashion-it’s so individual to the person!
You are very classy and gorgeous and your style is exceptional. Have you looked at Donna Karen fashion, priceless, signature pieces, organic and are timeless. If you feel impelled to produce a video on her pieces I’d love it, I see know one ever has.
You’re right with the basics, but I regret the white shirt and t-shirt. You can’t wear sunscreen on your neck and décolletage without having stains. I hate this 🙈
I so want to purchase a trench coat and found a long black one, not belted, but looks double breasted...do you feel I'd be better off to get a tan one???
Sounds silly by try kids ages 11-12 or 13-14, they have one in at Zara at the moment! I’m also petite and shop in the children’s section occasionally 😊
